You are an amazing young man...I don't know you, but I'm so proud of what you have done! I could listen to you speak forever, your voice is relaxing and calm, and you are so inspirational; who couldn't be motivated to be good just by listening to you?! I was good up to your forgiveness of your dad, you made the first step then the walls came tumbling down, wow, it's incredible what God's love can do! I was truly moved to tears. (Thank God for your pastor who is so smart and knew what you needed to hear) I can't wait for the next part of your story! Love and peace from NJ!

I feel that man. I was the same way. Eventually my dad ran my 3 siblings out of the house with his abuse and I was the youngest and stayed til adulthood. Eventually he chilled out and started to show how much he actually wanted to do better. After forgiveness and healing me and my siblings finally have a good relationship with him. Respect to you for learning and growing

I was involved in the "life" for over half my life. My mother rest her soul , never gave up on me, never judged me or preached to me, always accepted me, but in that quiet way she slowly pulled me out that life to were one day we were haveing a coffee and i said mom i dont want do this no more im going to stop, i never went back to that life after we had that coffee. our relationship changed from mom and son to her becoming my best friend and then my mother, it was rough afte that coffee , i had to disappear for a while move out town but she was there when i was gone and there when i came back. sadly she passed 3 or was it 4 yrs later. but it was my honor to take care of her the same as she did my whole life. so never give up hope, just be there for your children, dont judge them, dont tell them how there life is bad, just talk about other things, anything but that life. they need to see/hear other stuff. let a small seed be planted. though my mother i found god, but it took 35 ish years. i was young and knew everything then i got older and released i knew nothing. now i have a wife, kids legally own everything in my life. i might be broke but im probably the happiest iv been in my soul, and that is all because of my mom and her quiet, accepting, none judgemental way. have faith, even if your faith falters , remeber the lords doesnt and he will be there all ways for you and your children. Much love from Alberta Canada. Happy new year.

Haven't talked to my dad in a long time. Never had a relationship with him. I am going to be in his area in MS and I am going to apologized to him for being a bad son, even though I know its not necessarily my fault. I have a family with a wife and 3 children, its been tough being the man of the house without an example but I've mad it this far. I've wanted to have a relationship with him for a long time AND I go through this cycle of happy, unhappy, fighting with my wife, apologizing to her, then yelling at her again because I loose my cool. Guess we will see what happens. Thank you Johnny and Michael.

Im trying to rebuild my life from the bottom up and today has been the kind of day where I haven't felt much hope. It's so incredibly difficult to get out of the justice system once you're in it. It's tough I was angry with God because I felt I got ripped off. Dad died when I was 10. He drank to forget the war and somehow thought it was his duty to toughen me up with the belt. I still remember from age 6 if you cry you'll get 2 more. I had an older brother that took no interest. Mom would read the Bible and prey and I was trying to punch a priest through the confessional. I finally started to listen to mom. Things got better got married had 2 kids. I swore I'd never let my kids experience what I went through. Well I felt there's something to Christianity so me and my wife accepted christ at calvary chapel. A week later she's gone. She was having a affair and I was now trying to figure out how to raise 2 kids. I had to sell my home give her half. I once again denounced my faith and things got worse. I called out God and asked why. Anyway my point Things don't change overnight. I quit asking why kept my promise to my kids. I spent the next 20 years doing 3 things working raising my kids and praying. Well both my kids graduated college. I finally get to live my life and bam moms gets dementia and I spend the next 6 years taking care of her. Talk about hell on earth. Anyway I'm retired and own my home . I thank God everyday for miracle he performed.

I truly believe he can help alot of people that are struggling and living in sin that are out there. Johnny my Brother. Your Testimony was Deeply Heart Felt. I myself was Birthed into a criminal lifestyle. It was a way of life, like it was just normal. I'm 61 now and my Father died in prison 30yrs ago at 72. I surrendered my life at 27, and at my Father's services there was a guy in prison with My Dad. This guy said My Dad decided to go to Church in there and Seen my Dad with his hands raised up to The Lord with Tears in his eyes. Bro I was So Greatfull that he made it. Listening to your story I can See how The Lord will reach many lives through you. God Bless You My Brother. Stay humble before Our Lord. May The Holy Spirit continue to guide you on your journey. Peace be with You 🙏🏼 ...

I am really glad you got his guy on your show Michael. I'm 10 older than him and have walked the same path. Its refreshing to get guests like him on. Full credit to all involved. I hope youths who are caught up in criminal activities and life can follow his example and come away from it. 👍

Great stuff… This interview, especially towards the end, almost had me in tears. I can relate to many things that Johnny went through. The abusive parents, gang lifestyle, addiction and all the shame and guilt that I have had to live with. I can’t say that I have 100% forgiven myself or my parents. But I’m working towards that. I’m happy you have found peace, Johnny. Many of us that had that lifestyle weren’t lucky enough to find. And I pray that they do. Thank you gentlemen for an eye opening experience… God Bless 🙏🏼
