You're right, we are. And what is shocking is that most people just don't get it. They don't. There's no sense of alarm or emergency, just frenzied nonsensical outrage and discriminatory bias. I'm thankful every day that Jordan exists, and I know that sounds corny but it's true lol. I feel safer in the world and most certainly have more hope in the present and future because of the work that Jordan and others are doing.

I come from a Marxist, Post-Structuralist background. I studied this stuff for 7 years in higher education, and then personally as my life. Slowly but surely it tore me apart. Over the last few years I've managed to cleanse myself and finally attain some joy in life, innocence perhaps, value - certainly. Jordan Peterson has helped me along the way and for that I will be eternally grateful. Having the courage to be who you are and speak what you think is rare, to do it with such obvious compassion and in the face of strong, institutional and professional opposition demonstrates a desire for truth, a profound kindness, and a necessity of someone who wants to care. Just as the identity politics farce has led to a series of surprising and unfortunate situations, so it has led to some surprising and fortunate heroes, of which Jordan is one. There aren't many, and these times require them, so be sure to understand the value of this man and his work. Pass it on, it's a gift.

Dangerfield yeah, I come from a punk rock background that was based on deconstruction and post modernist ideas. JP has really helped me see how much bitterness and disappointment in society left me not wanting to compete or participate in life. This did not work out well. Marx's critique really made me feel justified and deconstructing every value system reinforced my apathy as I dropped out of every social construct. I've always known I was just being a pussy. JP really puts his boot in a guys ass!

Mr. Peterson, You brought me to tears with this speech. I was driving and I pulled over and cried. It was as though I was poking around in a dark cave and I saw light for the first time in years. You are the hero you describe. You may be the savior of the west. I'm quite certain your name will go down in history though we cannot know how that history will unfold.

This is my second time hearing that last bit. The last twelve minutes, after he says, "I'm going to take five more minutes because we're running out of time," he gets so empassioned and fired up, it's like he knows he is going to die in the wilderness and those are the final words to those trying to get into the promised land. It's like hot pursuit and he knows he's about to be massacred by the Gestapo. The urgency is euphoric and awe-inspiring and deeply religious. Those words he says here are immortal. They span time and generations. I found this video Googling "the lights are on Jordan Peterson" cause that's what I remember most about it from the first time. We are so privileged here in the west, and I don't know if JP would call himself a chauvinist, but he definitely seems to recognize how well we have it figured out here in the west. And those in the Universities are studying on the backs of the working class. But these are my favorite words from him. I think this speech here is essentially captures his ideas about living. It's so regretful that he isn't american, because he could run alongside Ben Shapiro and probably change this nation permanently for the better. Like, Abraham Lincoln level change. But anyway, the first time I saw this video, it was the tail end, reposted by some other youtuber, philosophy insights or bite-sized philosophy, I don't remember. And I think it changed my life, and it was something I always knew but never had words for, and it was something I always wanted to express but never could. Dr. Peterson really is a legend.

It is, it is written thousands of years ago: "if anyone wants to come after me, deny thyself, pick up thine cross, and follow me" And it doesn't need to be dressed up in religious dogma, if you suppose that the one who said that was Nietzche's uberschmen (is my spelling right? The super-man) or Buddha's the enlightened man, the message should resonate with you, regardless of your religious beliefs and/or affiliation. But I get your point or st least where you are coming from and we are essentially in agreement.

Let's make his quips bumper stickers to spread the message? I sorta explained to some fam and friends one night (during Iraq war time) that the way to get people off oil is to make oil so uncool. You get the mainstream to buy the obvious reasons to be in favor of going green (before that term came along), and it'd put social pressure on those who didn't follow. But that's true of every movement. So-- yeah, bumper stickers, at least. For starters.

ArsenieLoca That's something that I find that militant atheists don't understand, or have even come into contact with. I dont believe in any particular God, but I am spiritual and am open to the core concepts of religion. Peterson said once that the religion that Dawkens refutes is what a 13 year old can refute. That's just the glossy surface of religion. There's a depth, or I guess a spiritual essence in say Christianity that goes beyond made up stories in the Bible. The stories are ultimate truths, not scientific truths but mythological truths that are embedded in our pschy. It's the same with Harry Potter or Star Wars, they represent the same type of story that has been told for thousands of years. There's a deep reason why we're drawn to those stories. Thought that might flesh out your questioning.

I've been what some would call a "militant atheist" for over a decade, I totally agree with you. Peterson basically turns secular preacher. It's very, very good. I think it's something most non-believers totally miss. The foundational morality of humanity and the lessons of enlightenment. The more I learn from Peterson, the more I see that most atheists are these post-modernist types...religious patriarchy and all that. Morality isn't bad dish water to be tossed out with the baby.

I've been sorting myself out for 2 days now. Been doing the things that need to be done, that beckon me to do them. Been arguing with myself in my mind a lot, like another person telling me that what I'm doing is no good and I know it. I'm feeling slightly weak and my mind tells me to drift away at times, I'm feeling some sort of structural change inside of me, but at the same time there's this stability right in the center, the glowing castle in the distance. I know the way and its treacherous yearnings for rest, respite and ultimately apathy. But I will walk this path from now on.

That's why I think that there should be some kind of recognized independent testing system available for common subjects where one could demonstrate their competence in a chosen subject that they've taught themselves in order to get qualification for that field. History is replete with genius individuals who taught themselves to do great things, so why should the modern day be any different? So many people bitch about student debt, ideological brainwashing, and all the other issues that are ruining education at any given moment, and yet the solution is staring them in the face and they wont take it.

Dear Dr. Peterson, I am a natural science student at a Canadian university in third year and I wanted to let you know that you and your lectures on youtube are filling this educational void within my life. I have always had a basic logical and philosophical foundation based on my experiences and upbringing to which I view the world and act in it. Your work has directly impacted me. It has allowed me to grow as a person, to grow in a direction a desperately needed. As other comments have said, you are a hero to people, and that goes for me as well. You have such a powerful impact and I believe have become so popular because you speak the truth. The truth is what I need and what we as a society need. I want you to know that you have my sincerest gratitude for speaking truth and making a difference felt far and wide. Thank you for standing up when society is telling my generation to sit down. Thank you for what you do and know you will have my continued support. Sincerely, Young Canadian Man

I don't want to bore, so this will be brief and succinct as others have expressed many of my other thoughts in the most perfect of ways in explaining why you are someone of import at this particular time and place in history. I have been a functioning addict for years, and having stopped it all except for twice a week use of crystal methamphetamine. But I am finding the courage and last week there was an extra day without. And this week it was only once. and that's a change, a big change bucko. It's not that watching you is saving me, it's that you're facilitating my understanding of how I can save myself. It's opening an awareness that it may be less scary to take on all my potential and responsibility than to end up the loser I had self-sabotaged myself into being. Because of my choices, my will, my responsibility to be meaningful or lack thereof. And I'm going to put the albatross around my neck and get back to the open sea because drowning on dirt just doesn't bloody well make any goddamn sense now does it? Thank you

This is powerful man, there's nothing like a Jordan Peterson rant. Post modernism, and in its slipstream leftism and political correctness, is aimed at the end of sound logic and traditional morality, and when that happens, hell really breaks loose. Mr. Peterson sees this train collision happening, and is all out trying to prevent it. I hope enough people will take this red pill in time to realize what is actually going on.

Dr. Peterson was absolutely fired up in this and perhaps a little loose. But, the peak of the crescendo at 44:35 is worth every second of viewing before and after that moment. For me, that's when, after becoming more and more familiar with his ideas since October, everything came together. The bow on the gift... or something like that. Incredible.

Dr. Peterson, I spend as many hours as I can on my weekends on watching your videos. I am truly convinced that the more people watch these videos and think about the issues discussed in them, particularly our young people, the better it is for our society as a whole. Your courage to stand up for something that is of fundamental importance deserves the highest honor our society could give, I would not hesitate to compare you with the soldiers who gave their lives in the name of defending our values.

I started crying during this speech. Twice. I never cry. 45:00. That. That dredged up a lot of hurt and made me reflect on how often I turn to distance, isolation and apathy. I turned over some stones and reflected on how much, the more I learn, the size of problems seem and how that has a tendency to make me throw up my arms in frustration for lack of a feeling I could ever fix anything. Well, that's not working out so well... Thanks, Doc, for the reminders. I really mean that.
