I really appreciate how the writers set up that Jon was the only one who had experience fighting and winning against a white walker. So it makes a lot of sense he when he screams at a dragon.

@@invisiblemoosenz well, it had to be the prince that was promised, Dany is a possibility, perhaps Aegon, and Jon is still the most likely of those. Although there is a good case for all three being TPTWP. But Arya was just ridiculous and disregards all of the prophecies Martin had written on the matter.

I always loved the sound the other’s blade makes when it hit Jon’s at hardhome, very true to the books, in the very first chapter of the first book they describe the sound of the other’s blade sounding unearthly, I’m glad they had such great attention to detail here

Like you just can't make it worse i wish the night king had stepped on a draonglass and just died by accident rather than like this

The Directors excuse was oh yeah Arya has a valerian steel dagger so she was destined to kill the Night King. Guess what John also has a valerian steel sword and also he is a Targaryen name a better person to 1vs1 the Night King. The Directors screwed the final 2 seasons.

The character Jon was very brave Man, when he found out he was the rightful heir, he didn't turn his back on the people, he stood firm and fight. Then again it had a lot to do with the Man, The Lord Stark that raised him.

They could have had Jon fight the NK and then Arya still kill him if they really wanted. Have Jon and NK fight, Jon getting the best of him, the NK retreating, and then smirking and raising the dead just like he did in the show so he could escape.

I feel now, because of the seemingly obvious Targaryen white hair piercing blue eyes, and the ice dragon as well, that this Ice King is linked VERY MUCH to PAST TARGARYEN connections. If so it connects the 2 shows in a brilliant way. The 3 eyed raven- Aemon and Jon Snow's parentage, Bran Stark's connection to the 3 eyed raven... it's comes together to make the Prophecy a reality. That was all about the Targaryens to begin with. We now know from the superbly done retelling Targaryen story line in House of the Dragon... BEFORE Game of Thrones..... which put little emphasis on the Targaryens except that Dany showed up and was given 3 dragon eggs. Her brother Viserys had the Targaryen madness trait ) Both had a fraction of their famed family's power. GoT was much more a The Starks and their strong connections with the Lannisters, Tullys of the Vale, Baratheons, Dorne,etc. after the Targaryen house practically obliterated itself. But not quite..... How can anyone deny the Ice King is a dragon rider? This literally SCREAMS Targaryen connection. Game of Thrones retells the Stark family half of 'the Targaryen Prophecy' as House of The Dragon sets up the future connection that enables the Targaryens to fulfill their history. Thus, In the end its still ALL about the Targaryens... who needed Dany, Jon Snow, Rhaegar. Leana, Aria and Bran who becomes the 2nd (Targaryen 3 Eyed Raven)to ultimately fulfill what Viserys the Peaceful talked about to Rhaenyra. And was mistakenly interpreted by Alicent, his wife. And Bran's ruling power at the end of GoT now seems NOT so out of context when taken into the prophecy. This is my take how GoT & House of the Dragon shows connect. (It's always been about The Targaryens...... and how the Stark family likely saved them from obliterating themselves) BUT... Who is the Prince that was Promised??

The only glaring issue in this theory is the fact that we are shown and told that the Night King was a First Man, whom the Starks are decendents of. Whereas the Targaryen line are all descended from Valyria. Who, at the time the Night King was created, never stepped foot in Westeros until almost 10,000 years later, during Aegons Conquest.

But take all that is said by 'characters in a novel' retelling family history lore aka 'fairy tales' as truth.....and you might get burned. (No Pun) The 🐉. Its all about the dragon. Unless GAA Martin explains how the First Men got dragons TOO.... Dragons are 'hot' creatures. I believe a 'Targaryen' dragon was turned to ice in the North long long ago. The Night King too. But who was he? So in the Jon Snow book the backstory is hopefully revealed . We are given more knowledge of how cruel yet powerful the Targaryens were. The 1st 3 Eyed Raven (that Bran Stark becomes) is a bonafide ancient Targaryen alive during the time closer to Dance with Dragons. He knows the Targ history, he lived it and now coincidentally sharing it with Bran Stark. No one was more perplexed (NO.... horrified) than me when Bran became King of the Iron Throne! Bran being able to warg as the Raven and 'see' how the Targaryen - Stark past connects is necessary to explain their connections. (Why) did Arya Stark of all people kill the Night King with THAT dagger? Why not Jon? Did Arya become 'The Girl with No Name' to save the World from an endless Winter as foretold by the Raven?) Like the doomed love story of Leanna and Rhaegar with young Ned finding his sister had just given birth to Jon in the Tower of Joy. And who saw that in the shared 3 Eyed Raven vision? Bran Stark. Dany and Jon have a similar doomed family destiny..... The Stark/ Targaryen familial connection is of more plot importance now than in the previous series. In any case I feel Dance with Dragons introduced much magic and excellent fantasy storyline to GoT. It couldn't have been better. Put it this way. I am hoping (Bran becoming King AND The 3 Eyed Raven) has to serve SOME pre ordained purpose, other than Dany dying in Jon's arms and Jon himself going back to that damn Wall. (???) I'd like to know more about Cersei Lannister's crush, the handsome but sad Rhaegar Targaryen.... a soft spoken history reader, maybe not as peaceful as perceived)

The producers and writers managed to kill Game of Thrones' cultural relevance. Image telling a game of thrones fans 10 years ago that it would be tossed aside and forgotten. They wouldn't believe you. House of dragons managed to bring it somewhat back into the mainstream but not nearly at the level it use to be.

7 seasons - badass way of showing us how a walker died Season 8 - we will see the king of the walkers .. the BIG BOSS… after seeing its commanders die in epic ways by Jon snow …. We would assume it would also look epic … 🤣 nah .. we will see all 9 commanders of him watching him die by a girl doing a knife flip in the air while being chocked
