Jonathan Roy .. wow .. the last 2 days I have been binge listening to him .. I'm getting my strength back , I'm able to walk a lil higher.. Reading this brought on many emotions. Mainly pain. Heartache. But, for you to give uplifting words with what you were going through, it gives me some sort of comfort. Reassurance that things will be fine. “ I Hate That I Love You.” - I used those words today. Directed at my girlfriend. Now ex. Of 11 years. We’ve been separated a few times. Both her and I had an understanding that this would likely be the last time we try to save what we have. Obviously I’m not perfect. Nor she. I’ve had a drug problem in 2017. I did what I had to do I didn’t lose My Love. Went to rehab and haven’t used since. Not losing her was what motivated me. Being told by many that I’m wasting my time if I wasn’t there to help myself. I had no doubts. I knew I was going to shape up. For her. For us. And I did. She cheated on me once before I went. Again while I was in rehab. And I’m embarrassed to even say but countless times since. All the way up until today. I hate that all - 11+ yrs was a lie and that I was wrong about who I thought I knew. I held out with the hope that the person I thought I knew, would finally come to like and we could finally make it work and make progress. I was blamed for all of it. She took blame a few times but even then. It was my fault that she did what she did. I know now, it is not my fault and she is just wrong. Lost. Broken. I was manipulated into believing it was my fault. I just wanted to believe, still want to believe I’m not being lied to and betrayed. But that’s not the case. We’ve been in this cycle for a long time. I’ve felt pain for the majority of our relationship. I planned to marry her and she knew that. I’ve told her many times. And i truly believed I was going to. Only just recently I realized, that most likely will not happen. ….. Why do I want to Marry her !!!! Still. That’s what I want. I SERIOUSLY HATE THAT I LOVE HER. But I do. Sorry I forgot I was writing a comment on a video. I don’t talk to anybody about my problems. Especially my relationship. With how messed up it is and how dumb I look. I hope nobody has to go through this. Unfortunately many people will. Nobody’s advice worked for me when they would say “ you need to get out before it’s too late. “. “Once a ____, always a ____. “. I wish so badly that I had listened. Letting go now is a lot harder than it would have been back then. All of that time and love. I know time heals all. But love. Love doesn’t just disappear. Again sorry for the rant. Thanks for the words. Hate that I love you !

Thanks for sharing , My divorce was final 2 weeks ago and this song hits a bit different when you are going through something like that. I hope you are probably in a much better place than you were a year ago. Surround yourself with good people and positive thoughts and great things will happen in your life.

Just left a relationship with a narcissist and in a no contact situation. I keep getting love bombs and I’m ending up being hateful towards her for making me feel like this song. Amazing song!!! So relatable because being in love makes you do crazy things and you feel like you lose yourself because you love that person so much. It can be a scary thing because you don't know if it will last. So yes it makes you mad sometimes that you love so much out of fear. But finding the one that accepts you for you and all your flaws is a beautiful and powerful thing.

I remember the first time I did listen to your EP I fell in love with this song. You always so rapsy and powerful and passionate when u sing I LOVE this and that's why I fell in love w this song. and then I saw you in this video , your body, your face expressions. you are so damn powerful. you transmitted the vibe of the song w your WHOLE being!
