@@OpenShotOfficial why my video is still lagging and hanging in OpenShot?, Although i go to edit-preference and i have change the preview option - mobile 360p on preview and also changed cache memory limit to 2048 and also i also choose the option Hd 1080p fps 25 on choose profile, every time while exporting my video.Is there any option to update OpenShot video editor?I am facing lot of problem because of hanging and lagging while putting videos in openshot .My computer RAM 4 gb.Now my computer started beeping ...continuses beeping sound , while exporting video in openshot and it take more then 5 hours to export video ..."video export is fully complete after 5 Hours in openshot' is this normal ? OR there may any problem in openshot ._please reply-

FINALLY, A STABILITY UPDATE!!!! I've long since struggled with openshot crashing EXCESSIVELY, I could never have an editing session where it DIDN'T crash, I really hope this update fixes all that instability I, and I'm sure, we all had to deal with.

Installed 3.0 today (PC Windows 11) The interface looks great and some improvements over the previous version for me. Still dealing with heavy lagging, especially in separating audio single file, splitting all clips both sides, zooming in and out and nudging a clip a frame a certain direction. I did change the Cache Limit (MB) to 2048 for 16GB+ ram which leaned heavy on my CPU. Appreciate your help!.

Dang , one feedback, make an option to prevent auto keying if we want, and also try to make the keyframe a bit more flexible, like the abilty to move and even more cooler a graph, but dang openshot is getting bigger and bigger everyday

Hi, is there any guide / reference for learning how hardware acceleration works in windows for Openshot? What class / module should I start reading? I don't have extensive C++ experience but want to learn more. If I understand part of it might as well want to contribute.

Prior to updating Openshot to 3.0, the audio of my files have been at normal playback speed. Now after updating to the latest version, my videos are now higher pitched and faster despite being important unaltered previously. Any way to fix this issue?

Danke für Dein Video. Ich arbeite auch gerne mit open shot. Nun habe ich aber eine neue INSTA 360 GO, die mp4 Videos ausgibt. Diese werden von open shot aber nur sehr klein im Programm angezeigt, do auch auf KZfaq. Andere Videos mit anderen Dateiendungen werden normal groß angezeigt. Verarbeitet das Programm keine Videos mit mp4 Endungen? 🤔

Hello; Thank you for Openshot, Awesome! Inquiry, I've pieced together multiple short videos and used fade to connect them all into one nice, long video. But its too long to upload onto the destination website. is it possible to cut/slice or segment this completed video and transfer each new segment elsewhere in my computer? I tried to click and drag segments out of Openshot edit section/time line, that didn't work. Thank you.

What I need to know is why, when OpenShot is running, none of my other videos on my browser, or in media player, will play or have sound. It used to let me have clips in OpenShot, and then pull up a video in a player, not OpenShot, and I could preview it before putting it in OpenShot. What happened to make that stop? I am, unfortunately, using Windows 11. It is getting so annoying. I put clips in OpenShot list window and when I need to search my computer for other clips I want to add, they will no longer have sound if OpenShot is open. How do I correct this???

After I installed this version, an mp3 file in one of my projects somehow got sped up (even though the settings were the same). When I attempted to remove that file and add it again, it is now mute (even though the volume is at 100%). :(

i was working on my video too and that same thing happened to me, i just assume its a preview setting? but i also don't know how to set it back to normal play speed. @_ @;;; ima keep looking, just compared a video with a video in openshot... ye its strange its just the audio... the video doesn't seem to be going that much faster but its hard to tell cause the software buffers, i have no idea what kind of setting this would even fall into...

If you are using Window, please double check your default audio device is using the same sample rate as OpenShot (in Preferences->Preview). If they are different, OpenShot audio will drift pretty quickly away from the video. Hope that helps!

I'm a user of Openshot. It is quite amazing that such a useful software exists, and most of all it is free. Though, I have experienced some bugs here and there. The most I have experienced was crashing. It seems to occur a lot when you're moving things around. Other than that, it's got pretty much everything one could ask for.

I love to use openshot. But only promblem is openshot do not have voice over option. Till now iam recording voice in mobile and adding in openshot. So please add this voice over feature in openshot. Expect this I really like and love openshot because it is easy and have advance features, but do not have voice over 😢

Thanks for the comment! OpenShot does not currently have the ability to record audio or screen capture. We are still strictly an editor and not a recorder - however this is on our future road-map and we would love to include it at some point!

Is there anyone whose Appimage OpenShot 3.2 works with Vaapi GPU acceleration? In my case, the program does not detect the graphics card and blibliotek, even though they are certainly installed. My system is Fedora 39 based and the graphics card is RX 6600 XT.

Love this video editor except for one thing: I have a very beefy desktop machine, yet the preview lag and the random crashing issues force me to "save my project" every time I make any significant changes, which is a pain in the ass. Hopefully this version solves these issues, because otherwise this is a great piece of software. If not, I'll be forced to "Resolve" the issues in another way, if you get my meaning.

so, why 720p mp4 video h.264 at 500kbps (youtube video download quality) will be much lower quality at same bitrate on openshot low quality. med and high quality bitrate produces much larger file sizes at 5mbit/s and 15mbit/s. is libx264 not optimized.

I used to use up-to-date Resolve until I got a GPU (6650XT, I used to use my 5600G iGPU). And now all my clips are blank in Resolve, possibly due to OpenCL. The only versions that work are the latest of version 16 and older. This has been an issue since version 17 which has been out since February 2021.

Hello Just like to let you know I downloaded version 3.1.1 and I was getting constant jiggery problems in the playback video. I tried all the the helpful hints on trying to solve the problem. Luckily I was able to find a roll back to version 2.4.4. and am getting zero problem. FYI please include rollback versions of your software on your website. i have been using openshot for three years. By the way I do appreciate the work you do on Openshot. Thank you.

This software is the best!!! 🎉like using it for 2 years and very less crashes and only few file losses like 1 or 2 which i think is due to the low end specs i have and maybe coz of it, it lags so yesss this update is surely for me to learn something new!!! I have now downloaded the program and imported the video. I dragged it to the timeline, turned it on and my voice was like the voice of a five-year-old child. Also the video is faster than the audio

when I add a video o timeline and playing it.. video is playing at normal speed while voice speed is too slow to understand anything. Adding any audio file results in the same. Is some effect is applied on it by default? what to do to remove it?

Every time a new version of Openshot comes out, I try it and every time I am stunned that people continue to rave about how great it is. I tried to convert a 1-hour long TV programme saved as an MPEG ts file and it stated it would take 15 hours to convert to MP4. What am I missing here? How is this useable?

I just found out there's a missing functionality on this wonderful software, if you have a clip that has multiple audio tracks you won't be able to choose which track to keep and which track to delete this app simply chooses the first audio track, let's say a video was recorded with three audio tracks track one is the game sound, track two is the Mic audio and track three contains both the game sound and the Mic audio, in openshot there's no option to choose any of these tracks it's like openshot doesn't even know there are multiple track for this said clip.

Hi Thanks for the program Openshot but your very latest version upgrade has messed up a lot of my saved Projects that had a lot of time and effort put into them. The updated version no longer recognises certain saved projects, it no longer opens them, but the previuos version did. Nothing else has changed just the latest upgrade. Why would that be, do you have any fixes please? - PLEASE NOTE I have now RESOLVED the problem thankfully after much scratching of the head! - The TRANSITIONS that I had manually created disappeared from the Open shot Transition file due to the upgrade. By physically restoring these transitions in the Transitions file the program now opens the saved projects along with the maually created transitions and the many other assets that are associated with the projects - phew i can breathe now! :) Hope that this might help anyone else who might encounter the same or similar problem.

Absolute worthless, it won't import anything (videos, pictures, audio), doesn't matter what format I use (MOV, MP4, FLV, etc) as typical the old version worked perfectly. The program gets updated to not working.
