I played this for my great grandpa. He's 95. His wife who died at 21 would be 94 this year. He raised their daughter himself and never remarried because he loved her that much. To this day he celebrates every anniversary even though she's been dead 70 years. He says that every time he looks at my boyfriend and I, 18 and 20, he can't help but remember the last time he saw his wife. Edit: Thank you everyone for the kind comments. My great grandpa passed away last week peacefully in his sleep. His last few days were spent surrounded by those he loved. He was an amazing man who touched the hearts of everyone around him and I find comfort in knowing that this story did the same for some of you. Thank you for the kind comments. He loved hearing them and it always brought a smile to his face. God bless you. ❤️

What hurts is when you had something special with somebody because of the mood and the rush of the moment. Then... they stop. Making you question if it was just your imagination, were they leading you on, and still hoping to have it again. The moments were so special and the thing you looked forward to most, to end up feeling abandoned and lost. It mightve no been their intention or your fault, you feel the distance get wider while still keeping the dream close to your heart.

If you've lived long enough, you'd know how this feels. It's not a toxic or selfish song, it's a realistic song in that it takes time to get over certain ppl (but you do eventually); especially in the immediate post breakup when your heart still aches or you're mourning the loss of love, and you're trying to move on. That is the feeling this song invokes. Life is messy, sad, beautiful etc.

Yes 🧡🤍💚 Same as me.. If we're both humans and we think similar thoughts I couldn't hate anyone because I'm basically like them. And God loves everyone so much, He couldn't hate anyone because He made everything good about us and because He made us and God is perfect 👌, we're perfect in His sight when we're with Him even though we still make mistakes like mess up a tongue twister or even treat someone badly (just said in a widely expressed way). That's why Jesus/God came down to pay the penalty for every sin that we did so we can be with Him in Heaven and not have the penalty we deserved. Because we are imperfect and God measures us to Jesus because God's definition of good 👍 IS perfect 👌 and sin can't be by/with a perfect & holy God, yet Jesus still wants us to ALWAYS be with Him 🤍. That's why when I became a Christian, I didn't want to be what I was before so I wouldn't be a hypocrite and do what I said myself was bad to do but still did it. I thank the living Jesus that He saved me from my old life and still wants to have a relationship with me despite seeing myself as a "Walmart Girl Boss" lol. May God bless you and be with you 🤍🤍🤍🤍!.

i think everyone has that someone in their minds that naturally floats to the surface when they are listening to this song. Someone truly special, someone who gave you a time to remember and made mundane things ecstatically beautiful. Some parts of you that just cant quite let go of the happiness back then. because that person meant that much to you, that the immerurable pain that comes with missing the person was, ultimately, worth it in your mind.
