This Die Hard doesn't get a lot of love in general, but it is one of my favorites.

I really like this movie. Justin Long made a good sidekick,Timothy Olyphant and Maggie Q made great bad guys. Mary Elizabeth Winstead was a good choice for Lucy,she really did seem like the offspring of John and Holly. The Kevin Smith cameo was fun.

Never got the hate for this one. It's a well made action flick with a good cast. Sure, it's not a patch on DH1 or DH3 but it's still a fun movie with Bruce when he still gave a crap.

John's a superhero alright. You might say he's ... Unbreakable!

This is my second favorite diehard movie after the first. I do enjoy three, but some thing about it holds it down.

Lucy MacClaine is played by the same girl who played Ramona Flowers in Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.

This isn't a bad movie at all it's just all 3 before it were such damn good ones. Over the top? Yes. But still a good addition to the franchise.

Personally I absolutely loved this film. Funny all the way through, packed with action scenes and cool stunts and a villain that can go toe to toe with McClain. This movie doesn’t get a whole lot of love from moviegoers and it’s a shame.

This was released as Die Hard 4.0 in the UK the last one is A Good Day to Die Hard it ties up the story of both his kids you need to see it

Yeah, this was during a time when studios thought it was a good idea to take franchises that had always been rated R and bring them back with a pg13 rating to reach a larger audience. For the most part, every movie that did this suffered. Enough that they eventually stopped. Aliens vs Predator is another example of this. That one was really hurt by keeping it at a lower rating. This one was early enough in that that I'm pretty sure they had a bunch of takes with and without the swearing. I'm pretty sure the uncut version is not just rerecording the audio. If you liked this movie, I recommend checking out the unrated version some time. It may be mostly just added cursing, but you'd be surprised how much John's language makes it feel more like a Die Hard film.

I actually really enjoyed this one. It's better than 3 and it's very funny in places but the action is so OTT I just had a great time at the ridiculous set-pieces one after the other. The double act here works really well

The unrated version is a tad better. Same movie, but more blood here and there and also a bunch of swearing throughout, which is more in line with what Die Hard should be.

Many people talk about Lucy McClain, but what did your daughter give to this film? There wasn’t much of her, at the beginning, where she had sex with a guy and had a fight with her father, showing her strong character, a little in the middle, where she was held hostage, told her father the number of terrorists, and at the end in the final battle, where she screamed along with the stupid jock Emerson, after hitting the henchman Thomas with the back of her head, penetrated with her tied hands into the holster with Emerson's pistol, after which she shot him in the foot and he dropped his machine gun on the floor, screaming, grabbing her hands so that she would not kill him with his own pistol, she turned around while Emerson was screaming and screaming and kicked Emerson's machine gun at his father and Thomas stopped him at the last second, then after everything she ran up to her father and sobbed for her attitude towards him at the very beginning. There wasn't much of her in this film, unfortunately (

I'm sure you're gonna watch it but the fifth one is cuh-RAP! Worst out of all of them and is a slap in the face to the franchise. Also, when the fighter jet took out the highway all those cars were abandoned. They mentioned it in a quick scene in a news clip.

- 10:00 - It's the loss of the "regular dudeness" that has made these movies less and less good. I thought this one was fun enough, but I think 3 was the last good one. - It's Dec-2021 now, and Epic Rap Battles of History just put out a rap battle between John McClane and John Wick (...AND John Rambo). it's great! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/grRln92YmLqpZmQ.html - I agree w/Nova that 1 & 3 are the best, in that order. - At this point, the DIE HARD's are just cookie cutter action movies, so it's surprising to me that they'd go thru the trouble of having him separated from Holly, and NOT give him a love interest. That being said, maybe they finally divorced John & Holly so the kids could be super resentful of him for some reason, because in the last movie (which I didn't ever bother seeing), his son hates him too for "reasons" :D

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but this is my favorite movie of the franchise even when it isn't the unrated version because the original I get annoyed by the trope of all the emergency service people disbelieving him and the incompetent ranking trope (which is normal in movies but was done so much worse in the '80's). They are both bad tropes that drive me nuts. This movie's only annoyance for me is not using the famous phrase right.

This film intentionally did everything the original film tried not to do, it turns McClane into a superhero. McClane is indestructible, going up against a limp villain with no goal, with a stereotypical sidekick, boringly filmed, with ludicrously over the top vignettes which would kill The Road Runner. I'd be shocked if the people who made this film actually saw the original film. There's nothing to connect this with its predecessors, aside from the title, and Bruce Willis himself.

My fav action movie of all time. No one could live through those stunts but sooo well done.

John IS a superhero. Screen Junkies did a video where a doctor analyzed his injuries in all the Die Hard movies, and it was concluded he would have died 13 times in the 5 movies. Surprisingly, in the 2nd one, he would have barely survived through the entire movie. In this one, he would have died something like 5 times or so.

I agree with a lot of the things you've said about this series. For me, with most series, I watch the first one as a standalone film (Die Hard, Alien, even Star Wars). It's only when I watch the sequels that I include the first film in the chronology (if that makes sense). So whenever Die Hard ends, for me, they live happily ever after. Things like he and Holly getting divorced and his increasing invulnerability kind of make the original less special. I do enjoy the sequels. They're fun. But, yeah, pretty much what you guys said. Oh yeah, and I like this channel, I hope you do well with it.

Modern movies...overused CGI, plot replaced with more gun battles and explosions, and the actions sequences made so unrealistic that they are almost cartoons. A Good Day to Die Hard is even worse.

There are hundreds and hundreds of martial Arts and hundreds of those arts are variations of Kung Fu.Karate and Rae Kwan Do are said to be derived from Kung Fu. Many of the basic techniques are the same no matter which art or style is used. It is so complex with many similarites.. That unless you are familiar with the art or style one may be indestinguishable from another without extensive training. Your concern of racism can only come off as meaning that everone who ignorantly calls a martial art Kung Fu is a racist and the only way to not be racist is to know every single martial arts so intimately as to be a master of them all. That's pretty unrealistic. A chinese person may study Karate and a japanese person may learn ung Further complicating whether or not its racist. The measure O would go by is if one mistakenly got the martial art wrong and later learned the proper term but continued to say the wrong one on purpose was being racist Otherwise you are saying that human beings are perfect, but are racist because they don't know any better. But I say it is when you do know and continue to say it wrong with the attitufe you know better than the truth that your racist. Back to martial arts anyone can recognize when martial arts and when about half or more are Kung Fu it is an easy enough mistake that could be right Eagle Claw and Drunken fist are different sryles created by different masters but they are both Kung Fu. Even if you can't name the style or school, or art it doesn't matter the gender or skin color of the person using it. Ask yourself if it would be racist to call it Kung Fu crap if the person fighting John were Black, Indian, Egyption, or white?
