Petition to name John as permanent “6th Man” as a fill in for any potential injury or other issues that pop up where a team needs a spot filled mid-tourney. Dude seemed locked in and like he has some BB skills. The BIP league comes to my mind as an example of when it woulda been great to be able to have essentially called him up to hit in place of giving teams certain guys a “free” redo after they’d already been out. The Shelfie situation comes to mind as well ofc although I always enjoy extra Nicky Cass

As a British baseball and Jomboy fan whose local pub played in the district bat and trap league this video is a collision I never saw happening! Great video, did really well to approximate the game with what you had.

Any tips for them to improve it? Def looks like a fun variant. I could see playing this with JM's setup.

@@jonokiller Not sure tbh. Like I said with what they have I think they've done really well. I guess most of the skill of the game is hitting the trap and then hitting the ball between the sticks (as the zone would be much smaller than here) but I don't know how they would include that with what they've got. Knocking down the target at the front of the trap is the other bit which is surprisingly hard but that's usually due to it being played in a pub garden where the ball can bounce anywhere and everyone being a few drinks deep.

Might be interesting to make a rule where if the ball makes it to the back wall it's worth more points. That'd give the defenders something to do on ground balls, plus maybe incentivize hitting the ball up into the air so there's more possibility of catches.

Warehouse idea: use this during commercial breaks. Fun game, kind of arcade-y. Reminds me of wii sports baseball training swing control a bit which... Idea 2: Wii baseball training games in person, in warehouse. "warehouse it up" ie, use the rules (beams, etc.) to score, give love to the ol house of wares.

Thought of a couple ways to tweak this. These would all be in addition to current rules. (Unsolicited opinion😂) If the ball hits center pole, 2 points. (Could also be a section of the stantion that is 2 balls wide in the middle. If the ball hits the wall 3-4 feet above the stantions, 2 points. If the ball is over the HR line it's an out. Players get 10 attempts. But final hitter on "home" team gets unlimited attempts until they're out. (So an attempts cap and not a run cap) Defense must rotate throwers until all have thrown once. Bonus: Three player teams, 2 innings.

this was a good experiment! I think it didn't have the same JM warehouse vibes as other videos though. Not sure why. I think it's definitely worth another video or mini tournament (if that was the goal) It felt like most of the participants weren't taking it seriously, contrasting it from similar premises like critzball and blitzball. Love seeing all the cast and crew tho. I also thought the intro/outro clips had poor lighting (top-down, backlit) but that's really minor, a non-issue

I agree. This was fun to watch and looks like it would be fun to play, but it does feel like a game you could drink and play. You could turn this into a more competitive and entertaining game with some changes.

make the run threshold a bit smaller and move it jusssst a bit closer and I think the energy would go up a little but would also bring the scores way down.

that kinda goes against the nature of the game; once you’re used to hitting the pop up ball, these games should usually last 30+ minutes with 50+ runs each. like it’s meant to be lackadaisical, the excitement coming from getting someone out (like in the case with jack and jimmy) or racking up a lot of runs and not getting out (like at the end)

I think this idea is sadly a miss. The intensity is an all time low, and everyone is just hit grounders up the middle. Why was there no benefit from fielding it, or a least a punishment for letting it hit the back wall. Definitely some adjustments should be made if this is gonna continue.

Jimmy's inability to lose gracefully at anything is starting to make any competition he is in unwatchable. And the woogaing while the crew was at bat was childish considering the crew didn't do that kind of crap. Guys...show some sportsmanship.

Think it was meant for just a fun quick and silly game. Ball in play was much bigger. Personally think this delivered what it needed to and liked it.
