That starch with McDougall makes so little sense to me. I tried it just to prove something. My blood sugar shot up from 97 to 250 and it took a week to get it down. I was scared back to mr fuhrman vegan keto nuts/greens/beans diet. That's what I call it and it reliable.

I would also wash the inner leaves of the lettuce, since little critters tend to crawl throughout the leaves and soil has its way of migrating to the interior.

Lifetime Sugar Addiction had to be conquered before I could successfully intermittently fast. That took many years, beginning with eliminating Coke, then eliminating other sugary beverages, even orange juice, then replacing all sugary fruit juices with RO water at room temperature. Then I learned to identify and eliminate added sugar Refined Foods. Then after much struggle I gave up candy, then all refined sugar and refined flour products. Now intermittent fasting is a breeze. I can achieve any weight / BMI I desire to be at any time with intermittent fasting.

I wish you didn’t interrupt him when you were explaining the benefits of the red onion. It’s definitely more important than knowing if the salad was for 1 or 2. Education is the key to change. I eat a huge salad every night with the beans onions and then homemade dressing, no oil. I have to try this. Can’t imagine the combination of tomatoes and peanut butter. But I’ll give it a try for sure. Thanks for sharing

Hello! I’m very new to the ETL Nutritarian woe/wol but I’ve been a wfpb Vegan for almost 3 yrs and I was a vegetarian for 3.5 yrs before that. I’ve read, and reread ETL and am now devouring Eat For Life. Amazing reads and Dr. Fuhrman, you’ve written on such a level to be understood! I’m gaining so much knowledge. And loving it! I’m a decades long yo-yo dieter with very minimal results that I quickly put back on. And then some. I’m learning to love food for the nourishment and true taste it brings without the heavy sauces, sweeteners, oils. I also purchased your food journal and feel this will be a wonderful tool to aid me in losing weight and gaining true health Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

What a beautiful kitchen! I know Dr. Fuhrman's diet as the GOMBS diet, bc that's what I learned from his PBS special. Somehow those foods together in one meal suppress my appetite for the rest of the day. At 11am this morning I had a medium size bowl of greens, scallions, beans & mushrooms, and now at 7pm, 8 hours later, I'm still full. I lost 20 lbs effortlessly this way after I watched the PBS special. And I'm no stranger to nutritious eating- I did a raw vegan diet for 3 years, but I tell you, GOMBS is something special. I'm not a vegan, either, I just eat meat in smaller quantities. I have to lose 20 lbs again, so GOMBS to the rescue! Thank you, Dr. Fuhrman!! Love it so much, it's easy.

Have your wife write down all of the questions from the Facebook Live, and then allot time at the end of your video to answer them. The interrupting during your video takes away from the flow of your educational content. I know she wants to be in your video, but you could also have a separate video where you do a Facebook Live question/answer session, and she could read off the questions at that time. Thank you for your expertise!

There is no controversy about nuts and seeds. Dr. Esselstyn says that if you have heart disease, eat ground flaxseed and/or chia seed each day. If you don't have heart disease, he also recommends unsalted walnuts ( raw or lightly toasted ). There is the common ground consensus. Dr. Fuhrman also prefers the same choices as your first/best option.

I followed starch solution for years but could never get rid of cravings especially eating until I was in pain, always felt like the body was missing something. I’ve been following dr Furhman imperfectly for about a month and have already seen the lessening of my desire to overeat. I was also afraid of eating fat - any overt fat - because of dr McDougall’s mantra. I love that not only are fats okay in the form of raw nuts and seeds but that they SUPPORT absorption of nutrients. I’ve always had literal cold feet and I cant wait to fine tune DF’s advice and see how it affects this issue long term. As a side note and completely subjective…the plant based doctors are all such heroes, and it’s hard to hear them argue about this or that, but IMHO Dr M. has not been looking well in the past few years, not himself, and I wonder if the total lack and avoidance of overt fats in his diet has been taken a bit too far and that if he took DF’s advice about eating some more healthy fats he would find that he thrives. Grateful from Cali.

This past year has been rougher because after knee and hip surgery for osteoarthritis and than breaking my femur just above that knee and just below that hip I was off my leg for three weeks and then started a 3 month therapy session to get my strength back. for 5-6 months I couldn't cook for myself and my husband was doing the cooking and tried to keep up with veggies and little meat.
