As a woman, I remember confronting myself with the same question about four years ago. “Will the kind of man I think I want actually want me?” It made me stop writing my list of things I needed in a man and instead I thought about what I really wanted my life to look like with a husband and children. And I talked about how I wanted to raise my future children and what things I value. That lined me up with men with similar character who wanted to do similar things. Just over a year later I married an amazing man I wouldn’t have dreamt of. Thank God, because I became very specific about myself and how I was aiming to live, and spoke of that openly, it wasn’t about my pride, but about real plans! We’re expecting a baby this summer. 😊

I am perplexed about so many women finding it hard to have long lasting relationships. Once I’m in a relationship, it’s hard for me to get away from the relationship. Maybe it’s because my dad raised me, and I try to see things in the man’s perspective. The reason I try to run away from a relationship, it’s because I put too many emphasis on pleasing the man, and not enough emphasis in loving myself. My happiness, or lack thereof, is my responsibility, and not the man’s responsibility.

dating apps are statistically the most common way couples meet now, third places have faded into the background and often times I see men post about how they sign up for these dance classes, or go to church or whatever and the only women there are married and elderly women because they are fulfilled already and are just picking up hobbies. Much of the female dating pool is just in college/focusing on career, 1/20 women have an onlyfans, indoctrinated by feminist ideology, or in their rooms depressed just like a lot of the men who have opted out of society. THIS is the world we inhabit, and im saying that from the perspective of living with my fiance not as someone who has a stake in the progressively worsening situation, just trying to be honest about reality. This doesn't even touch the topic of hypergamy and fatherhood or the lack thereof.

"Free love" and "hook-up culture" are just BS container phrases that disingenuously removes accountability from women under the guise of it going "both ways". In reality, it's largely women wanting to sleep with the men they actually want to get with and then getting mad the men that they **consensually** slept with didn't return the romantic feelings beyond bedroom fun. In situations like that, did the man coerce the woman into sleeping with him? The truth is that men and women by and large are sleeping with the opposite sex at different rates. These days, a third of men have not slept with women in a year or more. My point being: there is no "both ways". It's women making choices as adults with the freedom to choose then blaming their undesired outcomes on "both sides".

Why are they stunting adulthood and becoming adult children who live at home? What is there incentive to go out and be a man? People want young guys to become men so they will be more attractive to women for marriage. All the responsibility, no authority, no benefits. What is their incentive, the only way to get them to take responsibility is to have them take it for themselves. The problem is there is no incentive for them to better their lives because their escape is so much better.

I was asked why I never married by a woman several years ago when I approached 50. I could easily say part of it was due to graduate school, delays in starting an academic career, tenure and promotion, commitment to work, lack of time, bad timing or simply I never met the right person to marry. However, the better response is also to think it may be something about you and not exclusively about all the external factors.

Not really, considering 80% of women are the top/bottom 20% of men. No matter what these guys do, if they're not in those 20% they're not getting attention. So at some point, even if you've maxed all you can personally, it doesn't change the numbers, which are the problem, and it doesn't change the other problems of _female biological nature_ We can keep ignoring it, but eventually we will hit a wall and have to deal with the _female biological problem_ 🤷

Something that helped me find my wife. Work on what type of person you are projecting. I kept finding party girls, why? I was projecting myself as a all fun, no commitment party guy. Then I started being more honest on dates and working on how I came off, then after scaring off a few women I found my wife who's values and goals met mine. I wanted a family, young. I wanted a woman who was willing to build a relationship for the rest of our lives and was not afraid to give up their youth to struggle though having a family at a younger age. Once I tried less of winning women over and more of being honest with my partners I eventually found my wife. So if you notice you keep getting the opposite of what you are after, look at what you come off as and find what would attract that type of person.

@@SummerJ200 "I’m glad the conversation is being had with women about what men want and vice versa" But it really isnt. Its mostly about what women want. Where are the women honestly asking what men want and actually listening? I dont see them. No matter what, boomersimps like Peterson will _always_ just blame men and dismiss any external factors, however real they may be. Peterson will tell men "dont worry about the alligators, just find that rubber duck man". You can show Peterson that in certain countries, a man who marries has on average a 40% chance his wife will divorce him and steal his children with the blessings of society and Peterson will still go "jUst iMproVe YouRSelF mAn". His denying of reality borders on that of an old cat lady in her 50s on social media asking "is it too late to find love" and then blocking anyone who says "yes". "you can’t change the world and the people in it" Oh, but you absolutely can. Not by yourself, not easily, ill give you that. It always starts small but it can build up. Feminism was a world changing thing and it happened. _Someone_ started it. Men walking away from the society that doesnt care about them is also a thing that started small but its growing. "not every modern in the world woman is non traditional." I assume you mean "not every modern woman in the world is non traditional". I consider that an oxymoron because in my book, youre either a modern woman or a traditional one, you cant be both. It does depend on your defintions though. If you consider any woman living in the modern world a modern woman, then yeah, i guess there can be traditional modern women. What tradition are we talking about though? The 1950s? The 1850s? The 1350s? What religion, what culture? I think a reasonable bare minimum is that a traditional woman has to be a virgin before marriage, has to have her father involved in the mate selection process and has to marry young and produce multiple children. She has to stay at home with them and take care of them. She has to have her family as the highest priority in her life. Not her boss, not her career, not her social media, not her single friends. Divorce is a dirty word to her. Now with this standard established, i believe there are very few traditional women in the west and there arent many of them left even globally. If i had to put it in numbers, i would say no more than one out of ten thousand western women are traditional. And thats just the bare minimum, not considering what shes like personality wise, how she looks, what her family is like, etc. Nowadays a lot of women seem to think that just _saying_ they are traditional makes them so. Just because she doesnt have blue hair and doesnt scream about patriarchy and attend pride parades, that doesnt make her traditional. If this is what she considers traditional, then the word has very little meaning. Its just a fashion statement, an accessory to a lot of modern women.

@@Likexner that’s a long complex reply . Okay well the macro problem of culture shaping women’s negative ideas of marriage is being addressed, and some women are taking it on board. Also many women are complaining that men are not husband material they’re being messed around and played by mulitiple men who they find out are just not serious.. are just staying single…. Another huge problem. However the personal power that people have to change your own life right now is what’s going to make a difference to a persons life immediately. That is for the individual to make 100% sure that they are marriage material. Mentally, emotionally, financially, and not bringing a whole lot of negative ideas and insecurity and baggage into a potential relationship.. which will ultimately make us incompatible with even the most reasonable partner. That’s my point. What’s going to make the biggest impact on our lives is us changing ourselves… because ultimately that the only area that we have control.

The issue is far too complex for simplifications. If you're 5'5 with a funny looking face you're going to have a hard time in the dating market place. I think what has happened over the last few decades or so is that men are taking less time to learn lessons that it formerly took longer to learn because of the internet and they have looked behind the curtain and seen what life can be like for genetically privileged men and the average woman. Some men are desired for not doing nothing because of their genetics and some will wither away despite trying hard. In the latter case it may be a case of strong genetic limitations or slight genetic limitations combined with bad luck. It does not matter how much you self-improve if you just don't happen to run into women who like you and who are the right for you. If you think that such bad luck is still his fault, what do you think about children dying of accidents or illness? Nobody likes that but it's just bad luck and happens and it's not always the person's fault who dies. If you can accept that then why cannot you accept that some men have bad luck in the dating market place? Gaslighting men into self-loathing and digging for flaws in their "personality" forever is awful. This is a strategy that women learn to use against unattractive men when they cannot bring themselves to say that they don't like his looks and it's mostly about his looks most of the time. Unless we're talking about plastic surgery then self-improvement can only go so far.

Same here, man. Musician. Kinda a painful existence. I mostly got viewed as the guy that was an escape from the woman’s dull life. I never found any quality women worth being with doing music. I became a CNA, going to school to be a nurse, all of the sudden all the women vanished, and I was viewed as a weirdo. It was wild. (I also gained weight in school, so that is probably why) CNA work became horrible, and I decided I didn’t like it. Now I’m doing door dash, and I make more money doing this. Seriously, 24-29 dollars an hour doing freaking door dash. Oh, and now I see two women every week who just come over to sleep with me. WTF?? Right!? I am going to the gym now. Makes you think about what women really want, right? Women don’t need men’s money anymore, but they do need and escape from the corporate life they have brought upon themselves. He's brilliant, but naive and dopey in some regards. Yes, men need to level up, but that's not the whole equation. A lot of women also need to be held accountable, and a lot of them aren't marriage material, straight-up. Peterson, like other TradCons, will just always tack it on men to patch a sinking ship, no matter how many holes it has. What the TradCons always leave out, is that the reason young men are so absurdly ill-prepared for the harsh realities of life today, is because of feminism. We have an epidemic of weak and absent fathers because of the sexual revolution, and God knows how many decades of women telling men that they aren't needed. Ridiculous divorce laws that no one wants to fix, pervasive hookup culture where only the top strata of men share amongst them most of the women, women who don't want to be wives, etc. ALL of that is because of feminism, but TradCons won't bring it up, because they don't wanna offend women lol. It's just easier for them to tack it on men, and ask them to man-up and lift the boulder. If divorce laws become even more parasitical tomorrow, women became even more rebellious and lower-quality wives, there will be another "Peterson" telling men to man-up, and take charge. "Well, it's bad, but that's life. Life is unfair. So what are you going to do, just sit there and cry to yourself, and give up on women? Are you going to be afraid of women all your life, or are you going to make something of yourself?" "Go on and marry, take a chance, you'll die anyways. At least you'll have lived your life knowing you did all that you could. Be a real man." If it isn't Jordan Peterson, there will be another "Peterson" saying the same thing. Just man-up. It's all these people know really, no matter how bad things get. They'll always compare men to the men of old, but what they don't realize is, that the men of old wouldn't settle for the absurd deal that today's men are given. They'd either simply walk away, or force their will upon the situation, whether that's good or bad. Guys like Peterson will never try to solve the problem itself, just tell men to deal with the symptoms. Beware.

I suspect one way men will have to evolve is by chucking the coveted ivory tower of university education and pursuing in-demand streams to succeed, like crypto investing, the trades, entrepreneurship, and content creation. @@lennertcornette Yes there's the fact he's making Tradcon arguments in a society where that advice is obsolete. The problems with JP go way beyond that though. Taking individual responsibility for what predatory elites are doing to people is basically sending people on a suicide mission. It's all incorrect and asinine advice anyway. It's not mens fault women hate them. It's not white peoples fault they're blamed for everything. It's not the fact that people used too many plastic bags that there are environmental problems. This is all gaslighting.

I am 24 years old. Never had a girlfriend. I’m also an attractive person physically and personality-wise. My whole life I have been interested in girls, and wanted to date and get to know them. But, I’ve never put much effort into it because I was intimidated, afraid and scared. Nowadays, I feel pretty confident and I can easily have conversations with women and have good energy. But I have very few ways to meet women, and I can’t think of many ways. Sure I can meet women at a new job, but it’s a hit or miss. I’m not going to school right now but that is also an option. Other than that I would just have to get lucky. Just happen to meet someone someday in some random place. Idk. The range of opportunities and ways to meet women just feel EXTREMELY limited for me.

Im 24 as well. I work at a market and theres a gym right on the other side of the parking lot. When i see an attractive women i ask her "hey do you workout? Cuz u seem to keep yourself in pretty good shape" then i tell her how i workout across the street and grab her number as to invite her one day. Your 24 years old so if your gonna try to get a gf dont wait until later after you have lost the advantage of being a young handsome charming guy. As a man women expect you to initiate so your just gonna have to find creative ways to open women with contextually releveant conversation and be sure to remain positive and relaxed.

Thats why the phrase goes "be the bigger Man" you have to basically break her defenses with your unwavering love, positivity and openess.

The best dating advice is to look at the persons past dating history. If they move from relationship to relationship with no longevity, you can be confident that the problem is probably them and not the people they dated. Also always check to see if they've cheated. Cheating is a habitual behavior. If they've done it before they will do it again.

Change being the only constant, I have to disagree. If people are listening to JP, I have to believe they are trying to grow and become a better version of themselves. Otherwise, nobody would give a damn what he has to say. Writing someone off for their past ... We can all do that to one another. Might as well all live alone and in isolation.

@TheHouseOfGames(Original) everyone is capable of change. Unless you are a perfect person, you have to believe it of others. Usually people who say things like "people don't change" what they really are doing is projecting their own failures on others, or giving themselves a reason (excuse) to not even try.

An interesting concept for people to have a dating resumé. I'd like see a swap here and have businesses randomly hire people without looking at their history or interviewing people. Even with all that trouble, businesses still end up with some terrible workers. If it's hit or miss either way, might as well wing it. 😂

Like anything, it's complicated. As someone nearing 40 I have witnessed first hand the dating market being screwed up by apps and the ever increasing demands women are placing on their potential mate (all women are inundated by messages and it feeds into their belief they deserve much more than they can keep - although the smart ones realise this and date realistically). However, the individual male is not making things easier for himself in this shitshow if he doesn't offer anything. Just depends if you can be bothered playing the game these days, it's harder than it's ever been for men. If times get tough, the dating market will improve drastically for average guys

I literally dis-armed a man in an active robbery. My ex's best friend had invited rivaling gang members to a party (thought she was boss) and one of my friends was nearly a victim. I never told my ex about it. Happened on her birthday in her front yard. I could have been terminated that day. That was when I realized that my girlfriend of several years actually made me feel more alone than actually being alone made me feel. And that was the only "reliable" thing about her. Nobody to confide in or show any weakness. That's the quickest way she'll ever split on you as a man. I'm alone either way - so why not enjoy myself being alone? I can't even get a diagnosis of PTSD. I'm on my own as a man, entirely. I saw the collapse of western civilization nearly 15 years ago and I'm enjoying the show! Oh boy this good. All the exes are democrats... like the majority of women... and Men are the problem? That makes sense. Not. Masturbation is the problem? Better try again. Correlation is not causation - that is a logical fallacy Jordan is familiar with. Perhaps it's the other way around? What if excessive masturbation is just a symptom of a much larger problem? Who is to say? That's what I think. Did you know that 1/3 of men are raising children that are not theirs biologically and they aren't even aware of it? Are you aware that marriage is essentially entering a contract where the female signatory is paid to violate that contract? Who in their right mind would agree to those terms and conditions? What if I reverse the role play - are you interested in getting married and losing half your entire life at my discretion as I withhold access to your biological offspring (damaging them in the process to gain leverage in adult quarrels) while demanding that you pay child support for the kids that aren't even yours? *I HOPE NOT* . Does that sound like a GOOD DEAL to you, miss? Gee, I wonder... WHERE HAVE ALL THE GOOD MEN GONE???? O_o Maybe it's not all the men's fault after all? Maybe your therapist is a quack? Perhaps femininity is toxic in this society. Change my mind.

I'm not downplaying you or your C-PTSD. I'm just stating a difference of opinion and asking if you can help change my mind. I don't understand what all this fuss is about and I'd like to be enlightened. Clearly there must be something I just don't understand here. There must be something that, despite my greatest efforts, eludes my comprehension. Who knows?

@@betterdeadthanred318 I don't think men or women not mating is something to be blamed or a fault. It's natural. But remember, Jordan Peterson is more likely a conservative from another generation. And women who say, men are to be blamed for the lack of husbands, are obssesed with getting a partner. Most men are not. A few men are bitter lazy and want a top woman on their life. A lot more of woman are bitter about not finding men, while saying things like "I want a husband like this and that and I don't care what men think about it"... I mean, the husband will be a man... so... they should care. If you are a woman bitter and lonely, you are to blame for that, If you are a man bitter and lonely, you are to blame for that. But if you just don't care, there's no obligation, unless you are islamic, conservative, or gynocentric, those are the ones who think people not having kids is something to BLAME.
