People are sheep who like to jump on bandwagons. Most of them don't have opinions of their own and just repeat the opinions of others. Tom Cruise fell victim to the same shit with people claiming he wasn't a good actor because they don't like Scientology. It wasn't until he became known for doing a lot of his own stunts in the Mission Impossible series that people all of a sudden changed their tune. It's funny how action movies, which often have more to do with physicality than emotion, suddenly change people's perspectives of actors.

Was disappointed. Fight scenes too long. Turning campy. To self aware. Appears to be losing precision. not picking up guns from defeated foes when unarmed (and thus unarmed *again* next scene), and too many cuts during action scenes. Enjoyed the film. But it's losing the things that made them special.

The Good The Bad and The Ugly reference and The Game of Death one were great and the knife/axe fight in the museum was one of the best action scenes I have ever seen. But I did not like where the film went and I feel by the end, its not the same franchise I originally enjoyed and I don't think I care to see a forth as much as I was hoping this would end the Trilogy.

I couldn’t agree more. Very disappointed in some of the unbelievable plot directions. The “elder” is some guy living in a tent in the desert from where he runs this syndicate🤦🏻♂️(spent a little time in the m.east,laughable) the “adjudicator” wasn’t believable at all(you could tell Larry Fishburne wanted to bitch-slap her but didn’t to save his paycheck), and Halle Berry wasn’t given the two dogs to “spice things up”, she required them to complement her 125lb frames limited fighting ability. I loved the first two JW films immensely, a little let down by JW3😢
@Kenshiro3rd5 жыл бұрын
S White the entire point of the adjudicator was that she wasn't believable. She's just this bureaucrat, with nerves of completely unbreakable steel, and the full might of the High Table at her disposal. Laurence looked like he wanted to bitchslap her, because his character did. He held nothing but contempt for her and the high table. As for Halle... me thinks someone is being more than a bit disingenuous. She did an absolutely great job. I loved the first two John Wick movies too. I enjoyed first more than the second, and this one absolutely blew BOTH out of the water. It is bar none the best in the series.
@justsomenerd89255 жыл бұрын
What was even the point of wasting the first half of the movie with John trying to find Aladdin in the middle of the desert, only to throw it all away .3 seconds later in the next scene? Halle Berry shouldn't be given anymore roles, she is a terrible actress, and the fight scenes in this movie were so unbelievable many in the theater just started laugh at the movie by the end.
@Kenshiro3rd5 жыл бұрын
Just Some Nerd Nice reductive logic there. Going by that logic, why bother with anything at all? It's literally about the journey he takes. Dude gets pushed to the very precipice of darkness, fighting to honor the memory of his wife. Only to realize she damn near lost his soul, everything she loved him for, to do it. Literally it's the journey he took to learn the lesson, that living for his wife means nothing... if he loses his soul and throws everything she loved away to do it.

Totally agree with this comment. Just saw this yesterday & had fun watching it. I love the simplicity of the story as well as the world building through the characters. The structure of each movie remains the same, even though they up the ante on the action. Example, each film has a scene where Wick prepares for the final showdown & we witness this subtle tutorial on the weapons he will use. It gives me the vibe of an 80's action film in some respects. Super bummed that Dacasco's character died (SORRY ABOUT THE SPOILER) cause I really liked him & loved that he was back on screen showcasing for a big budget action picture, & I hope to see the guys from the Raid films make a return for part 4.

I enjoyed the film but spotted 3 editing / directing problems that really stood out. (1.) Early in the film John is hit by 2 cars in the rain. The 2nd car stops and the assassin gets out of the car to fight Wick instead of just staying in the car and running over John before he stands up. (2. & 3.) There is a scene at a public transit station where assassins kill 2 or 3 other assassins that are closer to John. The crowd of dozens of normal people walking very near by ignore the assassins & dead men and walk on like nothing happened and the 2 or 3 dead men on the ground simply vanish in the next shot of the scene. WTF. But like I said, I still enjoyed the movie.

Golden Circled = they increased the weird/quirky stuff from the first movie that pulls you out of the movie. Man of Steeled = too much fighting for too long/fight fatigue. Otherwise, I'm a huge fan of John Wick. Sadly, I don't want the 4th, even though I know it's in pre production already. They are going to ruin the franchise.

I'm sad to say that I was a bit disappointed by JW3. The execution was flawless of course, but I was hoping the story would go in a different direction. I'm a real sucker for, "Lone rebel goes to war against the massive and cruel system they used to champion," kinds of movies and was hoping that's where this one was going to go. Equilibrium is a good example. The whole "Secret society of assassins" thing is starting to get a little bit unbelievable too. Is there anyone in the entire world who's *_not_* a part of this organisation? Where every person he bumps into knows his name? Is there such a thing as an ordinary civilian in the JW universe? I've got no problem suspending my disbelief, but they're pushing things a bit far... Anyway, looks as though they're setting up #4 to be the "goes to war with 'The High Table'" movie, so I'm looking forward to that. Neo and Morpheus working together again will be cool too.

The fight scenes did eventually just become white noise, but worse still was the incoherent story that really only plays out towards the end. Why does the "High Table" forgive Winston for "showing he could defend himself" When it was Wick who did all the work? If that's what they care about, wouldn't they realize that they're better off keeping the guy who can kill just about anyone with anything alive? How many assassins are they going to waste on him before they decide that they should just forgive him and have him work for them? Ultimately the movie just ends where it started. Nothing that transpired really mattered, except for maybe Wick losing a finger and his wedding ring. I guess I'm not supposed to think about any of this and just enjoy the murder gimmicks. Maybe in part 4 he'll kill someone with a paper clip.

John Wick was AMAZING... Everyone trembling at sound of his name; calling him the boogeyman... Low key guy turns out to be bad ass Russian assassin. Simple plot with 80% believable fighting and action. A refreshing no nonsense movie with a great lead actor. John Wick 2 was DUMB... All of a sudden no one is scared of the so called boogeyman. This guy just got done annihilating an entire Russian mob family but everyone has balls of steal now to come after him. The blood marker was a cool plot point, but could have been done so much better. Fighting and action was on par or slightly sloppier than the original. Keanu did a great job, the producer and director did not. John Wick 3 was a WASTE... The boogeyman doesn’t run away and then cut off his fucking finger only to put himself back into the same situation. So much of this movie could have been left out that it’s crazy. The consequences plot was decent, it’s nice to see what happens to characters after the credits roll. Gang members and other assassins complementing and respecting John was also a steer in the right direction. The fighting and action was substantially worse; so much so that you can actually tell it is a rehearsed dance. There is even a scene where the choreography is off and John blocks a kick before the kick is started. I had high hopes going into this movie that the sins of the part 2 would be cleared up and rectified. Instead, I got less quality, plot recycling, and the third act of a trilogy used to open another sequel instead of closing the book. Keanu did what he could with what was given to him, but the bad ass John Wick doesn’t feel like a threat anymore. The MANAGERS betrayal was a twist I didn’t really see coming, but it was too late in the movie. These types of movies need to be made by fans for fans. It might have started that way, but turned into a cash cow.

I thought this movie was hot garbage. I thought Halle Barry's acting was some of the worst I had ever seen, and I have no idea how she even got the part. The bit about the dogs is just completely over used in this movie, and I feel like they tried to outdo the other movies. Instead of just letting their work speak for itself. The fight scenes were by far the worst of the series, many parts it looked fake, and in too many scenes they have all parties involved pass up perfectly fine weapons to just punch each other. The entire first half of the movies plot to totally worthless, as John immediately breaks his promise to serve, and throwing away his second chance.

Just Some Nerd 3 was over the top, but that's part of what made its fights so fun. As for 1 & 2's being realistic... not really. As for worst story... 2 still holds that honor EASILY! Entirely fucking pointless... By your logic no less. Because he went through all that for NOTHING at the end. At least he gained something out of 3. Hell he even gained something out of his "pointless trip to Casablanca" as you put it. At the very least got the open contract on his head revoked. And now he's a legitimate threat to the High Table... given that he's no longer under it or their influence.

@@Kenshiro3rd I'm positive he got an open contract put on him again the second he betrayed the Arab guy in the desert.

OldLeatherHands&Friends just rewatched it. It was never revoked as he never completed his task. Dude was basically just under his of Dacascos' character who was ordered to protect him until the task was done or he betrayed them again.

the John Wick series is absolutely not an 80s nostalgia series. It is a video game. Complete with cut scenes, new levels, and each level having a new boss. It's the best video game movie series ever produced because it utilizes all the elements that make a video game good.

Yawn, you want PROPER action movies, check Asia - nobody does them better. The motorbike scene in this is a total, blatant rip off of the scene from the Korean classic, The Villaness. Chad just watched and copies Asian action films, hence why two of the martial artists from The Raid also feature in this movie.

This movie was total shit. The first one is the only good one.

I watch John Wick movies, but I don't really know why. They don't have a story or plot. There full of unrealistic fights and impossible stunts (the ending of this one was particularly over the top). He never accomplishes any thing, just deeper into shit. They are vehicles for over the hill actors, that could do so much better. Idea, hire writers next time, tell the origen of John Wick. Tell why he fights when there no reason to, when every thing is dead, including his soul, if he ever had one. Give him a past. Tell how he was built. Tell why he can be shot three times, fall out a five story building, hit three fire escapes, land with a splat, then scraped up, dumped out, and still be stong enough to be pissed. To kill again. Doesn't matter, they won't do this. And I'll watch the next one too. But I won't pay for it.

Actually this is a problem with all Hollywood blockbusters - they always have to go bigger, more explosions, bigger guns more fights etc. But the truth is as long as the Action is good, action fans won't complain. In the age of Marvel/DC and CGI fests this movie is an awesome treat. We need more movies like this bring back the 80s stoic badass action hero!

@@billparker5486 So you're saying these stunts are impossible, funny you should say that because Keanu Reeves does 90% of the stunts himself and he's not even a stuntman, he's an actor in his 50s. If what Keanu does is impossible, what does that make Keanu? A real life superhero? You're dumb.

John Wick 3 was a catastrophe. It was so cringy most of the time. Such a shame, nowhere close to the original.
