Mkhitaryan was a great signing, specially in the first year, but his fall-out with Mourinho led to his departure. I think he would have excelled later on under OGS and Ten Hag.

I remember Mkhitaryan's last game for United, it was against Southampton. It is easily the worst performance I've ever seen in football. Not exaggerating.

People love to look at Mourinho's time at Utd through rose-tinted glasses, and forget that he was fired with 26pts after 17 games, 11pts behind top-four, having spent £400m. Sure he is ther best manager since Ferguson but being better than Moyes, Van Gaal, Solskjaer and Ragnick is hardly something to make a song and dance about. His best league finish was 19pts behind first. Never got to a CL semi-final. Mourinho has done some truly exceptional things in his career but his time at Utd definitely wasn't one of them!

@@summonerbraddysg51 People don't even give Klopp credit for finishing 2nd with 97pts and 92pts. And Pochettino gets no credit for lifting Spurs to second and a CL final, but everyone wants to cheer Mourinho finishing NINETEEN points behind the leaders after spending £400m? Ludicrous! 🤣

@@richarddunne9802because kloop didn't do it in 1 year. That squad was terrible and they couldn't achieve anything before. Inheriting a squad like that and comparing it to Liverpool's squad is a joke.

Actually the club went a bit forward- they stabilised in the top4 2 years in a row…. Then ole failed. Jose himself said he deserved to be sacked

It's actually good that he's gone. Mourinho is a winning coach. He gets results very quickly and then burns out. He has won at almost every team he has worked at (Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Real, Man Utd, Roma) but since 2016 he has had horrible working conditions. Imagine coaching prime Cristiano Ronaldo,Sneijder,Milito,Drogba and then coming to Man Utd and explaining to idiots like Pogba that you can't just walk on the pitch.

Bailly, Matic and Zlatan are the good ones, it was only injuries and age that got the best of them from us. Mkhitaryan was brilliant in the first season, but he and Mourinho didn't go well together. Lindelof is just a decent signing, not too spectacular but not terrible as well. Pogba had talent, but he was just too self center as a person. Lukaku was not great in Man United, but at least we sold him for more than what we bought him in for.

This sums up why Mourinho never survives long stints. Almost everyone on this list is a star before signing. The others (like Dalot and Bailly) never lived up to their potensial under Mourinho - yes Dalot has been solid this year but he has been heavy critized before that. Mourinho don't have the ability to nurture and bring up talent

Jose Mourinho never got support from board at man utd. He wanted ozil at man utd but board forced him to sign pogba. Man utd's board was the problem not Mourinho. Moreover Mourinho has always went to those clubs who were struggling, so its not easy to follow through. What are you saying about not creating talent? He created ozil, mata,drogba,lampard,di maria,hazard,deco and many more
