Wow 1974 Had some crazy fashion! Johnny's jacket could have been a test pattern for old time TVs.

When a buddy saw a tie I was wearing, he said "Somewhere in town there's a '57 Chevy running around w/out any seat covers".

I worked around him on the film The Island back in the summer of '79. He was a real gentleman. After the day was over, and we at the bar, he and grip named Chunky Hughes would sing English drinking songs. They knew them all and never sang the same song twice.

As far as push-ups and running Mr. Caine, a veteran, served in combat in The British Army during The Korean War. About Communist Government he said, "Seeing first-hand how the Chinese used human wave tactics, he was left with the sense that the Communist Government did not care about its citizens. Having been previously sympathetic towards the ideals of Communism, Caine was left repelled by it."

Great to see Sir Michael 50 years ago, oh, how time flies, I always enjoy his multidimensional films, a tremendous versatile actor (retired recently) wish him many more years of health and happiness, a brilliant intuitive actor and an all around fantastic gentleman. Johnny was the Goat. No one comes close. I stay up every night to see him and when he was not in that chair it just was not the same. He had to be the great to get viewers to stay. King of Comedy for sure. Even hosting the Awards he just was so funny.

Im a 26 asian and i watch him almost every day, johnny is a legend world wide! He allowed me to discover amazing people like bob hope, rodney dangerfield, don rickles, frank sinatra and his rat pack, and many more. Absolutely the best tonight show ever!

@@J35Y1Ah, well, a young lad with common sense and smarts, well done. Johnny never disappoints, lots of his guests have become legends, many of them got their start on the tonight show. I’m an old man, no regrets here, I started watching his show when he started in 1962, in my humble opinion only Craig Ferguson and Conan O’Brian are 2nd and 3rd best hosts, best regards to you.

On the upcoming occasion of what would have been Audrey Hepburn's 95th birthday on May 4th, I'd like to make a request for Audrey's appearance on the Tonight Show (March 30, 1976), and for two reasons: It was (I think) the only time Audrey appeared on the show and, according to Carson, it was the only time he ever got flustered and nervous in front of his interview subject. To paraphrase Johnny in 1987: "[Audrey was] very... not aloof - proper is maybe the best word... and I didn't know how to handle it. I don't know why. I was babbling and I completely fell apart."
