I broke the heart of a girl that did nothing but help, talk, and love me, deep down she knew when we were out in public and caught me looking around all the time that I was searching for someone, she ignored it, until that certain someone reached back out to me, and I ended up going back, leaving the person that built me up when I was so dark and down and did nothing but help me and loved me. The guilt and pain was so awful that sometimes putting a bullet in my head felt like the only way to feel peace, that person that reached back out ended up being the exact same person they always was and it ended a month later, making the girls hard efforts and heartbreak completely for nothing, I tell this story to say, please please please never use someone to heal, please don’t put them through that awful trauma, focus on yourself and work on your issues, talk to a therapist if needed, just don’t use someone’s heart to heal your own.

I wish I had found this a month later. I’m newly in another relationship after losing what I thought was the love of my life. And here I am using her as the band-aid. I know for her it’ll be better if I just end it here and now, but she’s so stressed with life, and starting college and I know this will completely destroy her. There is no worst feeling than being the new girlfriend, you feel like you are constantly living under someone’s shadow, like you have to live up to some type of standard or like you’re not good enough. You feel like whatever you do will never be enough to make the person forget or love you more because you are you. Someone who gives a chance to someone who has just been heartbroken, feels like a lot if responsibility and like you have to nurture this person, do good by them. I too was extremely close to my grandma and she ended up passing with dementia for the last decade of her life. I miss her so much so that when I get a glimpse of her in my dreams I end up waking up crying. And still so very grateful that God gave me a glimpse of her if it’s only in my dreams. 😢

I love this song but my answer to 0:42 is break up with the person you’re dating if you’re still stuck with and especially still in love in your ex. No one deserves to be anyone’s rebound or to be made to feel that they’re not good enough compared to an ex or that they’re just there to fill a void or a blatant replacement. Don’t get into a new relationship if you’re not over your ex yet. People deserve to be loved and have their partner, fully, 100% and not just get crumbs.

It is a very realistic song, we rarely end up with the one we should have, we often self sabotage and such things leads to events that is discribed so vividly and beautifully in this song. That is just life without any fantasies, white lies, or pink glasses. I just hope they realise before it is to late and let go, so that everyone can be happy instead of trapped and miserable, but then the divorce rate wouldn't be so high, so I strongly doubt it.

I like this song due to the fact it makes people realize to leave this type of relationship. But it also brings out some sort of understanding to some people. I had a first love but I know I can't be with her and I moved on wishing the best for her. I don't do all that dumb shit of thinking of the past person idk if people are like me in this aspect but I'm more in line of wanting that feeling for the person I had in the past with a new person. Like a good connection but it is a double edged sword because I keep hurting myself by doing this. I hope one day I find a person I can be with and have a good connection... I just want a connection that lasts and not have it ripped away due them wanting someone more attractive. This song i relate to the song but in a different way due to being hurt by someone and you still hold on to the anguish and sadness. So in my case the Glimpse I see Is not a good one and it fuckin sucks and i try to ignore it hoping for the best only to be hurt again. But I'm still foolish and keep trying. The upside is i still feel the hurt but i also grow a bit stronger from it.

It makes you think about the past, it also makes me happy they hurt me and led me to where I am today. I’ve met such an amazing girl and it’s been 2 years since I met her and I’m planning a wedding with her. She is someone I didn’t ask for, but she was someone I desperately needed as I was falling hard alone. Pain is a lesson only a few will accept as a friend, and I accepted it and it gave me something I needed rather than continue to drag me down. I think today I started my journey of forgiveness. I agree with you. Pain is a lesson and I would never replace it because I like things that I learned through that pain.
