Johnny Marr playing the Smiths "How soon is now" live in Lisbon on festival Super Bock em stock
I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir
Of nothing in particular
You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way?
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does
I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir
Of nothing in particular
You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way?
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does
There's a club if you'd like to go
You could meet somebody who really loves you
So you go and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home and you cry
And you want to die
When you say it's gonna happen "now"
When exactly do you mean?
See I've already waited too long
And all my hope is gone
You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way?
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does
Compositores: Johnny Marr / Steven Patrick Morrissey

Great voice now it’s come on so much over the years now as he’s developed as a guitar playing singer, now he has so much more confidence vocally, he once said to me that we were both guitar playing singers, meaning guitarists firstly who then both took up singing with our bands not singers who play a bit of guitar (like a few chords) and he’s so right it makes a huge difference, you may think in the words of Morrissey ‘What difference does it make?’ But ‘Such a little thing makes a big difference!’ Something I’ve always remembered and taken on board from chats with Mr Marr himself, a huge privilege I must say. And I don’t think I really need to say anything about his guitar playing apart from lovely & impeccable!!

He's a genius, and besides that a very friendly person. I had the opportunity to met him after the concert, and we was so polite to chat, autograph and taking pictures with us. Such a star...

acrfactor yes mate sounds fantastic! He is by far the most down to earth rock star I think we’ll ever meet, as you said incredibly polite, friendly, gracious & humble, which is pretty amazing really when he’s got to the level he has and played with just about everyone decent or important to the music scene, and compared with so many others who have made it big and simply don’t have an ounce of Johnny’s talent can be obnoxious, rude and frankly Mr Shankly think they’re bigger as better than they are or deserve to be, that’s only in my opinion obviously.

Big mouth and Getting Away. I saw The Smiths live, once, at Tulane McAlister Auditorium (New Orleans) in 1987. I would have loved to just see Johnny Marr recently. I love that man. But I would have had to travel to Houston to see him open up for The Killers. I can't understand why he doesn't apparently have the traction in the U.S. to headline. I mean come on. If Johnny Marr played New Orleans, I guarantee that show would sell out. But we're not like the rest if the country.

Clearly.Johnny is fantastic but there is only one Morrissey..... His delivery, style, tone, range, quirkiness, mood, and sarcasm comes through in his vocal.... Very hard to be that expressive and play an instrument at the same time... Some artists can do it but they are rare... I think Johnny sounds great doing these tunes but he doesn't have that "extra" vocally... Too bad ego gets in the way, these guys should be performing together until they are 100 like The Stones.....😁
