In this clip, John Salley weighed in on the hit Netflix mini-series When They See Us, based on the Central Park 5. John Salley recounted living in New York City around that time and the racial tension that was brewing. He and Vlad also discussed some of the details surrounding the case and the film, pointing out how dirty and unlawful tactics were used throughout to convict those five young men.

I was in New York when the Central Park 5 thing happened. I was there 3 years earlier when the Preppy Murder happened in Central Park. Both cases handled very differently.

What does that book have to do with someone going through what those kids went through. We need to stop with the look on the bright side stuff at times. These kids went to prison and lost time. Time is the most precious asset we have. Then to lose that time as a child being locked up with adults. The blessing was that those Men were eventually found innocent and that Good people assisted to rectify the matter. God has given all of us the power to change this world and to make earth as it is in heaven; when the good people turj a blind eye to that dutt things like this happen!!!! Good people are the blessing!!!

He's probably focused on asking the questions more than anything and probably listens to the response in order to ask another question, not to fully grasp the situation. He does so many interviews, so he probably has a good system down by now.

John Salley has always seemed like a good guy, and maybe he is exactly that in reality, but the ignorance here was staggering. Such was the case with the interviewer as well.
