Thank you very much for your kind post. I'm very happy that you like my videos and the truth is that I created all of them with the new knitter in mind. I just don't think there are enough sites geared for new knitters and they are the ones that really need the help. Anyway, thank you for watching and supporting my channel.

Best video I've found! the cast on was very clear (I especially like that you don't add useless details.) I like your extra stitch trick. Then as if your video wasn't amazing enough you start knitting continental style! Which is super fun for me to watch because I don't knit that way. :D I'm adding this to my website for troubleshooting of my pattern.

I love your join! :D It's so much neater than just trying to ensure it's joined properly in the normal way, and so much more worry-free. Thanks so much for this video! :)

Cannot imagine what the 1 'dislike' would be for?!!! I had to learn to knit in the round on dpn's and looked at quite a few videos. I found this one concise, no unnecessary chatting, just plain and simple teaching on how to go about it. I found various ways of linking the first and last stitch, but again: this one seems by far the least noticeable and works very well. Thank you very much for your time and effort. I, for one, recommend it highly. Ingrid (UK)

My dear Jessica, thank you so much for your lovely comments and for making my day! I will never take my videos down but instead, I’m adding more to my collection. I’ve learned over the years that my target audience is new knitters and for that reason, I’m working on project based tutorials. My goal is to walk a new knitter through the ENTIRE process. Everything from reading patterns and charts, doing gauge swatches, making the item and blocking. It’s all because of kind people like you that take the time to contact me and motivate me. Happy knitting ❤️ 🧶

The needles I am using are Colonial. Lantern Moon also makes nice rosewood needles. The ones in the video are size 15 and are 8 inches in length.

when you insert the needle into the first stitch you bring (or almost throw) the yarn around the left needle with your right index finger
@WynnKnit9 жыл бұрын
Actually you're wrapping it around the right needle.

Nancy what is that little stitch deviation at the beginning of each needle? and why?
@WynnKnit9 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you are referring to? The only thing I see is the chain on the bottom of the stitch that was created from the cast on. Sorry : - (

Can anyone help I am knitting a dolls christening day out fit I am on the petticoat and at noon R shoulder -lay set of 6C sts against A on front rs tog with DPN and A p tog 1 sets from each needle twice cast off 1st, please can anyone send me a video or even a video link so I can see how to do this please
@ImGinaMarie6 жыл бұрын
Nancy, what is the benefit of knitting with DPNs as opposed to circs?
@WynnKnit6 жыл бұрын
Ginmars1 It’s not so much a benefit but rather a necessity. Sometimes you don’t have enough stitches to go around the entire length of a 16” circular needle....you may have only 12 stitches and that wouldn’t work on a circular needle. If you really hate DPNS, an alternative to it would be the magic loop or 2 circular needles. Both of these methods will work when you don’t have enough stitches for a circular needle. Btw, I have videos for those methods as well. Hope I answered your question.
@ImGinaMarie6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nance, I am obviously a knew knitter and I don't like the idea of DPN's too fidgity for me I think, looks awkward....I have learned magic loop though so I guess I wonder why more people don't use it instead of DPN's seems simpler and less needles to deal with and also to buy...thanks for the help and explanation... I guess options are good!!! LOL
@WynnKnit6 жыл бұрын
I'm always happy to help new knitters... in fact, the vast majority of my subscribers are just that! To answer your question as to why more people don't use the magic loop is probably because the method is relatively new. However I feel the biggest reason is that it all comes down to what you're use to. I personally prefer using double points for most things but not all. Thank goodness we live in a time when there are so many choices, right?Good luck with all your knitting and feel free to suggest videos that I might do to help out you and other new knitters! : - )
