Her arguement is invalid regardless because British law does not allow for women to be offenreds of rape. S.1 sexual offences act (offence of rape) requires a "MALE" penis to penertrate a mouth, anus or vagina. It is biologically and legally impossible under current British law for a female or even a transgender male (female to male transition) to commit rape. Given that it is impossible to use it as a justificatio for her arguement because there is not a women in British history who has ever been charged with the offence.

Well such cases are rising day by day. Just a month ago, i read about a Japanese teenage boy that was gangraped by college girls. Feminism of french revolution was the one that promoted equality now it just wants complete female dominance in the society. If we did not raise our voices like these gentlemen then we are going to see times that we can not even imagine.

There is a "post interview" discussion where Peterson reviews the entire meeting, including the discussion they had prior to recording, which was not pleasant. "Men and women throughout history have fundamentally cooperated to push back against **the absolute catastrophe of existence**." How I like that phrasing.
@justthunderbolt40
@justthunderbolt40 5 жыл бұрын
Actually that was the only wrong thing he said. He was spot on analyzing the western society and explaining how competence is different than power, but to look back at the medieval times(or any other time in history except the last century) and say that men and women cooperated on the same level is pure nonsense. Women had literally no rights or opportunityes back then, therefore it wasn't a cooperation between equal beings:it was patriarchy.
@BaremetalBaron
@BaremetalBaron 5 жыл бұрын
@@justthunderbolt40 I would say that is wrong. Men and women made tradeoffs, and many of the privileges men were given burdened them with heavy obligations, and women got a hell of a lot of entitlements and protections for the things they gave up. I can't honestly say the typical woman back then would have likely wanted to trade places. Indeed, studies of happiness and quality of life have traditionally had women coming out on top. The fundamental problem with the historical patriarchy argument is that it assumes power is MERELY power. But power, socially constrained within a community, comes at a cost, and actually takes the freedom to do certain things away. So it's really not immediately obvious who got the better deal when you look back soberly at history.
@justthunderbolt40
@justthunderbolt40 5 жыл бұрын
@@BaremetalBaron Surely men had heavy obligations and dutyes to fulfill, such as being always available for the lord to call as levy in a war;however, wars were also opportunityes to become either rich raiding enemy towns and villages, or either managing to capture an enemy lord and being knighted for this. War was hell, but also a way to improve their position. It's right to say that power doesn't only come in strength in a civilized society, however the daughter of a farmer had nearly 0 possibilities to improve her position or to change her life:she would continue to clean the house and raise the childrens after marrying someone of the village. She could not learn any profession, nor marry a noble. They may be happier because they had more security than men, but this doesn't mean that they had the same opportunityes.
@BaremetalBaron
@BaremetalBaron 5 жыл бұрын
@@justthunderbolt40 Fair enough, you're probably right that they had less agency to shape their lives. My point was just that many of the things they lacked (such as voting) had a corollary burden (civil service and conscription) that they weren't required to take on. Voting is a great example, because when polled, the vast majority of 19th century American women didn't WANT the vote because they didn't want to give up certain freedoms they already enjoyed in exchange for the responsibilities of service. So it's difficult to look at that as oppressive when many of men's rights were merely facilitators of their ability to provision and protect women. Also, the notion that women couldn't learn any profession is simply incorrect. There were trade guilds for female blacksmiths all the way back in the 14th century, and plenty of women were brewers or tavern owners or weavers.
@justthunderbolt40
@justthunderbolt40 5 жыл бұрын
@@BaremetalBaron I didn't know about the female guilds, thanks for the information. Voting is an excellent example to show that often we value security over freedom,but in medieval times neither men had the luxury to choose their lord, unless they rebelled against him.

Fun fact 85% of women whole are raped is recorded while 98.9% of of men who are raped goes unrecorded. So if everything is taken of a 100 ratio. For every 100 women who are raped, 85 of them will be reported while nearly 99 of the 100 men who are raped will go unrecorded. So the ideology that women are raped much more than men is only because men don’t report it for a number of reasons. So who’s really oppressed in that sense?

It's not all that difficult to destroy the feminist narrative. Just throw facts at them. JP does it quite well.
@leroy30
@leroy30 5 жыл бұрын
The difficulty lies in the way they express and often twist and manipulate the narrative. Usually when you counter an argument, the woman/opposing person will say "yeah but this, this and this, so therefore it's obvious" and all you end up doing is defending against their ever-morphing rationale which plays out as you are constantly on the defense which portrays you as being on the losing side. JP is very good at his rebuttal, but women are very very crafty. My ex wife used to do it to me all the time. To paraphrase, a typical argument would go along the lines of "you don't love me because you never do this", to which I would feel compelled to rebuttle with "well actually I do that all the time and here are my examples". That then morphs into "well you always do this other thing as well so clearly you don't love me" and so it continues on a neverending path of justification that is completely ignorant of any facts or truth whatsoever. And if I simply said "I do love you" then I'd get the rationale of something like "well you don't show it, you always do this" and on and on it goes, deeper into the rabbit hole. JP totally nails it in this one, but he's still fighting a losing cause. She'll never agree. Only his viewers and followers will ever agree.

Thank you so much for such a sane response. Something that came across as clear was that the interviewer was (in essence) reading from an idealogical script that was exposed as weak in the face of factual reasoning. Using the example of male on female rape (a truly wicked and abhorrent act ) was a perfect example of this and was (to use an analogy) clutching at straws to save the haystack of her general argument falling down. The intelligence of your own observation demonstrates the awareness that we live in a desperately unhealthy and confused time where slogans hostile rhetoric are casually thrown around in preference to open listening and thoughtful consideration of opposite view points. Disagreement with the prevailing ideology’s has been labelled as hate speech and forbidden. One doesn’t have to go back far in history to see that adopting this social framework is a precursor to disaster. Again. I found your reasoned response a breath of fresh air. Thank you.

Here are my two cents: The main argument of the woman is that patriarchy exists and is a problem, since the majority of wealth is distributed among a small proportion of mostly men. She could have solidified this point by saying that the majority of politicians, as well as the majority of persons in leading positions of economy are men. Jordan Peterson goes on to insubstantiate her claims by providing areas in which men are, in many cases only seemingly, disadvantaged. But this argument is flawed. Patriarchy has nothing to do with incarcerations, suicide or performance in school. It is about unequal distribution of power. And exactly that is the case. Men do in total hold more power than women, with the exception of Rwanda. And this unequal distribution of power is a problem. The most important word during Mr. Petersons monologue was the following: competence. He is implying that the inequality of power distribution stems from an inequality in competence between men and women. To a certain degree, summed over society, this might even be true. Since women typically lose part of their education time to being pregnant and caring for children, they might have a small lag in education or competence if you might call it that. And this can even be corrected by distributing child care equally between parents, as Iceland beautifully showed. But that does not mean women lack the competence to lead, lead a school, a corporation, a country. I firmly believe that our present societal structure, both economically as well as politically, is a self-reinforcing system, a system with feedback. Since men will rather choose men as their employees, as their successors or as their leaders, women are underrepresented in politics and economy. I even go as far as to say that the same would happen if women were the majority in leading roles, like Rwanda shows. History teaches that as well, just like there have been and still are patriarchical societies, matriarchy has been a thing in the past. But unequal distribution of wealth and power, be it towards men, be it towards women, be it dependent upon skin colour, spiritual beliefs or sexual orientation, remains a flaw. This might be a flaw of democracy or a flaw of human thinking and decision making, I do not know. It is a flaw nonetheless, a flaw which has to be accounted for. Sincerely VSW

@Wi Ez very thoughtful comment, thank you for sharing and adding to the discussion my suspicion for why there are more male CEOs and politicians includes the following: men are more likely to compete for wealth and positions of power than women. there may also be a (tyranical) social structure that makes it easier (and more alluring) for men to achieve wealth and power, but a significant portion of men seem to have a biological imperative (or need) to seek wealth and power-a biological imperative that most women just don't have
