I think the reason why even the antagonists have heroic themes is because there aren't really any bad guys in steel ball run, but rather everyone is trying to pursue their own goals

i don’t think diego was ever meant to be a villian or a “anti-hero”. More like just a guy that puts himself before anything else, that was until he realized the total madness of valentine, that’s when he reached the limit of being neutral towards him, and tries to stop him. Overall great theme, really suits diego’s character

This perfectly fits Diego. I’ve read the manga and this sounds heroically evil. Anti hero incarnate is what Diego is, and this fits perfectly, part 3 DIO vibes as well with the Wild West theme and Diego’s own bits. Absolute perfect equivalent to Johnny’s theme.

In my most honest opinion, this hits harder than the ambulance in Part 4.

Honestly I prefer Scary Monsters Diego over Alternate World Diego. This theme definitely does SM Diego justice; it's wild, it's villainous, but with a hint of heroism to it. Should I say, a anti-villainous tone to the most fun version of our favorite Brando ever!

Diego's horse is named Silver Bullet. Silver bullets are often referred to as being able to kill vampires. Pre-universe reset dio was a vampire. interesting.

Listening to the soundtracks of Gyro, Valentine, Diego, and Johnny, here's what they all sound like, and they kind of fit their stories: Gyro: All the music compliments himself, working together to improve the entire thing with taking their turns and improving it overall. Gyro originally entered the Steel Ball Run to get a child amnesty that he was supposed to execute Johnny: The music itself sounds full of determination, but is determination to improve upon one's self, the song is heavily dominated by the guitars and they pretty much do most of the work for his theme. Johnny joined the Steel Ball Run to try to "Reset his luck" as well as learn how the Steel Balls from the Zepeli family works, and later on, to stop Valentine and eventually win for Gyro. Valentine: The music sounds much darker, but is mostly one part leading the rest, or vice versa, almost being the leader. Valentine joined the Steel Ball Run to further the interests of the United States of America, and his own. Diego: Calm at first, it quickly picks up and changes tempo and tone to a more almost "Twisted" heroic theme. He originally joined Steel Ball Run just to win, but after learning of the corpse parts, shifted his focus to those for himself, and later, in order to help Valentine and gain lots for his own self. So far, all their songs match why they joined and their goals In the end, but it sounds amazing. This is all based on perspective, and I just like sharing it with others. :)

FINALLY OUR BOI IS GETTING A THEME .

I’m anticipating a prehistoric percussion heavy theme. Will edit this with my afterthoughts when it releases, and I’m sure it will be nothing but praise. Edit: sorry guys, forgot to edit. I loved it, I caught some percussion, but I also loved the strings. It felt like it drew from AU Diego, being more posh. All in all, a solid 9/10

I love that the ticking clock can represent The World stop time and Scary Monsters turning back the time to make Diego a dinosaur.

I love it, the ticking clock details hinting to his alternate Stand, the original DIO theme leitmotif to homage the origin. And that's all just starting up, all the love you put in your music really shows, happy to have you back dude! And we all know you stopped uploading because you had to make Stone Ocean's OST though, it's very obvious :^)

4:10-4:43 I love this part. This perfectly shows Diego's character, that he's don’t care about anybody, but if you cross his way, he will get rid of you. The perfect combination of selfishness, determination, and anger to all who hurt him in the past.

I LOVE how the song starts with the same rhythm from Funny Valentine's theme, and how It's basically a remix of DIO's theme from Stardust Crusaders, but instead of that terror DIO's theme brings, this one gives a emotion of frenzy and heroic and villain intentions, like another guy said in comments

The fact that it took this long for Friedrich to make this shows that this is gonna be a banger

The building suspense, then the sudden drop, the lingering terror but with heroic notes around I'm really impressed how you're able to capture the entirety of Diego's character here, amazing work (And don't forget the clock ticking sounds because he's still DIO alright)

Also 0:50 sounds like the start of okuyasu's theme lol I'm ngl it almost sounds like a hero theme especially at 3:42 but maybe that's just cause diego isn't necessarily a bad guy. More like an anti-hero and you can still see the reasoning in his actions. Hating so many because of the treatment of his mother, wanting to tear down the world to avenge her... Who wouldn't?
