Renea, I'm so excited to have the recipe for the homemade Shake and Bake. My husband loves Shake and Bake chicken but the mix is expensive. I also realized I can take my bread heals that no one will eat and stale bread and crumble it in the food processor to make this! They usually get fed to the birds. What a money saver! I also clean as a I go with my dishes, my Mom taught me that and I have realized that once dinner is over and all we have are a few dishes left, my husband lots of times will volunteer to wash the supper dishes! Thanks so much for this video! I love to get a cup of tea and watch your videos, truly feels like we are in the kitchen together having a chat. Keep it up my friend!

I do the same with by bread heals. I just store them in the freezer and when I have a nice size bunch I dehydrate them and grind them up. You will like the shake & Bake mix it is so very close to the store bought but with the delicious homemade flavor.

Renae! So grateful for your recipes! I’m making Shake and Bake chicken as I write this! It smells amazing! I shared the recipe with my best friend, whose daughter has celiac disease. I got my package of 6 ziploc bag holders delivered today. When I make tator-tot hotdish (we don’t say casserole in MN) I always have to be OCD about my tots. I know that a 9x13 takes 100 tots all in perfectly lined rows; my Mom and sister do the same. If the rows aren’t even and tidy, I lose my mind. 😂

That’s something I love about Renea too-she has such good kitchen hygiene habits. My mom was an avid cook and my earliest memories are of cooking with her and she instilled strong kitchen hygiene into me so I really appreciate seeing people like Renea that do the same and do it so naturally and habitually-I know that’s not just for the camera, that’s genuinely how cleanly she is in the kitchen. Weird passion of mine I guess. 😊

You’re not alone with the hot soapy water in the sink and cleaning as you go, I do the same. Perfectly good dishwasher, and I have a drainer on the counter half full non-stop when I go on a cooking spree like this. 😊 I have favorite utensils-bowls, knives, spatulas, spoons-so I always want those clean and ready to go (four out of I don’t know how many utensils, but their my favorites). Plus, when you’re done with the cooking flurry, you’re actually done-not another half hour or more of cleanup. I love watching you cook because you cook and have kitchen habits just like my mom did and I do now. 😊

I’ve made hamburger tator tot casserole for years but never with chicken. I’m definitely going to try this. We lived in Ypsilanti Mi around 1972 when I was a child. I remember the snow, the trees and houses close to each other. My mother made a chocolate crazy cake with homemade fudge icing that a church lady had given her the recipe. Have you ever heard of it before? It’s made with no eggs, butter or milk. We were very poor and food was always on short supply. This is why I cook from scratch even though I’m married to a farmer. He said my cooking was why he fell in love with me😊❤

Sweetie…I use the same large box of plastic wrap..a hint…pull a nice long piece of wrap out ..then..put your pan on top…and cover. It won’t come apart in the freeze that way. Isn’t having that much wrap (I have a foil too) the greatest!!!
