He is the blueprint for what you want in a PG. Magic has nothing on this man Stockton. His Assist to TO ratio was 3.72 and that’s good for second all time, all time leader steals and assist, never was unhealthy, always played hard and focused. Shot 53% from the field for a span of 5 years. Thought pass first, score second and still could chip in a serviceable 16 per game while handing out 13 assists which basically means that he was responsible for nearly half of the jazz offense output. Ran his offense like a genius and that’s why the jazz were so dominant when he played. And he just walked off into the sun set just as quietly as he came in. Magic was great but he was unhealthy, got HIV from some whore cheating on his wife, while stockton was a family man who kept his head down. Magic was an enormous 6”9 and stockton was barely 6”0. Magic won titles yes but that was before th “Jordan rules” were enacted, and the jazz had to face that perennially. I love magic but we’re talking about who embodies the PG position, and stockton just did it better.

You say that about a lot of players. There is the Charles Barkley Rule, does that make him a GOAT? They changed some rules because of James Harden. @@cesartrujillo8813Hes still not seen by most as the best PG ever, even though in terms of all around skills, Stockton probably is the best ever at the point. Love Magic, and he was and still is a freak of nature, but he wasnt a better passer than John Stockton, and while Stockton wasnt a tall guy or bigger than a flea out on the court, he was EXCEPTIONAL on defense for his size. Im not even a Jazz or Stockton guy, but if im creating a five man squad from anyone whos ever played, im taking John as my PG. The thing that no one ever discusses about Wilt is the fact that he was so unselfish. The guy could have averaged 50 + a game for his entire career...but he adapted to what his team needed. The years he averaged 50, he was on a Sixers team that needed him to score and rebound...when he got to L.A. they had Baylor and West, they needed Defense and rebounding, so he didn't need to score as much and became one of the best defensive big men in the league...and no one ever talks about what an EXCELLENT passer he was for a big man. To me, he's the greatest ever because if he had wanted to be selfish, he could have put the all time scoring record out of reach....as evidenced by the fact that no one else has scored 100 since he did !

Everybody knows that Wilt Chamberlain was untouchable. It was like he was playing against kids. And don’t give me that lack of championships garbage, that’s “ team” ball. One player can’t do it, but individually the most unstoppable player was Wilt. It’s like mentioning the all time hits leader, Pete Rose, so far ahead of 2nd that it’s insulting to Pete to even mention. The standard is 3000 hits, 2nd to Pete last I checked was at least 1000 behind😂😂. Kareem and all those others were great, but they don’t come close to Wilts individual greatness. Sorry Dan..

Pace. His "records" fall to pieces when you adjust for pace. Wilt averaged 27 per 100 possessions on 54 percent TS on the regular season and 19 per 100 on 52 percent TS in the postseason. MJ by comparison averaged 40.4 on 58 percent TS in the regular season and 43.3 on 57 percent TS in the playoffs. And that's with Wilt scoring on far lower volume the second half of his career from 1960-1966 he averaged 30.7 per 100 in the regular season on an abysmal 52.9 percent TS and just 22 per 100 on 52.4 percent TS in the playoffs. So MJ not only scored on literally DOUBLE the volume that Wilt did in the playoffs, he also scored on efficiency that was farther above league average during his career than Wilt did during his.
