PABLO, their leader (the one in the Green jacket) wrote that song lyrically and composed it as well. He asked the group for their inputs. Pablo writes and composes almost all of their group songs. You'll find him credited for the lyrics and/or music in ALL SB19 SONGS and MVs. Fun fact: MAPA was actually first conceptualized on a random laundry day where Pablo just suddenly popped the question "What do you want to tell your parents?" while the group was doing their laundry in between concerts. This was when they were on tour in the Philippines way back in 2020, and they were away from each of their homes. This was revealed by the group in one of their interviews or vlogs, I believe.

They embodied this song because they made it themselves, thru Pable their leader.

MAPA was a great decision to showcase on The First Take. This song resonates with any audience and for centuries after! They were just absolutely AMAZING! Eating CDs for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midnight snacks lol. So incredibly proud of Josh and Justin and how much they've improved vocally. They were already good to begin with, but they just refined it even more. And Josh's part with the conviction he sang the lyrics especially knowing his background😭 IYKYK

You say "tahan na" to your kid to tell him/her "it's okay/I'm hurting too when I see you cry/your Dad/Mom is here now, no more worries" It is a verbal equivalent of a parent's hug. You are not supposed to tell an adult to "tahan na." It's never said by a offspring to a parent. But MAPA is just something else. It is a reverse lullaby (Lataratrara). That is why it hits hard.

Pablo the leader of the group wrote that song. It was during the pandemic , story of the song they were all tested positive, they were quarantined in one condo unit and while Pablo and Stell doing their laundry Pablo asked Stell what they want to say to their parents and that's it MAPA (short for Mama And Papa) was created. The music video is only a lyric video because it's pandemic era. After 3 years it has 100M views.

I just got goosebumps during the whole performance that's how good they are! This is one hell of a performance by SB19! Pablo was the one who wrote this song but with the inputs of the rest of the members...That's how they usually make their songs, Pablo always asked them their ideas that's why he always say that it's a team effort. They did this while doing their laundry when Pablo ask them what do they want to tell their parents thus the origin of this song. MAPA is a double entendre for Mama, Papa and the the other one is Map. Map in the sense that our parents is the one that guides us to the right path so that we won't get lost. This new arrangement of Mapa showcase their beautiful raw vocals. This just proved why they are called live monsters. All hail to the PPOP Kings! With this guys you need to expect the unexpected cause they loved to surprise their audience. They always try to level up their performances. That's how serious they are when it comes to their crafts. This is a fitting tribute to their parents and to all those people who unconditionally support them. Thank you for a great review. Pablo, the one in yellow, wrote and co-produced this song, and most of their songs including Gento. Mapa was written while on their first tour away from home. Pablo knows each of the member's vocal possibilities and writes, arranges, and produces the songs with them in mind. That's why SB19's music is so beautifully vocally layered. And each member also adds their own unique flavor to the rendition that makes it an SB19 song. It's seriously so fun watching any bts you can find of their music production, especially when you hear how Pablo's original demo was vs the completed song.

Mapa literally means "a map". But Pablo's poetic mind made a wordplay to connect it to our parents because in everyone's life, our parents stand as a map that gives direction to our journey in life. If you try to break down the word MaPa, it embodies our Ma or Mama (mother, mom) and Pa or Papa (father, dad).
