Thanks to Patricia Oliveira for requesting RKO Pictures. Welcome to logo history episode 43. Today we are about to be looking at RKO OUTTA NOWHERE!!! RKO Radio Pictures was originally founded by RCA to promote their RCA Photophone sound system. The initials in the company name stand for "Radio Keith Orpheum", reflecting the joint venture of RCA, the Keith Orpheum theater circuit, and the Film Booking Office of Joseph P. Kennedy, the father of the 35th U.S. President, John F. Kennedy. They are known for making King Kong, Are We Done Yet?, Mighty Joe Young, and many more. Their first movie was Syncopation (1929) and their latest so far is Barely Lethal (2015). They have no upcoming films yet (I think). Credit for all logos and captures belong to everyone who made them, no matter if they are the copyright owner, in which they are shown in this video.
