To glide to the cliff: super charge down the ramp, press x at the very end to jump while still holding square. At the peak of the jump, release square and press x to glide. It is extremely difficult to get the timing right, but if you follow all of these steps exactly it does work. (Embarrassed to admit how long it took me...)

This is the PAL version, and this was the intended music for this level not the music we in the NTSC region got.

Those spiders are the reason I never completed the game 120%. I was afraid of those things when I was a kid and i still hate them.

OMFG! I have the worst arachnophobia even when dealing with some games. As a child I just gave up trying to complete this level 100% because those things scared me so bad. When I was older I bought game and completed every level with the exception of this stage... It literally took me a year just to face my fears and try and collect the gems those horrid creatures harbored. *shivers* UGH! I still hate those ugly bastards...

I had a big fear of spiders as a kid, when it came to dealing with those giant metal bugs I had to hand the controller off to my older brother. Because I couldn't concentrate, I would be just running in a panic from them because I couldn't hit them with Supercharge.

If I remember correctly those spiders had one of the most bull***t hitboxes ever. Cause I remember trying to jump and glide over them only for me to get hurt IN MID AIR even though I was clearly over the mandibles and NOT EVEN TOUCHING THEM!

i like this European version of the High Caves song better than the American one i play, being its related to Tree Tops, which is not my favorite level.

I'm not too too afraid of spiders anymore, but still these things make me feel a tad bit uneasy. I remember the first time I can here I was like "Let's charge into the cave." and when I saw them I was like "Holy Shit! Fucking run!"

I like the Tree Tops music for this level more. Gives the level a creepier vibe imo

The music always seems to load up a few seconds late in the PAL version of this level. Also the music's cooler, and Cyrus is Green in the American version.

FOR EVERYBODY STUCK ON THE JUMP AT 3:53. When you're running down the ramp, keep holding down the square button and jump at the end of the ramp, then when you get to the top of your jump release square and glide. The most important part is jumping off the end of the ramp while holding square at the same time

When you release all 3 of the dragons in this realm the music playing during the cutscenes is that from Dark Hollow.

I think this level caused my arachnophobia... Its the metal that causes panic because you can't hurt them normally. I think they're the only enemy in the game (along with the knights) you can only beat with supercharge or superflame? But the knights don't chase you...

This is May favorite level, and the shortest one! Look how fast he got to the end! But of course if you want to complete the game you gotta do more

What an awesome game. what I loved most about it was how it was both very funny and chaallenging at the same time. Many games for kids , or rather younger audience, seem to lack that challenge and doesn't push them enough. It's sad...

In the PS1 version of this realm upon entering, it's one of the few levels where Spyro does not do his aerial backflip when he arrives.

The fact that the dragon cutscenes in this realm play the music from Dark Hollow only applies to the PS1 version.

I might have to skip this level because of the jump at 3:53 I just don't get flung high like in this vid... I'm always too low no matter what I do. At least it doesn't cost you lives since I lost all but 6 trying to get past the spiders and I have tried over 10 times to make this jump. Yes I'm new to this game, got it on the vita.

In some versions of Spyro 1 High Caves music is a slowed down version of the Tree Tops music.

I have beaten Spyro the Dragon 1 and can access to Gnasty's Loot.

I'm just here comparing ps1 to ps4 versions, and some mapping and characters don't match up! I was curious to see what it looks like. So far the playthrough is the same for me and I'm a fan of these games. The spiders look fully different!
