Se è l'assenza di quella 'italianità' gulpishness (la mia parola-sorry) allora Accolgo con favore che è l'assenza nella voce di Kaufmann. Proprio come Accolgo con favore l'assenza di 'squillo' o piuttosto evidente squillo che si verifica quando un tenore 'hits' una nota alta con la forza in più. Emozionante, forse, ma io sono subito ricordato che io non sto sentendo Cavaradissu, Calaf, chiunque ma piuttosto 'tenore X'. Tollerabile in concerti ma, dirompente in una performance completa. Hai visto piena esecuzione da parte di Kaufmann di questo ruolo, dal vivo o registrati? Ci sono almeno 3 DVD disponibili con diversi Toscas. Lui è un Cavaradossi, pittore, amante appassionato la cui la cui fantasticheria (Recondita armonia) è solo leggermente venata dalla conoscenza della natura geloso e possessivo di Tosca. La sua E lucevan le stelle è straziante. Meno 'bella' di Recondita perché quest'aria deve avere nostalgia e la memoria tingono di disperazione. Per me, Kaufmann dipinge tutte quelle sottigliezze con la sua voce e visivamente come nessun altro. Anche se io semplicemente ascolto (no video) alle sue performance piene - sento ancora quei colori. Giudico questa performance per quello che è - facile da condividere su YT, solo 1 aria, in una chiesa ad una funzione 'misto'. E io ancora mettere questa performance contro qualsiasi performance registrate simile passati o presenti. Riconosco che ti amo Puccini e che tu ed io abbiamo gusti differenti in voci, ma per favore non dire che Jonas Kaufmann è niente di meno che un interprete di talento che sta portando il dono della musica di Puccini a migliaia, molti di loro nuovi a questo arte. I suoi connazionali (supponendo che sei italiano) ha recentemente gli ha conferito il Permio Puccini. I have heard (on record) most of the singers you mention and the more recent ones as well. I have heard "ingolato" used negatively. Not sure if it is what you intend by it. If it is the absence of that "italianita" gulpishness (my word-sorry) then I welcome it's absence in Kaufmann's voice. Just as I welcome the absence of "squillo" or rather obvious squillo that occurs when a tenor "hits" a high note with extra force. Thrilling, perhaps, but I am instantly reminded that I am not hearing Cavaradissu, Calaf, whomever but rather "tenor X". Tolerable in concert performances but, disruptive in a full performance. Have you seen Kaufmann's full performance of this role, live or recorded? There are at least 3 DVDs available with different Toscas. He IS a Cavaradossi, painter, passionate lover whose whose revery (Recondita armonia) is only slightly tinged by knowledge of Tosca's jealous and possessive nature. His E lucevan le stelle is heartrending. Less "pretty" than Recondita because this aria must have longing and memory tinged with desperation. For me, Kaufmann paints all those subtleties with his voice and visually as no one else. Even if I simply listen (no video) to his full performances - I still hear those colors. I judge this performance for what it is - easy to share on YT, only 1 aria, in a church at a "mixed" function. And I will still put this performance against any similarly recorded performances past or present. I acknowledge that you love Puccini and that you and I have differing tastes in voices, but please don't say that Jonas Kaufmann is anything less than a gifted interpreter who is bringing the gift of Puccini's music to thousands, many of them new to this art. Your countrymen (assuming you are Italian) recently awarded him the Permio Puccini. The first non-Italian to be so honored.

Colman un bellissimo commento,appassionato,vero! è bellissimo che Lei crede nelle sue parole che rispetto. bravo! basta ''sentire'' in quest'aria uno spagnolo /Miguel Fleta/ per capire che anni luce separano la vocalità di questo Artista lirico vero e quella di Kaufmann. la voce di Kaufmann la conosco benissimo,io parlavo di questa sua interpretazione. anche la Kabaivanska aveva ricevuta il Premio Puccini in Italia per la sua Tosca... questo fatto per me non vuol dire che questa brava Signora aveva una voce bella,e ancora meno ''pucciniana''. nel paese della Kabaivanska /Bulgaria/ esistevano più di 10 soprani,tutti avevano delle voci molto più belle dalla sua. no comment. ps. non sono italiano e non soffro dalla malattia ''patriottismo''... in questa crisi di voci oggi non mi sorprende niente. apprezzo molto il suo commento pieno di ammirazione per questo bravo ragazzo. per me la lirica italiana è un'altra cosa. con rispetto Nicola.
