Pls do something with the engine, like putting it on a boat or drag car

You have GOT to do a 30s rat-rod coupe with this thing! Big ol' Mickey Ts on the back, side pipes, chop-top, no-hood rat-rod.

The engineering and machining on these models are phenomenal.

At the beginning of the test run, it sounded like a 2 stroke mopped. I was even thinking if it was due to the small piston size however after the adjustment of the timming, man, it sounded like a baby V8! Great job!!!

What if you connect those engines to a heavy flywheel like thing, it would make easier to idle at a lower RPM and also show better the sound of it under load

I can't believe how good that idle sounds on that tiny engine. Actually, the whole range and throttle response is awesome for such a small engine. I think that idle sounds better than the other engines he's built.

If you pull the head off one bank, a regular flathead V8 can still run off the remaining 4 cylinders (poorly obviously). Wonder if the the model can do the same

even got cross-grinding patterns in the cylinder liners. quite sophisticated engine model.

I’m surprised you don’t need to put petroleum jelly on the sleeve before inserting it into the block and o-ring seals. Love these tiny motors. You know Johnny, there is a fellow that builds tiny motor to scale that make real power. I believe he machines everything in house. I think he works for Hendrix at nascar. The motors are miniature stock car engines and are quite a bit bigger then these, maybe 4-5 times larger. They make real horse torques and would be awesome in one of your projects and I’m sure you could go there and build it with him. It be an awesome project.

Wow! This is REALLY different! First time I've seen a flathead with the exhaust ports actually run through the heads. I thought I was seeing things at first, until you put those little U-tubes coming out in between the intake ports on the manifold. It actually seemed to run pretty well after you advanced the timing a bit. Pretty cool little engine, and even cooler that it uses what looks like, almost the same block as the OHV V-8!😉👍👍

This V8 has one of the most interesting valvetrain design choices ive seen. Its not pushrods, but it still has a similar setup. The heads really are flat....

I’d have to say despite being a side valve and a step back in tech it’s appearance is of higher quality! I’m impressed with the main caps and bearings.

Took me a minute to figure out what they were doing with that weird intake setup, but now that I get what they're doing I find it actually pretty darn clever. I'd really love to have one of those, but it's a bit pricey for something that I would probably just having sit on a shelf to stare at and run once in a while. Lol. Anyway, that was a great build video. I can't wait to see what you end up doing with it.

You should supercharge it but build your own Latham axial flow supercharger for it! You are seriously a machining wizard.

Awesome kit. It's an interesting contrivance that the exhaust path travels from the head to the block, only to go back into the head again.

That top pipe is installed wrong, again. You've got two crush washers on the top, and one O-ring on the bottom. That's now how banjo's work lol

Try setting the idle timing advance to about 7 to 10 degrees before top dead center

Routing the exhaust up through the heads seems like a nice compromise, instead of through the block.

Johnny, Please look into building a laver to accelerator rather than using hands for the Carbs. Strong solid table to prevent motor from vibrating. :) Thanks Johnny
