I would probably modify this method a tad. I'd leave the bills money in the bank since everything is on auto pay and only take out the cash for variable expenses for shopping categories such as groceries.

Remember, she said to wait on that binder until you have a months worth of bills saved, then switch all your bills to come out of bank account on the first of the month. Then you aren’t making a bunch of trips to the bank. Just to withdraw to get the cash, and then a trip to deposit the bills cash before the 1st

You are the first Etsy Shop owner who is so transparent as to tell newbies the cheapest way to start may not be immediately buying from your shop😁😁. I also liked the way you explain the beginning of going cash budget is not as smooth as it looks if you only watch people who have been doing a cash budget for awhile. I'm still working on transitioning. My Kryptonite is grocery shopping and cooking for one vs Spending more on delivery for one freaking meal (and of course using my debit card). You provided the perfect solution - that money can go to sinking funds or challenges.

Wonderful idea💜. I waived between cashless an d cash. For me cash works so much better. It's immedate. Love this Jordan! I started very basic. I actually bought The Budget Mom printables and put them in a 3-ring binder. I used plain envelopes and pinched my pennies. I did start using an Erin Condrin with Sara Marie stickers a few months later to reward myself. Then I started making my own printables to save money. I only got my binders recently after budgeting for over a year! Great break down!

Your video makes the most sense, of any; of this type; I've seen. When this type of budgeting first came to my attention, it didn't make sense to me. Then I began to think that money in the bank doesn't seem real; much like the available balance on a credit card. You don't see it, you don't touch it, you don't have to pull it out of your wallet, to spend it. Therefore, it doesn't exist in a real world way. I remember when people cashed their paycheck and drove around and paid their bills, and people weren't in debt like they are now.

You explain very well, care about a person by suggesting start slow and not pushing your products! Kindness and genuine caring for sure! With that being said, I understand this process now! You have cleared up my confusion! I do have a lot of auto pay for our bills and we really do not carry much cash. I have ordered “fake money” as a starter splurge for me and will use that as our paydays come in and deduct our expenses accordingly! I am looking forward to going through our expenses, getting a more solid budget in place, savings and getting some supplies from you eventually! Take care and I look so forward to watching your other videos! Thank you Jordan for sharing your knowledge! ❤❤

I love how you explain things! I’ve tried and tried and sometimes I stick to it and then I fall off. If you stick to it, it does work.

Your explanations about challenges and sinking funds was so very helpful! I now understand why some of my sinking funds attempts failed while other succeeded.

amazing video! the part about the grocery budget was so relatable lmao. I gave myself way too little at first and it was awful but now I have more money to use and it's so motivating seeing the money left over and be able to save that way :)

I came across your page and I am so grateful I clicked. I just ordered a personalized binder for my needs, wants, travel shopping, savings challenges, and holiday/birthday shopping. I thought that was a good start, considering I have been using spreadsheets to keep track for a year now. CHEERS TO NEW YEAR NEW WAYS OF SAVING!

It's a really transparent system and keeps you accountable to stick with your budget. If something is physically there, that is all you are going to use that rather than having the temptation of using a credit card or buy now pay later methods.

This video was great, I can under it well and easy. I started last March and it took me a while to understand how SF work and by watching this amazing KZfaq SF community and how everyone did there’s in different ways I was able to finally understand and get my envelopes in order. Lol I started with SF envelopes like car mnt, emergency, house etc I didn’t do any challenges until I was ok to start taking more money out for some small saving challenges because I can’t do them all so I do the 5 or 10 dollar challenge and it adds up! My bills are all auto so I don’t take them out. But I hope to one day be able to do the 100 envelopes challenge eventually lol. Thanks Jordan

I just found your video today love how you break it down for us. At the moment I'm not working because I'm taking care of my Dad. In January I started to save my cash. I have a goal of 2 years to save so I can go to Puerto Rico for my niece's quinceañera. One step at a time so I won't be overwhelmed.

I’m definitely gonna Finish watching your video when I get off work!! I’m starting to realize that I’m spending more money than I am saving because as you said once I get paid I feel like I can buy anything I want! Then the “needs” end up caving in on me and I end up broke! Smh!

One thing that has always confused me about cash stuffing is what happens to all the money after saving…do you never use a bank aside from receiving your salary? Or do you move it to a bank at some point?for example, after a saving challenge
