He didn't turn around to fight some white walkers, he was very angry at Dany's loss , he turned to kill Night King to take revenge for Drogon and seeing he couldn't do so,he returned back and we saw that he also tried to do the same again in final battle with Night King when Dany couldn't kill him with Drogon's Fire

After successfully killing the first dragon then surely a man with his aim would never miss a giant dragon standing righting in front of him. Still he did, twice even.

Y’all can squeal all y’all want but the Emmys speak for themselves and I learned at age six ( sleeping beauty) that film ALMOST ALWAYS adapts to a different audience. The books are wonderful but most of that wouldn’t work on screen. GRRM gave them the major beats and those of u who think Dany won’t die, she won’t turn into fire and blood, Bran won’t become King, Jon won’t parallel Frodo and go beyond the wall are lying to yourselves and don’t understand what it is you are reading anyway. You may have liked it, but audiences by and large did not. I mean, George himself distanced himself from production halfway through the show's run, ostensibly to work on the books yet he always seems to find time to work on other projects. It's plain and obvious that at some point he was having major creative differences with David and Dan. And the results are there, for all to see.

Yeah, you nailed it. The whole "armour is useless" trope comes into play with the dragon's. If the Night king's special skill wasn't that he could line up a shot against a titanic, slow flying beast and impale it with one hit, but could line up the nigh-impossibly-hard shot against its weak spot... yes, that would make for good - even great - television. And make his ice javelins less fearsome once they got going, while not eliminating his fearsome threat in any way. It would also have shown why a two-dragon run at him to just kill him with dragonfire would have just been suicide. Needing to flee and evade was the only course. But it was still badly-written. Basically, any time a dragon got hit with a big enough pointy thing, it was dead. And that's really lame.

Please understand that at this point the NK was staring down a new opponent that wields 3 weapons against which he has no chance. He needs to even the field somehow so at least one dragon must "switch" sides. It might have been tempting to kill Drogon, or Daenerys outright with a well-placed spear or arrow.... but trying to hit Drogon in the neck from above is very difficult, since it moves its head around to breathe flames on the zombies and the like. If the NK misses or causes only a minor injury then Daenerys will order them to fly away and the NK loses. On the other hand, Viseryon is making passes to breathe flame on zombies. The flying pattern of such a large animal can be easily predicted, especially when it is not feeling threatened. The chest and the neck are softer from below.... so easy.

And it's much easier for a dragon to attack a target below it than above. So it would make perfect sense to armor the back and neck rather than the chest and belly.

Yeah they did Dany so dirty on so many levels just to justify that shit ending that she got. They tried so hard to show that she was this insane, stone-cold, power-hungry bitch who only cared about herself. She loved all her dragons like her own children but they made her look like she only cared about Drogon. Viserion was very clingy in the books.
