It’s crazy to me also how the pirate were able to trade mccutchen and actually get Reynolds’s who is actually a viable replacement talent wise. Never usually happens yk just wild they traded there aging franchise icon and we’re able to get a new young franchise icon who plays the same position. He had to fill some pretty big shoes after the cutch trade and it’s wild to me that he actually did. One of the best trades to me just because of how unlikely it is for a guy to come in a be able to do what he has done in Pit. Kids a stud!

One player not mentioned in this video is Josh Lowe, who was drafted 13th overall by the Rays. He’s been a bit of a slow developer but he was picked out of high school, so just turned 25 in February. He made the Rays top 10 prospect list in 2021 and 2022, had a cup of coffee in the bigs in September 2021, and made his full debut in 2022. He was solid for the first couple weeks of that year but ended up being demoted back to the minors twice after struggling with inconsistency (he did win another AAA championship with Durham, though). Now he’s made the Rays’ Opening Day roster and looks to have markedly improved with another strong start. Update: As of Memorial Day weekend, Josh is 2nd on the team in homers with 11, rocks a .970 OPS, and has an impressive 2.0 fWAR. Looking like an All-Star campaign for the young slugger.

He didn't "disappear immediately after." He had two good seasons and then after the series he was below average but not terrible. Getting optioned to triple a not long after. This guy has soooo much more in the tank. Whether that is with the braves or someone else (the braves have depth at SP) Anderson will be fine. I'd take him on the Royals any day if the week.

@@adu3830 he was terrible in 2022. I watched just about every one of his starts in his career. I was at an Astros game last season where they hosted the Angels. Mickey Moniak was actually the lead off hitter, and he made a massive impression on me, hitting a triple in the first at-bat and scoring several runs. It was only later that I realized his status as a draft bust, and it genuinely surprised me. (If you want to see the game, it was on 9/11/22).

As a Phillies fan I watched him a bit. He has nice speed but looks out matched a lot at the plate. In 2022 he had an awesome spring training and was in line to be the opening day cf but broke his wrist. And then when he came back couldn't hit at all. Phillies traded for Marsh to go on a playoff run and made Moniak expendable.

Cubs fan here with a hot take: the Ian Stewart/DJ LeMahieu trade was a long term win for the Cubs. You talked about the previous 3B we had from Stewart in Aramis Ramírez, one of my all-time favorites. However, the trade with the Rockies had a huge impact on the Cubs being able to draft their 3B of the future in Kris Bryant. Because that trade made the 2012 Cubs worse and the 2012 Rockies better, the Cubs wound up with the 2nd overall pick in the 2013 draft, one pick right ahead of the Rockies, who took Jon Gray, a solid pitcher overall, but KB is arguably the 2nd best player from that draft after Aaron Judge. I choose to view the trade like this: The Cubs traded DJ LeMahieu, Tyler Colvin, and Jon Gray for Ian Stewart, Casey Weathers, and Kris Bryant.

The amount of first round busts in hockey is astronomical and a lot of guys never even see the NHL and end up playing in Europe or Russia. He almost didn’t sign with the blue jays basically them to come back with a better offer. First round talent 100% but he came with the * of “I’m not changing for anyone.” As a Blue Jays fan I hope he signs long term with us. I’ll live with his glove being below average for a shortstop in the game today to see him lead the league in hits.

I only have one problem with this video, and that's the classification of Corbin Burnes. Corbin was not a top prospect, nor should he have been. If you remember, Corbin Burnes in his first 2-3 seasons was THE WORST pitcher in the NL, it wasn't until the Brewers pitching staff finally reshaped his fastball into a cutter that he was finally good. Had he gone to most other teams, I doubt he would have made that career saving change
