Jordy Smith's 'good wave' board, this is Jordy Smith's Channel Islands Girabbit Surfboard Review + Futures AM2 Fins. A performance shortboard for performance waves (and performance surfers?), Craig breaks down the CI Girabbit and his experience with this board in the water.
Have a question? Let's talk about it in the comments...
Developed as Jordy Smith's go to board for quality, performance waves, the Girabbit was developed in conjunction with Al Merrick and Channel Islands Surfboards. It will allow the competent surfers to get the most out of tight pockets, hollow barrels and fast, performance point breaks.
I hope you enjoy Jordy Smith's Channel Islands Girabbit Review + Futures AM2 Fins!

Ben Goose Hey Ben, I think the Girabbit would go well on those punchy points for a competent surfer. If you're a Channel Islands man, consider the DFR and Bunny Chow, too. Here are the full write ups for your reference: bit.ly/ChannelIslandsSurfboardsDFRReview | bit.ly/ChannelIslandsBunnyChowReview

Hi mate ! great review ! I'm currently surfing a bunny chow 6"1(32L) around sydney and looking to add a step up board for the winter. I went to sharkies beach today, it was pumping (6ft+) and glassy, i felt really light with that board. I might look at a girabbit 6"3 (33.3L) next weekend and wanted your opinion about this choice. (Im' 5"11, 83kg) Do you reckon it is a good board for winter around sydney ? thanks

How would you compare this board to a DFR? I have ridden a fair bit of CI models now and they are my go to boards for sure. I live in central FL so I basically surf weak beach breaks for the most part but believe it or not we do get decent swells throughout the year. I have been using my DFR and Rubble for when the surf picks up a little and has a little more punch but both of those boards are beaten to death and I'm trying to figure out a good replacement for my DFR and Rubble. I have a sampler, B/W and Peregrine and love them all but I really like boards with a bit more rocker for when the beach breaks get punchier and more powerful. I like trying new models and I was thinking that maybe the girrabit would be a good replacement for my DFR. Just wondering how you would compare the 2. I'm advanced btw just like to nerd out on surfboards lol. I'm balling on a budget to so I wanna try and make sure I make a good choice. Great vid and thanks for your time!

+Reece Lovely Hi Reece, I think you should get whatever length has a volume you're comfortable with for this style of board! For help with surfboard sizing, check this out: bit.ly/knowyourvolume

+CompareSurfboards.com Thank you ! So 5'10 is almost 2 inches under his height and he ordered it wider than stock dims at 19'1/8 so that's not the basic girabbit, you might want to precise this, it's important ! Keep it up and thanks for the good work !
