This guy is G! I followed his career and I definitely love The Colbert Report... I hope he keeps doing what he does because he's amazing on it and being a black man that grew up on Jazz himself and my father being a saxophone player I give thanks to individuals like himself that put themselves out there to really push forward for this generation of music for the 21st century of individuals that can learn something or two from him.

That's NOLA baby! Being from New Orleans, Jazz has always been a part of life for me. It's definitely not dead, it's just not commercially pushed/appreciated like other genres. Like he said a lot of Hip-Hop has been influenced by Jazz. For example: "Hypnotize" by Biggie is from a song called "Rise" by Herb Albert.

I’m not a musician but my family is full of musicians and music teachers and music majors , I am only good at science and didn’t feel natural in music it was hard for me always but I have a passion for music because music makes me feel good by listening to different genres based on how I feel and I love it , I’ll be one of the guys buying a ticket to one of ur shows in the future , love u and ur craft bro !!!

In regards to blacks playing country music...the banjo is an African instrument. Also, apparently, the rodeo was started by a black man. Not saying that white men have not contributed to these things but we do live in an historical narrative that suppresses valuable contributions of non white male. For instance, as dramatized by the movie, Hidden Figures.
