these "old" shows are how I shared precious time with my Dad when he had an emotional breakdown (aka dementia from all the stress he held back all his life, never complained once and he had a horrific childhood, finally, it got to him), anyway, I had to find things he could enjoy and not be scary or stupid to him (moronic shows nowadays, no morality, cussing, blood, etc., you know....). anyway, I started watching westerns with my Dad, with John Wayne, not Eastwood because his were more violent and bloody but JW and Gunsmoke and I honestly grew to appreciate and love them. Now, years later, my Dad has passed but.......because of him, now I love them (James Arness especially, Festus too), I still watch Gunsmoke almost every night......love this. more wholesome and instills morals by watching good stories. recommend it. I never feel bad after. not crazy about the colorized versions of the 7000 series - I prefer the black and white. wish we had more Matt Dillions......God bless all.

One thing is for sure. If anyone wants to find the bad in someone they will find it. I've heard a lot of stories about different actors over the years and it seems a mix of good and bad that's related about them. I can name so many of the movies that the actors in this video starred in and have enjoyed practically all of them. But I'm not naive to the fact that some had problems with other actors due to someone stepping on their toes or egos. Some, like Wayne, let their political beliefs get in the way of how they got along with others while stardom and ego played a big part as well. They were all good actors, in my opinion, for the roles they played and the times they lived.

In my mind I picture someone from FV telling an assistant, " I need you to find me the most shockingly awful picture of this dead celebrity so I can use it as a thumbnail in the next video. I mean the absolute worst there is, so bad its hard to believe its real kinda bad. Sadly, more often than not they obviously do as they're told. Im sure every person, average to the most famous, dead or still alive have their less than stellar days & photographs taken at the worst possible moments. Those who have passed seemed to be the subject of the never ending posts of" things we found out after said celebrity's death" videos along with the oh so embarassing & shocking pictures of them. While I cant deny having at least somewhat of a morbid curiosity I feel somethings are better left unsaid & definitely unseen. Its like shooting fish in a barrel. Theyre dead so theyre a pretty easy target for content like this, but IMO theres just something disrespectful & wrong about aiming your judgemental sights on people who are no longer here to defend themselves. I would say why not let your conscience be your gide, but its pretty apparent you were clearly born without one. I honestly dont know why this channels feels the need to stoop to this level of tackiness. You have a decent following & fascinating content when youre not using shock value or over dramatizing for higher view counts. I guess my point of this ( yes, I actually have one😂) is why????

John Wayne was a great man, I have studied him and his family. He was famous for his kindness and honesty, sometimes brutal honesty, but honesty. He got along with most people, unless they acted like jackasses. Unlike most people here, he gave everyone a fair shake. This FV guy has his good and bad information, but I don't think he's trying to paint Wayne badly. Even if some might understandably, but probably mistakenly, believe this to be the case. John Wayne was the reverse of racist, and believed native Americans were not always treated fairly by the white settlers. And was correct, God bless everyone, stay safe. Viva Cristo Rey.

seriously, who cares? I doubt this story of JW "hating" James Arness. JW was said to have recommended Arness for the role of Matt Dillion because Arness was 6'9" and towered over JW at 6'4", and he was younger and better looking - so he wasn't crazy about being in any more western movies starring them both. so JW encouraged Arness to go for it, as it was tv and it left the movies for JW. I tend to believe this and both were Geminis, so no way there was a feud with Arness. love Matt Dillion by the way, watch him every night to this day.....

yes, I heard that JW didn't appreciate JA upstaging him in movies (he didn't mean to, he couldn't help that he was 6'7" - 6'9", younger and pretty handsome!) so JW recommended JA for the tv show so he would stay busy on tv and leave the movies to JW. John Wayne was originally chosen to play Matt Dillon before the series aired in 1955 but declined and referred James Arness for the role of Matt Dillon. What gives Wayne the right to harbor a resentment against Arness for not showing up for The Alamo? I know filming Gunsmoke took up a lot of Arness' time. Wayne probably felt he was taking sole credit for getting Arness to becoming a success on the long running series he felt Arness owed him and expected to much out of him in return.

I believe you are making that up and if your grandfather did say this he was a habitual liar!!! And Marion back in the 20s was a man and woman's name, my name is Michael and I know of three or four famous women from Hollywood with that name. Just because you have a personal grudge against John Wayne don't make your self look ignorant with statements that are completely untrue

@@mikethompson1703 , believe what ever you want Mike, I know the truth and the story that was told to us. My Great Uncle lived like 3 houses from him and his family. As he was starting getting older he started become racist and a white supremacist, mostly because of his very racist father. Just trust me he was NOT a very friendly guy at all. Again believe what you wish.

They put a Stetson on an alien character from Star Trek for the thumbnail. It improves Marrion Morrison's looks.

Never thought John Wayne was a good actor......at all. Plus, he was a Republican. Enough said.

John Wayne and Yakima Canutt killed more horses making movies than any other film maker. Canutt was a stunt man and worked with Wayne especially in the early part of his career.

Wayne was never an actor. Wayne was merely Marion Morrison's alter ego.

Wayne was a lousy actor, was one dimensional, saw him trying to play a Mongolian in a movie, he sounded no different than the stupid cowboys he played, he was jealous of the real actors in the movies.
