An American co-worker visited the Philippines for a project. Every day he buys 4 of those pies per meal. I finally asked him, what the hell is up with the pie hoarding. He said he's going all in now, because when he goes back home McDonald's pies doesn't taste that good.

And the winner is... Jollibee! Thanks man, we love you. We also love KFC! 🇵🇭

I’m an African American man that lives in Indonesia. There is this small chicken chain here called Rocket Chicken and I swear to you it is some of the best chicken I’ve ever had in my life! It’s just like that jollibee chicken because it doesn’t have too much batter but it’s full of flavor inside the chicken meat as well as the batter. SE Asia knows how to make some chicken. I’ll tell you that!

The reason why Jollibee is so special to a lot of us, considering the fact that it’s different from everything else, is because it really caters to our childhood memories. Their menu is kid friendly, particularly to the Filipino kids growing up and as adults it really brings us back.

My wife is from the Philippines. We eat @ Jollibee fairly often. I've turned a few people on to them & they are all like you, they love it. Those peach mango pies are the bomb diggity for sure!. Next time you go there try the pineapple drink It's pretty refreshing. Also I never thought about the wings & the breast but you're right they need those. I just found you & started following you. My favorite is the Palabok (fiesta noodles). Chicken Joy goes crazy with that asian gravy & adobo rice. Soft Steak meal. Filipino Spagetti. Their breakfast menu & garlic rice is bomb also. In my area they had lumpiang shanghai (little egg roll type things with sauce) I was in heaven boy.

I'm Filipino (born in the USA) and I've known about Jollibee for years, going there whenever I visit family in the Philippines. The thing that I find interesting is that in the USA, Jollibee is more known for the chicken, whereas in the Philippines they're more known for their burgers (they were originally created as a McDonald's competitor - the use of red as the dominant corporate color is no coincidence). In the Philippines, the Chickenjoy is fried chicken served with rice and gravy (no mashed potatoes). So the US Jollibee chicken is modified for American tastes. I personally consider the regular Jollibee chicken a little bland, but I love the crunch and texture. I recently tried the spicy version of the Jollibee chicken and I like that much better though (That's only available in the US; most Filipino dishes are not spicy). The Adobo Rice is AWESOME though and you can't lose with the peach mango pie (the ube pie is pretty good too). The Philippine versions of the burgers are actually better than the US versions because in the Philippines, the beef is marinated in beer (the FDA won't allow that here). Do try their Halo-Halo iced dessert next time. It rules especially during a hot summer day.

I like Popeyes and KFC's original recipe but super crunchy Jollibee is the bomb!! The only thing I don't like about Jollibee is it doesn't age well... I mean you can't take it home, set it aside to eat later and expect the same taste! Hey Chef Curtis, I also eat my mango peach pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream :)
