Johnny Depp & Lawrence Krauss: Finding The Creativity In Madness.
Part 01 - • Johnny Depp & Lawrence...
Video by Black Chalk Productions
Join Golden Globe winner and renowned actor, producer, author and musician Johnny Depp and Origins Project director Lawrence Krauss for An Origins Project Dialogue, Finding the Creativity in Madness.
This dialogue is associated with a closed scientific workshop in partnership with the National Institutes of Health held to spark discussions of big, unanswered questions on how the brain and machines process patterns, aimed at understanding consciousness, intelligence, and madness.
This on stage discussion focuses on the humanity of madness, revealing Depp's experience and creative method as an actor who has portrayed such eccentric fictional and nonfictional characters as Edward Scissorhands, Hunter S. Thompson, Captain Jack Sparrow, and John Wilmot, Second Earl of Rochester while exploring and unraveling the intricate links between creativity and madness.

Johnny needs to stop putting himself down for being a dropout. A diploma does not make you intelligent or wise. Living life, a desire to learn, and maintaining your curiosity are the only things you need. His lifetime of learning far outreaches any lesson taught in a classroom. He should be proud of himself.

I was pulled out of high school, the last day of Gr 10, because, I needed to get to work, & support my precious Mom, & brother. In hindsight, I would have refused, but at 15 yrs old, I was excited, because, I was unaware of what lie ahead. I was registered in a Vocational School, which taught Keypunch Operator. It was in it's infancy, but was growing faster than you could keep up! It was a 12 week course. When I had been there 6 weeks, my teacher tapped me on the shoulder. I thought I was in trouble. I followed her, into her office, she motioned for me to sit down. 'What did I do wrong?' 'Oh Dear! You didn't do anything wrong. We've been watching you, & you're doing very well, you handle the old dinosaurs(4 of the oldest keypunch machine, that still ran), like the new machines! You have the same amount of keystrokes, with old, or new machines! We've got you a job, if you want to consider it?' So, I called my precious Mom, told her, & was she was so excited! 'When do you start? Do we get a refund from your Course? How much will you be making? Where is the job?' 'If you'd let me speak, I just found out! Shhhhhhh! I don't have a clue where, how much, when, I don't know anything, right now! I'll call back when I have something to tell you! Buh-bye." That's how my formative years started. The job was at Woodward's, I was slave labour, along with about 60 other women. We had to wear dresses, or skirts, & we got $50 dollars a week. This was in 1972. I was beyond thrilled when I got my crisp $50 bill! I loved working for a living. I had to commute 2 & 1/2, to 2 hours a day, so gas took quite a bit of pay. I had to pay for my living space, which coincidentally, was 1/2 my pay. So, I had money for cigarettes, & that was basically it! I wanted to go back to high school. One day, on my way to work, I was turning left, onto the street called Sterling, off Hastings. It was drizzling as it usually is in British Columbia, & I was in a bright red car. I had pulled out, light turned yellow, I pinned it!💥💥💥💥! I could smell gas, I heard screaming, I couldn't see, except really blurry! Where were my glasses? I scratched my arms, & I had blood all over my hand. Then, in the passenger side, the window was broken, & some man looked like he was screaming at me! I just kept watching him. Finally, I asked if he could find my glasses. He did. He started telling me, I was in a bad car accident, while trying to get me out of the car. That proved difficult(the jaws of life would've been a huge help, but they weren't invented yet,), but he finally got me out the passenger window. Then, I remember floating over to a service station, & sat on a really comfy chair. He called my Mom, so it would be at least an hour. A nurse came in the garage, told them to get 2 bottles of Coke. Then, she made me proceed to slowly drink them. She said, 'We have to keep your electrolytes up, or you'll go into shock. NOBODY KNEW ABOUT ELECTROLYTES IN 1972! AND, MOST CERTAINLY, COKE WAS PACKED WITH THEM, SO IF SHE KNEW ABOUT, WHERE WAS SHE FROM? MOM WENT TO THAT BUS STOP, FOR 2 MONTHS, AND THEY NEVER CAME THERE AGAIN, PLUS ADS IN ALL THE BIG NEWSPAPERS, BUT NO ONE EVER ANSWERED, BECAUSE, THEY WERE ONE OF MY MEETINGS WITH ANGELS! THE WOMAN WHO HIT ME, CLAIMED, 'I DIDN'T SEE THE PINK LIGHT.' SHE SOUNDED LIKE SOFIA VERGARAS(spelling). She hit the car going in excess of 90 miles a minute. There was space enough, between the 2 cars for transports to meet & pass between. See ya!

I feel you but he also said it as a joke in the moment because he respects Lawrence so much as an "academic", he probably doesn't give a shit that he was a dropout. The context of when it was said here is more important than the fact that he mentioned being a dropout in the first place. It was just a quick joke and that's it🤷‍♂️

Obviously Johnny my love, you are much more talented than the best of college graduates. So, shut up! We’ll have none of that regret. Not continuing is why you have been free to expand that brilliant mind. Besides, you are so easy on the eyes anyone would love being near you with those looks, that humor. You go baby!

This was a really wonderful interview with Johnny. The only parts I did not like was him mentioning the dementor. As an actor, Johnny is phenomenonally talented; he can become literally anyone. I have always believed he is one of the most genuine, kindest, funniest, smartest and coolest people on this planet. One of the many things I love most about him is his approachability: he is so accepting and welcoming of everyone, especially his fans. There is absolutely zero ego even though it is allowed considering his amazing repitore. It would be such an incredible experience to sit down and talk with him. I and millions of others are rooting for you Johnny!! I wonder if in his discussion of truth and "bringing your own truth.." did he foreshadow the tsunami that was about to hit him hard. How I wish you never made the rum diaries movie or that someone sane was cast to play opposite you instead. You have been through so dam much and so completely unnecessarily. We are right here with you until the end, Johnny. Your true fans have got your back and won't rest until you are liberated completely. #justiceforjohnny #onlyonejohnnydepp ❤❤❤❤

Bless you for how you care and for how you are able to see and understand so much. You have much to share with people that need to hear you! Don't stop! That is desperately needed. Have you ever considered creating a program for youth to help make it easier for some who have suffered in their childhood and might benefit by your wisdom? God bless you and keep you free and safe from all harm and danger. I recognize that so many people know you and love you for who you are. I'm certain we will all be praying for you and your freedom and safety. Much love from a senior citizen.

I like listening to him talk, Johnny Depp is very soft spoken and not at all intimidating and very humble. You would never mix him up as being an actors, actor. He is unlike others in his line of work. It's truly nice to see that because it really doesn't exist in the world. I love his voice it's very soothing to listen to him talking. Relaxing and calm. It's like when he's been forced to raise his voice it almost hurts him to do that. Because of the mono tone of his voice. I don't know if anyone gets what I'm saying. But, that's my feelings and thoughts. I've always love that about him he can read the uninteresting magazine articles and I'd listen he has that kind of voice.... 🥰🥰

Johnny has translated all he knew/learnt/missed out on, into his acting experiences which explains why he is so unique with his craft... He rationalises who he is, because of where he came from, and made sure never to "repeat the sins of the mother"....ditto....so enjoyed this, and no, i still havent watched Don Juan DeMarco lol....

Johnny Depp is the most accomplished actor to have come along in such a long time. He is truly a GREAT one!!! Stay out of the bottle, Johnny, and the world is your oyster!!! You have such amazing talent for getting into the character you're playing, it's uncanny. I am so glad to have watched you grow as an actor and a person. Please try to stop disfiguring yourself so you will not be so good looking. You ARE good looking so just accept it and go forward. Make some movies under your OWN face. Let us, your fans and the public, see the real you. I know they will absolutely love you for it. Good luck in your future endevours. May you always have the best, perform the best, because you are the BEST!!!!!

Jonny Depp is one of the greatest actors of all time. I love 💕 his movies. He is a sweet, kind, and gentle person!! He deserves better than the hand that has been dealt to him!!! I pray 🙏 for justice for Jonny!! Hollywood needs to keep hiring him to make more movies!!! We don’t want to lose seeing him on screen over Amber Jezabelle Heard. She married Jonny to get more fame and planned from the beginning to use him and tried to set him up. She was violent and a serial cheater!! Jonny is hot and can get someone who appreciates him for the wonderful person he is!!! Prayers for Jonny going up!!! Love 💕 ya Jonny!! Keep your chin up!!! The truth always comes out in the end!!!’

He is not known as a cheater, which is very hurtful to partners, children, families & friends. Yet we are not vilifying cheaters. Men in the Hollywood system or popular music are kinda admired for being ladies men. Maybe this is the next sin the do gooders will impose its will upon. I don’t believe that Johnny abused Amber. I think he got roped into the campaign to finally expose the abuse powerful men were inflicting on women. I see a pendulum that swung to it furthest grabbing a man who was trying to fix/help his lover/abuser & due to recordings, where in he occasionally argued back, raised his voice and on a very bad day attacked his kitchen cupboards, he is assumed to be physically violent to Amber. She pushed his buttons so we can imagine (we have other examples who did exactly this) he finally occasionally snapped & hit her. I hope her testimony tomorrow & the rest of the evidence shows her for the liar & abuser she actually is.

Finally someone who understands how I think. I was always the oddball with everyone looking at me like I was a crazy bug in their drink. I tried to play act to meet the expectation of others but never could because it felt wrong. I have always been able to hear more than others. Hearing tests proved that but to me there has always been noise even in silence. I am also an Empath so I feel and perceive the emotions of everyone and everything around me. To use Johhny's term it is a cacophony of sound and emotion that never stops. I am comfortable with that now but I wasn't always and at times it can become overwhelming. I also know the lies people hide from themselves. To me they are obvious and always have been. Finally I have been stripping away the false fronts I have worn because I no longer have the patience to support them. I fold and manipulate energy. Always have. It is second nature to me. I recently came up with an explanation for someone I care about that explains what I do. I give energy to lift you up. When you give me energy I magnetize it to attract more energy so it grows. Which magnetizes more to attract more. Then I give you more energy and repeat the cycle. A good analogy is Johnny Depp's fans responding to him and his responding back to them back and forth. It draws them to him which draws others as long as the interchange continues. The characters he creates are all pieces of himself that he exposes a bit at a time. Personally I love his revelations in his characters. I cherish and savor them as I would a fine wine because they are worthy of that and so is he. Even the negative parts are cherished because they are all part and parcel of him and who he is. Most people try to kill or at least hide their negative bits. Truthfully we are a precarious balance of both our good and bad. One cannot exist without the other. We have Free Will so we choose what we manifest but the opposite still exists at least in an energy form. For what I do and what Johnny does when the interchanges stop the energy withers. It can always be revived with another set of interchanges. I try to do mine out of love but at its base I need to do the interchanges to survive so I can use any emotion that is available at the time. I know very few are aware of this sort of thing even though we live in a sea of energy. After all we live inside a huge bio-electric field called Earth with its own feelings. I will stop here because this got a lot larger than I expected it to. Please comment. I would love to continue the conversation. (copied from my Facebook post)

Thank you, Johnny, mentioned for an example Don Juan De Marco with Marlon Brando and Fay D, as one of my absolute favourite! The sensitive loving kindness that comes out in between the lines in that movie, are so warmhearted and the beautiful invitation taking once hand is such a good way to show when people really wants to get closer to one another by a genuinely curiosity and by letting go as far as possible like going on an great adventurous journey to a place you didn’t know of where they really meet each other, incredible nice💕 More of that could do our world a much better and a loving place to everything that lives and will be borne in the future on our lovely Mother Earth🙏 I am greatly appreciate you as well as an amazing actor. And thank you, W(?) for the interesting moments of an amazing interview and for the entire effort you paid for us that loves Johnny❤️

When Joe Rogan came under fire & who he is was being perverted by an entertainment industry who had not a clue nor any desire to discover who he is or why people are so interested in his content. When asked how he was handling the 'takedown campaign' launched against him on a global scale, He said these words, "I'm not worried. There is so much from me in the public domain, that the people who listen to my show know me, some, have known me for decades. They listen for 3 hours a clip. Almost 2000 podcast for 12 years. They have been invested in me for a long time, so you can't fool them or lie to them because they know I never have." I feel that exact same way about JD. I will tell you I was happy to have my confidence confirmed in both cases. There is so little Truth one can count on in this world. So when you find a pillar that can not only withstand the storm but come out stronger and more firmly planted in the ground, well that is definitely something to hitch ones wagon to, I.M.O Always remember... Integrity begins with I ☮️❤️😊☯️ #NeedForTruth
