SEVERAL differences. Tana gave no effort and was just running her mouth (probably high/drunk) about a friend who she didn't ask permission to post about (while other people like James did ask beforehand). While SNL has actual talented people behind it, took them the entire week to create a whole skit about her and is known for their parodies. As well as later inviting people they poke fun at for later episodes (which Jojo is hoping for). I'm sure it really helps that SNL further pushes her image into a demographic that maybe don't know her all too well while Tana is also just an influencer (with no talent just charisma at best) so she really isn't providing any clout or gain for Jojo lol. Like you comparing a multi decade primetime television show to Tana is crazy... And I don't even like SNL lol but let's not be delulu here.

I wholeheartedly believe that her team is forcing or at least encouraging her to do this. Remember that one episode of Victorious where Tori became a celebrity and her manager forced her to make a scene in public and say and do things contrary to her personality in order to generate press before her big performance? And she couldn't tell anyone, not even her closest friends, in order to keep up the act? That's exactly what I think is happening here. There is no way her team would allow her to continue embarrassing herself this badly without doing damage control. Therefore, this has to be deliberate and calculated. They want to bring attention to JoJo's rebrand and allow her to shed that Nickelodeon persona once-and-for-all, and this is the route they're taking to accomplish that.

It is good press monetarily, but I hope she doesn’t just let it die down but reinvent herself to have more fans than haters later on
