Country music, REAL country music, doesn’t get any better than this!

Paycheck is the only one to play this song cause it comes from his heart
@karenenderle5323 жыл бұрын
I was always miffed at Nashville not giving Paycheck his due, seemed he had to fight for everything....he was up there with the best....Thank God good hearted men like George Jones and Merle Haggard knew the talent and they nurtured him and never judged him, lifted him up and was there for him when he fell. That is what true Christians do, sad to say Nashville executives are and were lacking in that area. God Bless these two men!

They gave all to music and have now given their lives. With that said they will never be forgotten. More talent on those two stools then there is in today's entire music industry. RIP Hagg and Paycheck you are missed.

@@tkinney80 the pain in his voice,,,,, so vivid..... that man went through so much, but keep moving and Thank God,,,,he had so much to give to us all! Johnny Paycheck did NOT get enough credit for his talents, except for the true artists,,,they knew!

Rip brothers. They are two of the great country music icons we will forever miss. The music from back then is so different from the stuff we have today. An it is sad to hear the stuff today, but we have people singing the old songs for the younger crowd and they don't realize those songs were written by the old ones from many years ago.
@amberlilly41015 ай бұрын
I have always loved this song and hearing Johnny Paycheck, and Merle sing this is special. And, you are so right about the music of today being so different of yesteryear.The older country music singers had their own style, with a different and unusual voice. Todays music seems like they all sound alike. One of the wonderful things about these great musical artists is that it can live on with these recordings even though they are gone. How I love these old timers. I think one of the reasons I particularly like this is that I feel like an "old violin" myself I am now 74 yrs old. I wonder who wrote this song. Maybe Johnny himself ?

Well, I can't recall, one time in my life I've felt as lonely as I do tonight I feel like I could lay down, and get up no more It's the damndest feelin', I never felt it before Tonight I feel like an old violin Soon to be put away and never played again Don't ask me why I feel like this, hell, I can't say I only wish this feelin' would just go away I guess it's 'cause the truth Is the hardest thing I ever faced 'Cause you can't change the truth In the slightest way. I tried So I asked myself I said: 'John, where'd you go from here?' Then like a damned fool I turned around and looked in the mirror And there I saw, an old violin Soon to be put away and never played again So one more time, just to be sure I said: 'John, where in the hell do you go from here?' You know that when a nickel's worth of difference And I looked in the mirror, that's when I knew That there I was seein', an old violin Soon to be put away, and never played again And just like that, it hit me That old violin and I were just alike We'd give our all to music And soon, we'd give our life
