Nancy Wynn Thank you. I have a question I'll try to keep as short as I can. I'm trying to learn to make mittens, all seemed to be going well, I closed in the fingertip, fastened off and turned it right side out and egads I had dropped 2 stitches back where the cuff ends and the gusset begins. How in Knitting Heavens do I fix that without taking the whole mitten apart? It didn't ravel much but it was a k1, p1 ribbing of which I dropped one of each. Thank you so much for any direction you can point me in.~Jane
@WynnKnit
@WynnKnit 9 жыл бұрын
jane Doe Hi Jane, your options are quite limited at this point so I will tell you what I would do. So basically your mittens are done, right? Go to my video on how to pick up dropped stitches and follow along to pick up your dropped stitches as best you can. When you can't bring them up any further, take a darning needle and the mitten yarn and tack them down. If you're very careful while doing this, no one will every know but you and me. Does this make sense?

@@theastewart6721 Oh Thea, if you saw what I've been up to, you would be quite impressed. Not only have I been filming several videos that will be released weekly (1 at a time instead instead of several at once), I'm making entire pieces from beginning to end. For example, for the Fair Isle mittens I am doing, we'll go through the entire pattern, work the gauge swatch, make the mitten, deal with mistakes and anything else that may occur. Finally, ends will be sewn in and they will be blocked - no step will be left out! The socks will be done in the same fashion using Muststash Yarn and their patterns. I'm also going to start up my blog again. As you can tell, I'm quite excited about all of this and I hope you will be too. By all means feel free to offer suggestions for things you would like me to make. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!!!

Thank you for this wonderful video! I am a new knitter, and needed to figure out WHY this gap continued to appear. I wondered if it was a dropped stitch, yet, after counting, I always had the perfect number. Pulling the yarn tail taunt (very taunt) never solved this either. Well, this solves it. Hehe... and you are right, and explained the dilemma so well. I hoped it would go away as my rounds continued... and then I thought, I better not test this theory on a scarf with 100+ rounds! Lol. Subscribed. ❤️
