Fantastic idea to break up the standard jelly-roll race quilt with the accent strips and fading the colors from the center evenly to both sides! Beautiful coordination with the borders. 🤩

I have never liked jelly roll race quilts but Donna demonstrated how with a little thought and planning, it can be beautiful. The colors are lovely and I love the balance of color and accents. Perfect borders! Thanks, Donna! Love this one!!!!

lol my mom also let me choose my own carpet and I chose a fuschia color when I was 13. I'm still amazed she didn't overrule me. I love watching your videos and I think I'm going to make this one for an auction. Thanks Donna for sharing you time and talents to inspire us!

Oh, the memories, Donna! I had deep purple shag carpet in my bedroom as a child too. I wonder if purple became a hit with young girls because of Donny Osmond and his purple socks? Great tutorial! I haven’t made a jelly roll race quilt for a long time. They’re so quick, I think I’ll start my Christmas gift sewing a little early this year! Thanks for the inspiration!❤

I’ve made three of these quilts and thank you so much for sharing it with us, Donna. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of making sure your strips are all the same length prior to doing any sewing. On my first quilt, I traded several strips from the jelly roll with strips I cut myself without realizing the WOF measurement was different. As a result, my accents didn’t align properly with each other.

I LOVE the colorway in this fabric line! Did Donna mention the designer and manufacturer, or did I miss it? It's very much in my style wheelhouse right now. And I really like the variation added with the accent strips. Like many others in the comments, I was never really a fan of the 'race' quilts, but this one is a winner! Thanks, Donna!

I made this for my grandson. It is absolutely beautiful. The first quilt I ever made and I could do it, I did not have any problem with it. I had it quilted by a profesional with long arm. Thank you Donna !!! You are a TREASURE to quilting community all over the world 🥰

So very nice, Donna! The first quilt I ever finished was a jelly roll race with only 1 accent square between strips. Because I used the traditional method for assembling the Jelly Roll Race quilt, I ended up with the dominant coloured strips being sewn together in one spot, and I wasn’t 100% happy about it. I much prefer this method you’ve just shown us, in which we decide how we prefer the colours to be arranged. I love those 3-squares accent pieces, they really tie the quilt together 💙💚🩵🩶Thanks for the free pattern!

You know Donna, being the person I am, (always looking for an easier, quicker way) lol, I would place a piece of tape on that table, for the top and another piece of tape 68” down and use that measure/cutting. Just a thought. I do love the colors and design of this. Thanks

I did this quilt with your free download. I experienced bowing on the second half of the piecing part. I am thinking it is better to do 3 rows at a time. I took half of it apart sewed 3 rows and ironed very well; then added back on. It seemed to correct the bowing. I am almost finished with the entire quilt. It is very nice! Thank you so much for the free pattern and video!
