Us too! There’s a rumor of an HCX which is an HC1 with a wet bath and built in kitchen. I think that will be a super exciting model if it’s true. There are a couple of other videos in the channel that show more of the interior to check out!

So many questions about this camper! I love the layout. Is it shore power only or do you have solar (is that an addon option), what is the cost for the build you got? What is the capacity of the fresh/ gray water tanks? Didn't see a fan, but is there one? Any heat or cooling? Also, any heat on the wet bath shower?
@jenniferpreston8365
@jenniferpreston8365 3 жыл бұрын
We have solar and an inverter. They run 50-60k and this has all the bells and whistles. Water and gray water tanks are 17 gallons. There is a fan (we opted not to get AC but it’s an option) and there is heat. It runs on propane or shore power.

Thanks for posting this- I haven't found too much info about this camper from buyers. What do you think about the counter space? Doesnt seem like enough room for food prep? Safe to put cutting board over the sink/burner? Also the additional fridge, how much was that? the standard fridge seems so small.
@jenniferpreston8365
@jenniferpreston8365 3 жыл бұрын
There is actually a counter that flips up on the right side of the kitchenette to get you that extra space. That helps with the food prep. And yes, safe to have the cutting board over the sink but I wouldn't put it near the burner just in case it's still hot after use. I need to check on the fridge cost... we have 3 ways to store food that needs to stay cold/cool - the fridge drawer, the fridge and then one of the cubes is a cooler cube that you can fill with ice. It works really well.

I really like the small but roomy size of this camper. Is there a place for small microwave oven, electric coffee maker, etc? I'm also assuming that clothes storage is under the cushions.
@jenniferpreston8365
@jenniferpreston8365 3 жыл бұрын
Check out some of the other videos - I cover the cube storage there. So I think the answer to your question is yes but with stipulations. You can definitely store the items you note in a cube and bring them out as needed. That being said, I don't know that it's the ideal scenario. One of the HCT version they offer is the wet bath is a storage closet. I'd probably think about that for those kind of items or.... they do offer a vertical storage option (sort of like a wicked tall cube). If I wanted the wet bath I'd probably also get that storage option to keep a microwave and electric coffee maker in, but you'd be taking them out to use them.

That looks amazing! I currently have a teardrop that I love taking out, but someday in the middle distant future I'd love a small camper that still provides indoor shower space and the ability to cook without layering up. The HCT definitely ended up on my potential upgrade list. What is the weight of your trailer? The website lists the HCT as 2,500lb "loaded" but does not explain what sort of equipment goes into that number.
@jenniferpreston8365
@jenniferpreston8365 3 жыл бұрын
I love a teardrop - but I would always worry about taking off my shoes to keep the dirt out :) We love our HCT and I’ve not had it weighed but I think she is right around that mark. I take the reference to loaded from our experience when we had the HC1. Without it kitted out, I think it comes in at 1100 pounds but fully kitted out it is 1400. That included things like the cubes, having those packed out with camping supplies, a couple of table tops, the kitchenette (with water), the laveo dry flush toilet etc... Happy to answer any questions you have. You can go to the site happiercamperowners.com and in About you will see my contact details. No clothes storage? 'm assuming you can lower the table and convert it into a 2-3 people bed.
@jenniferpreston8365
@jenniferpreston8365 3 жыл бұрын
Hi - for long trips we use a cube for clothes storage. There is also an option to not have a wet bath and for that to be a vertical closet. I know HC also has a vertical storage option as part of the adaptive system - could probably use that plus the wet bath if you were inclined. And yes - you can lower the table. In fact the bed on the left side of the camper isn't all cubes - it's cubes plus table tops and cushions so you could do the same on the other side too.

What is the storage like for clothing? Is there a place for a litter box if you had a kitty? No leaks from wetbath? Inside looks spacious... What is the price point for this? waiting time?
@jenniferpreston8365
@jenniferpreston8365 3 жыл бұрын
You have a couple of options for clothing storage. HC offers a full size closet type piece for the adaptive system. You could do that or if you didn't want the wet bath you could get the model where that is a closet instead. I'd think of those two options if I lived in it - but only if the cube storage wasn't enough. That's where we store our clothes for longer trips. Litter box - I have actually seen an owner who converted a cube for that purpose. I think HC still sells cubes with an open front which would make it easy to clean. No leaks on the wet bath. The inside is really spacious - if you are used to small campers! For us, that's absolutely how we feel. For someone coming from a big rig, they probably wouldn't feel the same. Price point is 50-60k - think Airstream pricing. And on the wait - I think it's 6 months but the best thing to do would be to reach out to sales@happiercamper.com - you can tell them Jen sent you :)

@jenniferpreston8365 3 жыл бұрын
Great question! The answer is, it depends 🙂 but there’s a TON of storage space. All of the cubes are hollow and intended for storage - I’ve got a video that shows it a bit better. The wet bath is the option we chose but some people choose for this to be a closet instead. I think you can see that on their website. Chairs - we either put them in the back of our tow vehicle or just in the camper when we are driving. A grill would depend - some owners put those on a rack that they mount on the tail of the camper or their tow vehicle.

That back bed looks squishy and the modules hard to access. I assume they are mostly storage? It’s a bummer the back doesn’t open so you can more easily move stuff around like the original. Or use for bikes or stuff and sleep up front. Modular ness is what happy camper is suppose to be but that seems to not be so much the case with this model. Am I wrong?
@jenniferpreston8365
@jenniferpreston8365 3 жыл бұрын
You are indeed wrong 🙂 Check out the video on the bed topper - someone asked if it was squishy or softly supportive and you can see how it looks there. On the cubes - have a video on that as well - the ones under the bed, if you aren’t converting it every day, should be for stuff that you don’t want to grab quickly IMO. The HC1 has the back hatch - not the HCT. Wish it did! But you can still move all the cubes around or out to haul stuff - it just has to get through the door.

With the HCT, our tow vehicle originally was a Porsche Macan but it had such low clearance and we wanted to boondock so we move to a Land Rover. Hi Linda - the latest pricing is on the Happier Camper website and they have 4 different packages that they are offering - here is a link - happiercamper.com/products/traveler?variant=32059403829353 - I hesitate to note the price here because the comments live on in time and it may not be accurate for someone who comes to check it out later but if you check their site, you can see that this is the Premium camper option and work it out :) There is an air conditioner but we did not get it - this one does have the fan though as well as the heat package. I know HC was working to source an AC that can run off the battery (our includes the solar package with the inverter) but it wasn’t available when we were in production. We started with an HC1 in 2016, having never been camping before so I totally get you when you say you are new to it all. Check out the happiercamperowners.com site - there are a bunch of HC related articles there that may help you and on the About page you can find my email if you want to get in touch to ask questions. Happy to help -

Lots of space inside but doesn't seem like a lot of storage available. Also, is this 4 season trailer like Oliver or Bigfoot?
@jenniferpreston8365
@jenniferpreston8365 2 ай бұрын
It's funny, I worried about that before we got her. We actually never have full cubes and there is more room than we ever need. It is 4 season. It is a double fiberglass hull so well insulated and with the truma heater option, very doable.

Dry weight of the HCT is 1800 pounds but fully loaded you are probably over your 2k limit. Check out the HC1 though - they are 1100 pounds and fully loaded I think we were at 1400 max (we had the HC1 for 3 1/2 years and for two of those towed her with our Fiat 500x.)

Hi Karen - I think fully loaded the HCT is 2400 pounds. The HC1 is even lighter at 1400. We towed our HC1 with a Fiat 500x 🙂 but I upgraded my commuting car (like I need that now!) and made sure it could tow so we pull the HCT with a Porsche Macan.

@jenniferpreston8365
@jenniferpreston8365 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex - there is probably a legal liability of me telling you yes so let me answer you this way.. We pulled our HC1 with a Fiat 500x! Dry weight it is 1100 pounds and fully loaded about 1400. If you are hauling the HCT, you are talking probably 2200 pounds fully loaded, so just check your car's tow capacity. I think a V6 is going to be good - but don't sue me :)

Do you feel in your experience traveling in this beauty that someone can live in it full time?
@jenniferpreston8365
@jenniferpreston8365 2 ай бұрын
Yes, absolutely. If you check out Baron and Elsa Rhae's KZfaq, they spent years living out of what is basically the same footprint as the HC1. Personally, I'd prefer the HCT to do that because you have two separate living spaces. I'd leave the bed down in the back and then keep the front set up with the table so I have two spaces to move back and forth through.

Hi Roger - she is about 2400 pds fully loaded. We pull her with a Porsche Macan. Very very easy to handle. We had the HC1 for 3 1/2 years and pulled her with a Fiat 500x most of the time - but she is 1400 pounds fully loaded. The Happier Camper site has the latest pricing but the HCT runs between 40-60k, similar to an airstream.
