Outstanding trees, some from the first generation of Japanese artists to get west coast American bonsai off and running, as well as some new talent. I especially liked the clean staging and open air feel of the display. Found myself thinking of the 1934 Kokufu-ten photograph showing the tokonoma approach- isolating each tree from it's surroundings and contrasting that with this contemporary interpretation. Thanks for the visit!
