Same. I saw the house many many times. Roy Orbison and Martina McBride also lived on Caudill Dr. Roy's house was right at the bend in the road before reaching the Cash home and Martina's was on the Right hand side up near the entrance of the neighborhood

If your Grandpa & Johnny were cousins, that would also make you a cousin to Johnny as well, just further down the line. Figure out if they were 1st, 2nd, or 3rd cousins then go from there. From your Mom or Dad's side. For example: My Mom has 1st cousins. They are my 2nd cousins, I have 2 sons, now my son's are 3rd cousins & finally my Granddaughter's 4th cousins. Stemming from my Mom having 1st cousins. I come from a huge family. Lol! We have tried to have a family reunion for over 10 years now but can never find a venue large enough to hold us all near our original homestead. When we do get together we are over 900 strong and counting. They multiple generations are mind boggling. As a planner, I must keep it all straight too! The last time we got together the hall could only hold 350 ppl. We had to have meals in 3 sittings. We also had a visit from the movie set "The assassination of Jesse James by That Coward Robert Ford" why? Because he is a cousin too! Lol! It's hard to keep it all straight, but I have family records going back to 1854. So look into how your Grandpa was a cousin, I am sure you will trace the path to find your link. All the best. 😊 Edited to add that after 3 yrs of planning we were supposed to have our reunion in August 2020. Covid-19 canceled it. We are trying to reschedule but it's going to be a while again. At least until it's safe to do so.

What in the world is a turntable?

I have not heard a record player called a turntable for a long time.

@@haroldcochan3971 A turntable is used to play Vinyl Records before CDs were invented in the early 1980s. You would stack several vinyl records and click the lock at the top of the stack. The first Vinyl Record would drop onto the turntable and a bar with a needle would move on to the edge of the vinyl record and the sound (music) would come out of the speakers. When your first record was done playing, the next one would drop down and the needle would move over onto the next record and begin to play. You needed to make sure that your record player was set to the correct speed. Nearly all of the records you can buy is one of three common speeds: 33, 45 and 78 rotations per minute, otherwise listed as RPMs. That term is exactly what it sounds like, referencing the speed at which the vinyl record you’re listening to is supposed to rotate on the turntable you’re using. If you play at the incorrect speed the music may sound a bit funny. When I was a teenager and a new song came out that we liked as a single, we would purchase the 45 record of that song. That song would be on the A side of the record and there would always be an additional song on the B side that you could play. Those 45 records were small…7 inches. When you purchased an album, which was referred to as an LP (long playing), the size was usually 10 inches. The number of songs can vary but are normally between 10 to 12 songs and 30 to 50 minutes in total. My family only had one record that was a 78 speed that was from my Mom’s childhood in the 1950’s. It only had one song on it. 78 speed records were made from a material called “shellac”. There was a shortage of this material during WW2 because this material was also used to make explosives. By 1960 all records were made from Vinyl and they stopped producing 78 speed records. I grew up in the 1960s & 1970s when vinyl records were popular. Before Digital Music was released in 1997, we had a 5 disc CD changer in my house and in my mini-van to play music. I have heard that people have gone back to purchasing and listening to vinyl records over the past decade.

@@RG-hf4et The second fire happened while workers were remodeling the house for Barry Gibb. The workers had just put a coat of wood perserving laquer on the wood -- and a spark ignited the fire. The rest is history.

Roy Orbison had two homes by Johnny Cash. The 1st house burned down in 1969, tragically two of his young sons died in that house fire, Roy Dewayne Orbison -10 yrs old, and Anthony King Orbison - 6 yrs old. It is believed that possibly one or both of the boys may have accidentally started the fire, no one knows for sure. Years later, Roy built another home not far from the house that burned. Roy was very distraught after the fire and sold that property to Johnny Cash, who later turned it into a garden in memory of the two boys. Roy’s 2nd house is still standing!

Samuel terry today is sept 3,2020 & just yesterday i was telling my grandson about our plymouth,a 1950s model guess late 1950s model. Can't remember the model though,we bought it used in 1964. It had the wings on the back,brown & white,& was pushbutton automatic!! We traded it in($100)tradein on 1965 mustang! First year they came out. Sky blue or powder blue,5 speed in floor,white leather interior.think we paid $1900 for the mustang.
