Loved the reaction and thank you for saying that we’re not as divided as the media (and in my opinion the politicians too) say. I grew up in a small town in Oklahoma and admittedly it had very little diversity back then but 30+ years later, my hometown is truly a melting pot of different ethnicities and cultures. I’m white, my husband is Native American and no matter where we’ve lived, I’ve never seen the kind bigotry and hatred the media says is happening so please keep sharing your message of inclusion because the more of us that stand against their false narrative the better.

BTW, shout out to Home Free for producing this masterpiece. And no, white as I am, I never thought black folks were anything but my equals - they were human just like me. I was born in 1970 FTR.

This version is soooo special. Lee Greenwood wrote and released this song and basically sang it the same beautiful way for DECADES. This was the 1st time he was able to cut loose knowing that someone was covering his part! When Adam starts that military snare, I am already emotional. But once that starts, tears every time. He does it in another video for Traveling Soldier which I think you'd like as well. Thank you for spreading positive light.

I just want to say, THANK YOU for saying what you did. It's true. Skin color is just a description. It doesn't touch on who we really are, and inside we really are the same. We are all equal in the eyes of God. It is society that chooses to divide us, and we are stupid if we let society make our decisions for us.

I'm glad you did this version! It amazes me they were all in different locations and ended up with such a beautiful production! I can't believe the focus on race today. I am almost 45 and I went to a High School that was very diverse, (It had over 2000 students) There were black and whites, Foreign exchange students from all across the globe, Asian Americans, American Indians, ect. And I never looked at anyone's race. I just saw them all as students. What has happened to the world today that everything is now seem through the lense of race? It's mind boggling to me. Another thing I see changing that is sad, is changing education into "you have to be a certain race" to get into certain institutions. Even graduating from High School, they have lowered the standards. I feel sorry for these poor kids that have been taught their skin color is more important than your merits. Unfortunately they will get a rude awakening once they are in the real world.

I had to repeat 5th grade due to divorce. I lost my way and didn't apply myself. Both of my teachers knew what I was capable of, and they advised my dad to "hold me back". I say that, to say this: One of those teachers was a black woman, who coincidentally has shares my last name. We played kick ball EVERY DAY at recess. EVERY SINGLE DAY! She was as enthusiastic about the game as we were. She was the Umpire. The only problem is that, well...... she didn't care which team won or lost 😆 The point is, your kick ball question brought this memory back to me. It was a tragic and special time in my life. I'm almost 45 now, and I will never EVER forget the woman who told my white dad, "Let me help him for another year".

Born in 52 so will be 70 this year. Believe me it was better to be in my 20s in the 70s than to be in my 70s in the 20s! Yes we all played together back then too. Most of us had our relatives living close by. I sometimes wish we could go back to those times.

Thank you so much, Johnnie, for listening to your viewers & re-doing this fantastic, patriotic song! Like I said, the other one was great but this one is a masterpiece! Lee Greenwood never sounded so good & he was 77 at the time this was recorded in 2020 & Home Free & the "Singing Sergeants" were amazing!!! Adam was the cherry on top with his "vocal percussion"! Home Free was here tonight but I'm having health issues that made me unable to go!😢

White girl here. Came across a smiling black family in family photo album. I asked my mom who they were. Turns out that my newlywed parents car broke down on their way from California to my dads home state of north carolina. It was 1950. My mom said that she and my dad were hopping trains and thumbing rides and about to freeze and or starve to death. A black man in his old truck picked them up when he saw what bad shape they were in. The man was a sharecropper in Alabama. He provided my mom and dad a cottage to live in and work for them both till they earned enough money to get a hold of an old car. They then got on their way to north Carolina but not before they got an important picture of these people who had literally saved their lives. My dad may have grown up with some prejudice being from north Carolina, but he was able to teach us to look for the kindness out there, not the color of peoples skin. This is just one story of kindness overruling everything thing else in my life such as skin color, nationality, language, and the list goes on😊
