Thank you so much for posting this video! I would I was on a Google team's meeting a few days ago and I'm not sure exactly what happened. At 1st I couldn't get my microphone on but I actually think that was due to the fact that I was actually speaking with the person by phone as well trying to make things work. Of course there was a lot of rever for that reason. However an interesting thing happened a phone call came in. I didn't answer but silenced the phone. When that happened it knocked me off the camera how are yhuh however my microphone started working. It was at that point that I actually hung up the phone conversation. However it knocked me off the camera and I couldn't get the camera going again. Any idea what happened or how I avoid that? Thank you so much for your help

When you join as a guest, does the camera automatically come on once you've been let into the meeting, or will the camera stay off?

On iPhone the camera stays off until you manually turn it on. I can’t confirm if this is the case with Android right now. Just a heads up that features can change quickly in Teams. I wouldn’t like to guarantee that camera-off default will always be the case, so be aware of this. Good luck!

What does share screen mean ? Do you have to do it for the meeting? Or is it for the host to see you ? Or is it so you can see everyone else ? Have a meeting coming up with a volunteer organization I volunteer with. This helped alot .

“Share screen” is means you’re sharing something that’s open on your computer screen for other people to see. For example: a PowerPoint presentation that you’d like others to be able to read, or a website you have open. It’s kind of like of when you’re sat next to someone in an office and they’re looking at your screen - only this time they can be anywhere rather than having to be next to you! It’s different to sharing your video (which will let other people be able to see you in Teams). You don’t need to share your screen in order to join a Teams meeting. Glad the video helped!

How many guests can you have per meeting on the app?

If you're using a free account you can have up to 300 people in a meeting during the COVID-19 crisis. For paid accounts, you can now have up to 1000 guests in a meeting. You won't be able to see everyone on-screen at once though - there may be 4 or 9 people visible depending on your phone. Enjoy!

In your opinion, is it less professional to use a smart phone for a teams interview then a desktop computer?

I think you can make both devices feel professional. The key is to practise your set-up beforehand. Try raising your smartphone to eye level and using it hands free. Choose a tidy background behind you. e.g. a wall. In the past, I've put my phone on top of a saucepan to raise the height. Then I leaned it against a pile of books to be able to use it hands free. It didn't look overly pro my end...! But it did give a distraction and movement free experience for the people I chatted with - so it felt professional to them. Now I use a small desktop tripod for my phone; you can pick them up relatively affordably these days 👍

I think it's important to note that Teams does not communicate with Firefox. When I tried opening an invite from gmail, with Firefox as my browser, it would not connect properly. I had to grab my laptop and use Edge or Chrome to get it going. Very stressful.

Hi Mary, I've not received any other reports of sound issues from this video. So, I'd suggest checking the Sound settings on your device, or checking there are no devices/headphones accidentally connected that's redirecting your sound. Alternatively you could try watching this video on another laptop, mobile or tablet. Hope that helps 👍
