It can be interpreted as a way to callout fake and corrupt churches, a toxic relationship, having an addiction, etc. Honestly, I absolutely hate anybody part of the LGBT community. I mean, I used to have friends that randomly became part of the LGBT community. I said it online, took everyone's advice about them not changing personality wise, and only changing genders, who they love, all the stuff. In the end, being part of the LGBT community will change 70%% of their entire identity. It took way too long for me to realize that. In the end, all you can do is accept the fact that anyone who becomes part of the LGBT community has changed. I also get berated a bunch for being "homophobic" and all. Yet I don't have much of a choice. Either I develop a new fake personality for my LGBT friends, or I can just accept it.

Essentially it was Hosier being frustrated by the Catholic church dominating Irish society and wanting to point out its hypocrisies. With a few examples being how they weaponize your sins said in confidence, and how they tell you that you are “sick” (sinful) from birth and convince you to dedicate yourself to the church through lies. There is also something to be said about an undertone of accepting sexuality and how people are naturally loving and intimate but the church tells you to reject that part of yourself. Calling it sinful and saying you are damned to hell just for indulging in a natural part of human life.
