Gordon the mistake you make is thinking being uneducated is an age thing. The problems in today's western society are policy issues with corruption and a lack of empathy preventing any kind of forward movement or ability to lift up those who have been crushed by the extreme end of what once was considered capitalism and is now only greedy capitalism. You mentioned your age to place yourself on some kind of pedestal but it is your own age group and older that are the cause of these exact problems we deal with today. That is the age group that still right now sit as politicians blocking anything and everything that could benefit lower financial classes. These politicians are the same people that were initially welcomed into politics by uneducated people of your age group. Now I don't mean to make this a personal attack on you, only to humble you on the old bullshit saying of "kids these days...". Do I have a bias against older generations? Yes. I am a millenial and we were blamed for all the world's problems before we could even vote, then we were thrown into a fucked economy as soon as we left school, then the housing market held and manipulated by the boomers which was already screwing gen x completely locked us out by the time millenials were in. So all this ofcourse places a bias at my end, but it also makes me protective of the new generations after me knowing how absolutely moronic the generations before me were. Every political move our millenial generation tried was completely shut down by boomers and gen x, and now we just have to deal with 2 younger generations that are far more extreme and just won't put up with the bullshit anymore. I think on social politics it's all fucked right now and a bit tyrannical, but on economic politics I think you should get off your throne and recognise the younger generations are far more educated than any generation before them, and they will be making overdue changes that your generation and mine have failed them on so far. Nothing pisses me off more than "kids these days..." type statements, it only ever shows a complete disassociation with reality and complete lack of education on your own part.

Jordan has studied and lectured about how the Nazis came to power, held power, and brought to fruition their horrible agenda. Jordan was written into the comic as Hitler himself and for someone that has spent a career demystifying and trying to show the evils of Hitler, it was a real blow to Dr Peterson. That is how I understand the situation.

The irony of Peterson is that he railed against authoritarianism, and yet so much of his rhetoric has authoritarian overtones. Jordan Peterson can be very good on topics related to his discipline--personality theory and psychometrics--but absolutely ridiculous on topics outside of his field. His take on Marxism is that it is essentially about inequality, which shows that he hasn't bothered to inform himself in the least about Marxist thought. His take on contemporary art is that contemporary artists have no sense of craft; this shows that he knows absolutely nothing about the arts scene beyond a Jeffery Koons sculpture that he saw in Time magazine once. His takes on postmodernism and Frankfort school critical theory are even more embarrassingly simplistic. He is, in short, an extremely convincing bullshit artist who is adept at bringing disaffected young men under his sway.

You mentioned about listening to people who are "light years worth of intelligence ahead" of you...you do not do yourself justice, they are not. And this made clear by the fact that you seek to explore different ideas, learn new things and have the ability to actually listen to opinions that differ from your own...and that shows how incredibly intelligent you truly are. @@NoProtocol I find it incredibly ironic how this person whom these people who, frankly, invented the term, call the epitome of "toxic masculinity", is in this video tearing up over a young woman, who used to kind of belong into that crowd, telling him he is now one of the most influential persons in her life! Because, according to that ideology, men that are supposed to be toxic are conditioned by society since very early age to never show any emotion at all that isn't destructive. Just thought I'd drop this in here, I was really planning to make a separate comment, but I saw this thread and just wanted to say that I found your channel so randomly as well, and I gotta say, I watch a whole lot of KZfaq, and it's so goddamn rare that I find a person I'm so thoroughly impressed by after just watching a video or two. Thank you for sharing this clip. Africa is an impressive young lady, as are you. Intellectual openness in today's age is rare. I'm 52 now, but compared with you - at the same age - I was a dinosaur. I simply repeated what I heard other people espouse. It's taken me decades to learn how to think, and question, not only others, but myself too. You are ahead of the game :) Incidentally, the 'author' of that comic is someone who thinks of himself as an intellectual, Ta-Nehisi Coates, I have a low opinion of the man, but judge for yourself. There is an (proper) author by the name of Douglas Murray who has written a book called 'The War On the West' - it is not only an excellent book, but does refer to this gentleman too. I'd recommend reading this in forming your opinion of Mr Coates. Finally, and I apologise in advance, I know it's an annoying habit but I can't help myself - Carl Jung's surname is pronounced 'Yoong' as he is Swiss.

I turned 51 this year. Stepping over the half a century mark gives rise to some reflection and one thought rang loud and true. It’s ok to admit that there are more things you don’t understand than things you do understand. With years comes experience, gathered knowledge and hopefully some wisdom but my approach to the world and it’s inhabitants is now driven more by genuine curiosity than it was in my younger years. I’m not casting aspersions on those younger than me, there are some very smart, insightful and thought provoking people out there but I do think that a more objective and humble approach to complex subjects would serve not only ourselves but also our species better. Loving the videos and looking forward to what’s to come 🙏🏻

I doubt the writer knew much about Dr. Peterson beyond what the echo chamber that particular writer is in says. That's not me trying to insult the writer, just pointing extrapolating that if he'd actually done any research on what Dr. Peterson writes about in reference to the rise and fall of the German Reich he wouldn't have done that. I honestly doubt he knew anything at all about Dr. Peterson beyond the propagandist hearsay that is spread about him in the media.

Which makes it so sad to see these "woke " people mock him for crying. Its as if being in support of masculinity means you have to perform some kind of stereotype of masculinity. We indeed had pressure to hide our pain as men growing up, but this née pressure to open up regardless of judgement isn't helping either. With so toxic attitudes out there that don't fit into progressive intersections, not to mention the toxic "progressives" themselves, it makes such vulnerability a nightmare. Seeing how people react to men like Peterson crying probably does more to keep men suffering in silence more than prescriptive masculine norms. It partly comes from the idea that our ideological enemies can't show compassion, love and tenderness, because those qualities are reserved for the good people like me and my tribe.

Thanks for your presence on youtube. Common sense and thought through arguments are pretty hard to find on social media imho. True feminism is about building bridges without giving in to power houses imho. I don't agree on everything Jordan says, but he makes a lot of sense in this ocean of polarised opinions. And you do too. Having sons in their teens, I find it hard to raise them with the values I consider timeless (questioning if they will pick it up in order to build a better society) which I consider to be a very important responsibility as a parent. I must admit that it sometimes feels like the environment they are in is not necessarily supporting that goal. You just made clear to me that it can all be worth it in the end. Many thanks! I really admire and appreciate your videos and the insight you have at such a young age. Speaking of “young” I believe it’s Carl Jung not a criticism, it took me a long time to realize when people spoke of Carl Young they meant Jung.

Another great reaction, as much as I think sometime (especially recently) Dr Peterson gets caught up in the culture war fighting battles he doesn’t need to, he has been such an incredible figure for the youth and is an absolute expert in his field regardless of how much the radical left try to refuse that cause what he says opposes their stances

I came across your video in my feed. Small wonder as I am a JP fan, have been since the beginning video when he was being harangued on the quad where he was a professor. Thank you for your view. I'd like to see more so I'm going to follow.

You know I've never had much time for Jordan - largely because in the bits that I've watched he seems such an emotionless intellectual. I find I agree with his general direction, but I his delivery is incredibly off-putting. And I've got many of my own ideas about empowering our shared humanity, and most of those ideas operate outside of accepted academic mechanisms. But seeing his very visceral reaction to Africa's gratitude has me recalibrating my assessment of the man and his ideas. So thanks for that. I happened upon your channel a few days ago, and subscribed a few hours ago, and now I know why. Great stuff, looking forward to more. "It is not our differences that divide us. I think he has had to develop that output method because of his profession as a clinical psychologist and because in most of the interviews he does the interviewer is full on attacking him trying to upset him, trying to make him make some mistake so they can "caught" him.

One of Jordans best responses was in the GQ interview where he told Helen Lewis "it's like I am not hearing what you think, I am hearing the ideology you represent. I could replace you with someone with the same ideology and the answers would be the same".
