I just bought g3 20 cc with a 115 Yamah I wanted a jon boat because of the versatility of it so far I’m loving it I’ve been fishing out of it and I’ve caught just about everything now just have to wait to see how it does during duck season

I'm in Canada and mainly fish on rivers and medium to large lakes. I run a 14' Lund SSV deep V hull with a 20" transom. The beam is a wide 69" and Ive had steel rails welded custom onto the gunwales. Power is a 25 HP Merc with power trim and a 5 HP Merc Sail Power kicker. 9:06 It's a good solo fishing boat, especially when the wind comes up.

Got a 1970 14ft Lund semi V so the back is flat and the front comes up to a v it’s got 15hp Mariner and it cuts through chop pretty well it’s the perfect combination of having the advantages of a flat bottom and the advantages a deep v

17 ft mod V with a 60/40 jet is what I run. My area of the potomac is low low water. Lol.... both very nice setups you have there!

My brothers and I share a 1976 14' semi vee with a 6 horse Evinrude 2 stroke. Ideal for the smaller lakes here in NE Ohio. Now I just need to install my Cast Cray decals to make it go faster.

Mine is in the middle a 14 foot deep V hull with a 6hp for the restricted lakes and a 30 HP for big lakes and the coast. The 30 is hard to pull so I'm looking for an electric start 20 HP or higher

As far as motors go, I've had the best luck with older 2 stroke motors. They last longer, break down less and the parts are cheaper. For the boats, I've owned a 10, 12 and 14 foot Jon boat. I've owned a 12 and 14 foot V-bottom. I used to duck hunt a lot and thought I needed the Jon boat to get into the shallows better. While it did offer a few inches more of clearance, I found I seldom hunted in water that shallow anyway, so it wasn't needed. The biggest difference was the ride across the lake, from the ramp to the north end where I hunted. When the wind was calm enough to risk the boat ride, but still blowing good, the Jon boats beat me to death and tons of water came in the boat. I could cross the lake in higher winds using the V-bottoms and they were a lot more comfortable and dryer ride. I no longer hunt, but I still fish and my favorite fishing boat is a 1969 14 foot Proline V-bottom, with a 1969 25hp, electric start Evinrude 2-stroke. No, mine might not be as "pretty" as yours, but I bet I paid a lot less for mine! Just $1,000 dollars for boat, motor and factory trailer. No leaks, newer tires and bearings, new LED lights w/marine wiring and new seats.

I wish I had a Navy surplus PT boat. Something that would carry lots of fishing groupies and a Barcalounger.

I fish small lakes primarily. Last year I picked up a tracker topper 15 with a 8hp mercury four stroke used for a grand! What a steal huh. I loved it so much for it's stability that I did a bass boat conversion to it. Turned out super sick. The build is on my channel if you want to check it out.

got my Ranger deep v for erie and the ohio river. has a 9.9 kicker so i can still go on hp restricted lakes. Then i got a 1986 16ft fishermarine jon boat with a 9.9. will go 21mph and im scared to even take it on the river....ive fallen out of it once.

That is not a Deep-V hull. A "Deep V" should have a deadrise greater than 20 degrees. Nothing wrong with it, it's just not a true Deep-V hull.

A 4 stroke is easer to work on? hahaha no, no they are not.

Did you seriously just say a 4 stroke is easier to work on? You lost just about all credibility with that statement as it’s well known the simpler design of a 2 stroke makes it simpler and easier to work on.
