7:00 I don’t feel bad for Elaine, because of her behavior: 1) Imitating JD voice in court was absolutely disrespectful coming from an officer of the court 2) Her line of question during Waldman’s deposition were malicious to insinuate JD’s lawyer is hiding something when all he was doing was attorney-client privilege (and she knows this was privilege. That was dirty tactics! 3) Her line of questioning “what if anything” as a cure all after objection… she was lucky the judge was easy-going, because some judge would have cut her crap sooner. 4) Her constant misrepresentation. It’s one thing to try to trap a witness, or present only the “good sides” of your case, but it’s another thing to misrepresent testimonies. That’s just some of the reasons why I have no sympathy for Elaine…

@@jb2599 The reason why narcissism gets more attention nowadays is that many influential people have traits from the »dark triad«. It refers to three distinct but related personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy. You might not like these terms. But when you speak about »being nuts« you refer to it, basically. Plus, narcissistic women get misdiagnosed with BPD very often. Maybe she's »just« borderline and histrionic. But I would suspect she has NPD on top of that. Or as you would say: »She's nuts.«

Faking notetaking indicates narcissistic and manipulative behavior. With everyone's watching, she wants to look intelligent and attentive; however, this action exposes her to be vapid and disinterested in everything except how she is perceived. My parents do this with my younger sister. She’s the prettiest and I began to notice they let her get away with anything and would blame other people for her mistakes. Bad grades? Someone else’s fault! Skipping school? It’s not her fault, she’s just sad! Doing drugs? She is innocent and was forced to do it! People calling her out on her BS? Everyone is just jealous of her! Yup it was ridiculous. And unfortunately she will go into the world believing she can do whatever and will never have to take responsibility for anything. She likes to charm people and manipulate them to give her what she wants and it was cute as a kid but now as a grown woman, it’s causing damage to herself and to our family. But my parents will never see it that way, it’s the world against my sister.

I totally understand this. My sister is 8 years older than me, and is my only sibling. Growing up, even though there was a huge age gap she got away with everything because she is the prettier one. She didn't have to do the yard work chores like I did, and they bought her a really nice car when she got her license at 16. When I turned 16, even though our parents were very well off financially, I got my dead grandma's Oldsmobile from 1988....which was the year I was born. The list of discrepancies goes on and on and on. Was I appreciative of having a vehicle? Of course I was, but I still to this day resent my parents for getting my sister a sports car that she didn't earn, and just giving me a hand me down that they couldn't sell. I know it makes me sound spoiled, but it doesn't change how I feel....that I was always 2nd best because I wasn't as pretty, nor was I popular like my sister. I was a quiet nerd with glasses and because of that, my parents didn't see my achievements. My sister was the extrovert and cheerleader, while I was the introverted girl who had my nose stuck in a book most of the time. It screwed me up for a long time since I felt invisible and had to work for every nice thing I had, but now I know that because of what I went through, I'm a genuine person who values all people and hard work....while my sister to this day whines about everything and expects the world to just hand her everything, and judges everyone see deems as beneath her, very harshly. Sorry for the rant, but I really related to your comment, and it brought up a lot of emotions I haven't thought about in a while.

I don't feel bad for her. Amber doesn't feel bad for what she has done, she only feels bad that she got caught. She can cry a sob story but what goes around comes around and now she knows how it feels to be exploited. That is what she did. Not that Johnny is doing the exploiting. He is clearing his name and showing that men can be abuse victims too...mentally emotionally and physically. She tried to destroy him in every way possible, so she should have thought about before doing that to another human being. Very cruel and mean spirited person. Now she wants us to feel sorry for her. The emotional manipulation just never ends with this woman. Everything she did to Johnny, right after she did it, she would run and tell everyone that's what he did to her. How mentally abusively taxing on the victim is that. I couldn't live with myself either if I didn't at least try and get justice. My soul would deterioate and that's exactly what she wanted, but she ain't getting his soul. Back up B

I heard JD raise his voice once or twice in the recordings, and I heard AH sounding 'distressed' once. What I DIDN'T hear, was JD raising his voice CAUSING AH to become distressed. The times when JD became loud, AH was louder and more confrontational. Alternately, the times AH became distressed, JD was calmly talking, saying he wanted to leave, or "Let's stop and talk again in the morning", etc, etc. You can't take the RESULT of one argument (AH becoming distressed), and confuse it with the EVENTS of a different argument (one where JD raised his voice). She was NEVER scared or intimidated by JD in ANY of the arguments they had, ... she was provocative and confrontational. This is probably a poor analogy but ...... If a couple have the type of 'intimate' relationship where they engage in acts that require a 'safe word' (an extreme PHYSICAL encounter). Then if they BOTH agree, that's not abuse. However, if one partner isn't 'in the mood' and the other partner insists, that IS abuse. Even though it is the same two people engaging in acts that they both may have willingly engaged in at other times. Likewise, if your partner calls you a: "Old f#*king, washed up, fat piece of sh!t, etc, etc". And you retaliate: "You're a dirty f#*king, no good stinking whore, etc, etc" (an extreme VERBAL encounter). That, also, is NOT abuse, because BOTH parties have decided to throw reason out the window, and instead unload on each other and let off some steam. It CANNOT be abuse if both parties are willingly participating. (You may tell them that "This doesn't solve anything", etc, etc, ... but, at the end of the day, it's THEIR relationship and if that's what they BOTH want to do, then it's nobodies business but theirs). Abuse is when ONE party forces the other party to participate in something (physical or verbal) that they don't want to be part of. And from what I've seen in this trial, it was AH who constantly forced JD into arguments he did not want to be part of. THAT is abuse. My concern is that the jury may, incorrectly, make a correlation between the OUTCOME of one confrontation (AH crying), and the events of a different confrontation (one where JD raised his voice), and conclude that JD was abusive. If AH isn't made accountable for ALL her perjury and sent to jail, it will be a travesty of justice

To add to Amber's current psychological and abusive tendencies, Asmon didn't mention her rampant drug abuse during her younger years, and especially when she was married to a career addict like Johnny Depp.

It's true. Our society values young, pretty women. More broadly, you can say, our society values youth and attractiveness over depth and character. As a woman, I am very familiar with this phenomenon. As I age I become more and more invisible and people in general are less friendly to me.
@Nyarurin
@Nyarurin 2 жыл бұрын
As far as i understand this phenomenon it goes like this. Women are born with intrinsic value to society of being able to produce offspring. The healthier and prettier they got lucky to be - the more weight this intrinsic baseline value they poses. Men on the other hand are born with little to no value. As just 1 male can be served to create a lot of offspring - they individually posses no value for that purpose. This whole situation formed our expectations from both genders. As to where women are mostly judged by their looks while men are judged by how good of a provider they were able to build out of themself going 0 to hero. As someone who hates the role mother nature designated to me, I certainly find this whole situation unfair and kinda depressing. But it is what it is. Life is cruel and unfair thing. At least i didn't born blind or with a missing leg or hand. There are ppl who got it a lot worse.

what is going through amber and her lawyers heads while shes "taking notes"? if her lawyers told her to do this, they made her case a lot worse in the eyes of the public at least. if she just did this on her own terms, what was the lawyer behind her thinking when she passed him blank notes? probably regret for taking her case

@@moxiemaxie3543 I agree with the principle tbh. Justice should be as fair as possible and for that guilt has to be proved without a shred of doubt and at the same time the punishment should be as equal as possibly permitted by the law to the offense.

I don't think Elaine repped her in the UK case... She's gone through a few different lawyers throughout the years. Some who did the depositions for this trial in 2019, like Josh Drew or whatever his name is, aren't on the same team.

I like Asmons assumption about this type of people. I just want to add one thing. It isn't necessarily only about them being hot that lets them off the hook. It is also them being super charming and manipulative that makes others kinda accepts it, little by little. The switch between being effed and being wonderful is incredibly irregular, unexpected and confusing, but since you have seen the wonderful side, you are at risk of accepting it. Like "well, she has a day a week when she is a lil batshit cray, but 6 days of the week she is the best thing ever happened". The issue is that when this normalizes, suddenly she is nice 1 day of the week and effed 6 days of the week 1, year later. Other than that, i agree 100% wih the assumption, since looks helps them a lot, and the will to 'fix' or "heal" them makes you at even more vulnerable. Spoken from experience
