I've not tried the cask strength version, but did have a 50ml of the standard Blue Label in a tasting pack. To be honest, I preferred the JW 18 year old over the Blue, just a much more pleasant blend for my palate, and significantly cheaper (although I think still overpriced!). As you say, it's pitched for a different audience, and I'd never buy a full bottle. I do, however, have a bottle of JW Celebratory Blend at 51% that I got for around $90 NZD on sale that I'm looking forward to trying!

Nice video! I’ve not had the cask strength but have a bottle of blue. The best thing about the blue, is the bottle itself. The blue bottom and edges are stunning. It will be my last bottle once it is gone. At $200.00 in Florida for the blue, I can buy 2 bottles of several other whiskies that I enjoy more. On a side note, how is it possible that you have less than 2k subscribers? You must not have been at this very long, but you sure can’t tell. Very nice job on all of your videos.

Blue Label the standard one is an amazing whisky bought a few during my bachelor days , just an elixir that heals all your wounds kinda smoothness . Never had the cask strength, but I'll tell you this ... The Green Label for me is always a winner for me cause of the price , its all about the price for me I enjoy drinking Whisky and Blue Label is good but it's way to expensive . Me and my buddies can finish a couple of bottles of the Green Label a month( on sale you can get it sometimes for $40 usd here in the Philippines)and it won't hurt our wallets, might be short on the pallet but not our wallets 😎. I have a family now and can't touch the blue label anymore . Another great review , cheers Mate! 🥃

Lucky you brother, what an experience! I really enjoy drinking the Blue Label but of course it's priced unfairly and I personally will never buy a bottle. I'd love to try the cask strength version and especially the way you did it, side by side with the OG. This was a great video Wade, thanks for this!

If you like the standard BL, you will love The Casks Edition, but it's EXPENSIVE!

Nice Video, totally agree with your points. I come from South Australia well, just wondering is it still worth to buy Waubs Harbour’s whiskey with around $200 bucks at 500ml? And if yes, would you recommend Sullivan cove or this more?

Hi Li 👋 Yes I think Waubs Harbour has some great whiskies, I have tried 3 expressions and enjoyed them all! Whilst I can't say if they are a good value purchase for you specifically, what I can say is that Waubs Harbour is better than Johnnie Walker for certain, as is Sullivan's Cove, and I have purchased both and would absolutely do so again before spending the same kind of money on a JW Blue cask strength. Hope this helps 🥃

There is zero comparison almost, the high erabv is so superior to the standard. Blue label is such a disappointment in its standard edition.

Oh absolutely the Cask Strength is superior (how could it not be right), I think it's the price point that hurts the value perception of the standard Blue Label. I also know that I am not the target audience for this product 😉

@@eatsmokedrink I wouldn't say shithouse, it's not the worse I've had, not at all, it's that it's extremely overpriced. If it was a hundred dollars people would probably sing it's high praises

yes very true, I think the Utility vs price is the issue there. you are right, there are many whiskies that with the right price its a stunner but priced stupidly. JW BL is definitely that. carries such prestige for the price which is weird. but yes, i agree, if it was cheaper it is OK, but i rather have many other things than the BL. Hell, I would rather have a glendronach 15 or Aberlour, glengoyne, so many others in the 12 to 15 mark @@McIntyresMalts
