I remember getting ready for the Braves Marlins game I think it was in September 2016. When I woke up in my hotel room, I reached for my iPad to check ESPN to get ready for the game and then I thought when I saw the breaking news it was a joke that I’m living in a fantasy. It wasn’t that at all and I woke Mom up from her sleep telling her that one of my favorite pitchers died and then my Uncle got up too and turned on SportsCenter and it’s being broadcasted everywhere. This was total nightmare fuel and we couldn’t believe this even happened. Watching Jose has been phenomenal and I miss him a whole lot still for what he could’ve been as a pitcher today. I bet he would’ve made the baseball gods proud. Loved his talent and skill as #16 for our Marlins. RIP JOSE my star 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Was stunned when I saw the news that this happened. What a shame, will never know what he could have accomplished now. Not just that, but by everything I've read about him after his death he really seemed like an awesome guy. A great player and a great person gone way too soon. RIP Jose Fernandez.
