Jordalen (and Brekkedalen) - one of a few excellent gravel roads in western Norway that can be taken as a roundtrip - here in the unedited version for those who wants to see more of the roads.

Inspired me to get the old vmax out for a ride. Been wrenching since dawn replacing leaky gaskets. This got me into action on my "shelved project" I know my 9gag bro is reading this. We put alot of pressure on dads for whatever reason. Be sure, that they also respond positively to praise, as all people do. You are doing a great job of being a great son and friend.

Some gravelroads in Norway that are free to ride for bikes, but others are private owned roads and they charge the users a bit to be able to maintain the roads. In the past it used to be all cash, but more and more have some kind of electronic payment. Most tolls are based on the Norwegian payment system called 'Vipps', but to be able to use this you need a norwegian bank account, and to get that you need a norwegian social security number or D-number - which I guess may be a bit of a hazzle to arrange? At some toll stations there are still the possibility of paying with cash, normally you write your details (normally just registration number and date) on an envelope that you put the money inside, the put the envelope in some kind of security box. In some cases they may have displayed a bank account number that you can transfer the toll to. Automatic registration of your bike's registration number has become more and more common on the larger, more traficked roads - I guess that is a fairly expensive service to install. In those places instructions on how to pay is displayed. Normally a website you need to enter to find out how much you owe and how to pay. Usually have to pay via the website within 24-48 hrs to avoid getting invoiced with some extra surcharges to cover the invoice handling. So, in the places where 'Vipps' is the only choice - I guess you should bring some cash, and if you meet an inspector - explain the situation and offer to pay manually...? Thanks for watching and commenting, by the way!! 🙂

Your afraid of COWS???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣What do all the people do in the back country where there is not water and just rocks everywhere? I thought that was very strange and just their cars. Are they camping in their cars on a weekend to get away from the big city? No toilets, so we know what they are doing. Pooping on the rocks. I would not think that would be permitted. what a nice long ride. I could not tell if you came back another direction or went someplace different. Thanks again for a great video and NOOOOO music. I love it. 😍😍😍😍

I just don’t trust those creatures - I know what damage those legs can do…. Plenty water in western Norway, don’t you worry. We all poop when we have to - hide it under a stone and forget it. 😂 It was kind of a round trip with a few dead ends. Rare to fond gravel roads like that here in western Norway - mostly dead ends.

@@TheTor_Detours If you know Runa, "off she goes" I had to talk her out of her fear of cows and sheep and goats. I was raised on a small farm with goats and have been around plenty of Cows. They are all stupid animals and always looking to see what you have for them to eat. Only the Bulls do not trust. I have been in big herds of cows and they would gather around me to see what I had for them. I would just stand still or walk around slowly and petting them. They are just stupid nosey. 😁 Like sheep and goats. They all want to see what you have for them. Runa is much better with them now with her bike. Just go slow and keep moving. Never saw a cow kick or bite. Maybe lick your skin for the salt. So what do the people do out there in just their cars or trucks? Just campout? I would imagine they would get cold at night. What wild animals are out there? thanks. so funny. 😂
@TheTor_Detours

@@JohnSmith-uy7sv Quite a few of the people in the mountain that day was out there to collect the sheep to bring them in-house for the winter. Regarding the others, I would guess some on day trips others in cabins for the weekend. Some may be hunting, primarily for grouse. Not much wildlife in this area I’m afraid. Mainly smaller species like fox, hare, lemmings, mouse. Birds like eagles, snow owls, hawks, raven, crows may be seen.
@JohnSmith-uy7sv

@@TheTor_Detours Way more than I would have thought. Don't be afraid of Cows. If you run, then they run. They are stupid like that. One of the police shows we had a few years ago showed a criminal from a helicopter at night and he climbed a fence to escape but ended up with a herd of cattle. He started to run, so... they ran too. 😁 and he was captured because he was afraid of the cows and climbed out on the other fence. It was so funny. If you just stand still or walk slowly and pet them they are just fine. Just very stupid animals. Go pet them one day or climb a fence and stand there. They want you to feed them. 🤣 take care. Thanks for the explanation.

@papayankee4460 @papa yankee I’m fine, thank you! Great to hear that you are planning on coming to Norway. In the bottom right corner of the banner at the top of my channel homepage (when using a PC) you will find a link to a map with some recommended motorcycle routes (if we like the same kind of riding…😎). When clicking on the names in the left column or on the routes in the map you will also find links to videos from those roads, so you can get an impression of what they are like. I’m assuming you will ride a motorcycle in Norway? Or is it more general recommendations for traveling in Norway you would like? When are you arriving? What is your entry point? How long will you stay? How will you get around? If on a motorcycle, what is your preferred type of roads? Anything in particular you would like to see/experience? This website has a lot of good info for visits to Norway: www.visitnorway.com/?lang=uk Have a look around at the map and the Visit Norway website. I am happy to be of assistance.
